The A400m/ C130j formation was something to behold, these truly are big beasts, even the AWACS seem slick in comparison. There may be bigger parades in the future (a return to the previous habits then) as the Air Force is said to be planning extra acquisitions, the talks are of two Rafale squadrons, five more A330 and two dozen manœuver choppers, possibly drones as well.

I were visiting Paris on july eleventh this year and were on top of La Grande Arche enjoying the view when all of a sudden this formation appeared right over me. I guess it was training for the actual day? Nonetheless it was amazing standing right under it. And yes, I want to believe that was a special occasion just for me☺️

What the French celebrate on the 14th of July as their National Day is the takedown of a Royal Prison in Paris called La Bastille by the people of Paris. Therefore non-French people usually call it “Bastille Day”, although most French wouldn’t have a clue what you’d be talking about. Cheers😉

What they could maybe learn from the flypasts in the UK is saving the display team until last, so the other aircraft aren't hidden by the leftover coloured smoke. 😅
Well... the smoke doesn't seem to be an issue in the actual flight over the Champs-Élysées, which is what matters. The following aircraft are always properly visible there unlike here, without the smoke ruining it.

C'est faux ! Il y a plus de 192 a/c dans les armées françaises. Il n'y a pas que des chasseurs, et la Marine possède des a/c, ainsi que l'armée de terre (principalement des hélicoptères).
I counted them all and got the same 86. Britain could never match that display, they just don't have the aircraft. And there are not many aircraft that llok as beautiful as the Rafale, while being absolutely deadly. Bastill Day in Paris is the best National Day in the whole world.

They do train for the parade over the weeks leading to July 14th. With luck, you can see them and you will most certainly hear them from afar as well.
