Another Idea wold be to mount an adjustable desk lamp to the ceiling. As they are designed to hold themselves in whatever shape, and are fairly cheap, it might also work.

I've been hunting for a dental exam light to adapt to this same purpose. Maybe it's time i just make my own! Great build!

You could have use some springs to help with it holding the weight and stop it from drooping. Kinda like those one lights.

This is such a great idea!!! I just started my channel and have only put out a few videos but I'm definitely going to build this (maybe on a track system too? 🤔) see how much that improves my footage! Thanks man!

This is awesome! Congratulations on a job coming to fruition and working as planned! I love hearing you wax philosophical during your videos too. I agree so much with your ideology. I love that people are contributing as well. I feel like that's an important part of the movement; being thankful for other people's efforts and encouraging people through sharing of resources.

See this is why you are awesome: you build stuff yourself while giving inspiring words, clever solutions (welding that bolt :D), and actual advice. Thank you!

That's a great idea, and I'm glad it worked out in the end!
Also, nice editing, i'm sure re-positioning and editing took you more time than to build it haha
I like that you manage to think of quick solutions to the problems you face in a non-traditional method, like making the bolt longer.
anyway, great work man! Hopefully that will make it easier for you to push out more videos :)

Jairus, you have some good videos. This was a great video. And I really appreciated how you clearly communicated your motivation. Made me think about a Renee Brown quote: vulnerability is the start of creativity.

This is actually extremely helpful, I'm currently drawing up plans for something like this.
I had that crazy idea of starting my own youtubes channel next week, I've been moving things in my shop to have a "filming corner." Or I was going to just use my shop stool for my cameraman because procrastination!

Only problem I can see with this is that if the camera is just being held up by friction between the three bits of wood at the top than possibly eventually it could wear out and fall.
