  • There's been two times I've nearly quit the fish hobby, but I kept through it anyway. Let's talk about the positives and what you can learn from my story.

One thing I wish the Co-Op light did was have a sunrise and sunset. I think it looks really nice and it helps the fish wake up/settle down for the night instead of just on and off. I totally agree with the take on apps. It would be more user-friendly and convenient for people having one app to control all their lights (or a good majority of them).

I’m disappointed by the removal of the heater and co2 regulator. I think the coop is in a tough position because of the community they’ve created (proof no good deed goes unpunished). For instance, if a coop heater breaks and cooks your fish you can easily share that horror story in the forum, in the reviews, or in the facebook group. Other brands just haven’t built a communicative collective of people to swap horror stories so they don’t get much bad press when the same things happen. Although I would like the heater again, I see why from a business perspective they aren’t selling it. I think they need to do more feasibility studies that account for the unique market dynamics affecting the coop products.

Glad you stuck around, especially after the plecos... just caught the last minute or two even though I fast forwarded to catch up! lol Enjoyed the topics, but the AC product that disappointed me most when it got pulled was the heater... that was a great product! Have a great rest of your week, Bentley! Thanks.

You could rescape the tank behind you while you doing the live stream ,just do an hour at time.

Hi Bentley, been having bad results with test strips (API, Tetra, Brand I found in Amazon). Took a sample to one of my local fish stores and everything was ok (reset tank to plenum a month ago) on their $1200 tester but I’ve always worried about nitrates and asked owner for a recommendation for a better test for home use.The store sells both salt and freshwater supplies. He pointed to Salifert that’s well regarded by the saltwater folks. I bought the salt nitrate kit and low and behold I got a similar result as the fancy machine. In case you’re wondering he used the correct freshwater cartridge in the in-store test. I search Amazon sells a “freshwater” Salifert kit.
Maybe consider a video series on different test kits?

I’m disappointed that they removed the heater. It has multiple features that I appreciate and not looking forward to having to purchase other brands again. Also regretting not going to the auction.

I got lucky and found one that is made by Hygger, it is a 50w but it has the same features. But I'm slightly sick over that, I really loved their heaters, such a great profile, construction, led and thermometer/Stat. Was so worth the cost tbh.

Thank you Bentley. Myself I came back 2 years ago after a 25 year hiatus. Son sat in tank on bureau, wife was not happy yatta yatta. Thanks for not quitting we need people like you in the hobby. Lots to learn and catch up on after that long👍.✌️🦐🐟🤙
