I'd love it. None of them were Brothtails so it's an overall win. Was really cool to see how the red white and merry got utilized in a way to elevate it. You'd hope there's more out there like that. Or there's things like Mt. Olive's pickle cocktails.

Sincere Question: what is the cocktail in the thumbnail? :( Specifically the green and red one with whipped cream and the sign HO HO HELL in the background because I'm wise to this thumbnail switching business that's been going on all over the Toobs.

Interesting format, it could be interesting expanding on the ones with potential but it's cool seeing that being studied to reach the broader crowd they're all "yeah, ok, not great not bad".
A bit of context for the Campari drink: I don't know if it's just an Italian thing, but in the default Christmas baskets there are, almost always, some dried figs. In general they're pretty common around Christmas so I get why they went for that association

I once contemplated writing a country song entitled :"I'll drink it because I paid for it!" based on a drinking experience involving a coffee with Triple Sec on a blizzardy night in Ohio. There were, in fact, people riding snow mobiles in the streets, inside city limits, and my friend and I staggered both to and from the establishment through feet of snow.

@@7531monkey I mean, condensed milk is also milk that's had 60% of its liquid volume boiled away. Given that milk is a whole lot of proteins (which coagulate) and sugars, it probably would still turn relatively syrupy even without the sugar. The sugar is predominantly a preservative, as sugar typically doesn't spoil/mold/etc. very easily. It's why sweetened condensed milk has a shelf life just this side of forever.

It's so funny when it comes to "christmassy" flavors around the world. Cranberries isn't very associated with christmas in Sweden. While Figs, dates, oranges and obviously all the christmas spices like cloves, cinnamon etc makes up the greater picture. I guess it has to do with what was shipped before we had supermarkets with daily or weekly shipments of fruits and greens.
Like oranges, clementines and most other citrus fruits usually came around when the harvesting seasons were and that happened to be around christmas for us in northern Europe, while we have lingon berries (sort of cranberries), blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries apples and pears pretty much everywhere but during winter and spring.

6:29 I’m from philly/currently live in south jersey. I always called ‘Italian ice’ ‘water ice’ (or really, ‘wutterice’). Im pretty sure there’s a technical difference though. Like water ice is a blanket term. Among that there’s Italian, polish, and I assume others I haven’t had. Then you have your sherberts and sorbets and snow cones and whatnot. Point is, Italian ice is a certain type of water ice. I’m also pretty sure a lot of things labeled as Italian ice aren’t actually Italian ice, but that’s just a headcanon.

If you are going to make another christmas/winter themed episode you'll have to try Feuerzangenbowle. It is made with wine, spices, oranges and a huge lump of sugar drenched in burning overproof rum so it caramelizes and drips into the wine.

Right, Greg. Here is a missive from the UK. I am in a pub called the County in Huddersfield UK. Here are their cocktails:-
    Jack Forest Gateau
    Coffee Liqueur, Bailey's, Chambord.
    A Celebration
    Brandy, Martini Rosso, Campari, Bitters
These are the two that are safe to give you, Greg. The others would give you apoplexy as to how Wrong they are.
But try Sherry with Ginger Ale!

Hey Greg I was wondering if you could make this drink it’s called
    Christmas cow
1 cup milk, 1 3/4 ounces Irish whiskey, and 1 teaspoon confectioners sugar
1.) heat the milk in a small saucepan just until the milk starts to boil.
2.) remove from the heat and pour into a warmed punch glass.
3.) pour in the whiskey and sugar and stir until the sugar has dissolved. In the picture it’s in a turkish tea glass so umm I’m not sure 🤷‍♀️
