Can I just point out the fact that Chaeryeong's father was reading and liking comments under her fancams for the Sneakers comeback. A lot of people forget that idols are actually people, with families. Imagine her dad (or a family member from a member of any group) reading comments about her and finding a lot of hate, I hope that was not the case.
Idols like Yuna and Wonyoung being hated for their hyper-femininity reminds me all the time how deep misogyny runs in kpop. What's even sadder is a lot of this hate comes from women? It gives me trauma from my childhood when being a “girly girl.” was looked down upon. I guess nothing has changed.

Just as a whole I can’t understand people who send hate/discuss hateful topics in public spaces like it just feels wrong to me to hate people for things they can’t control. I was so surprised when IVE debuted because though I tried my best to remain neutral and unbiased all I kept seeing was how Wonyoung was a "pick me" or how she acted selfish and stole the show from her members. When IVE debuted I actually thought, wait.. Is this the girls these people have been talking about? Because she seemed to work well in her group and it seemed like all of the girls in her group got to shine. If anything my attention was pulled away from her by every other artist. I was genuinely surprised at the MV screentime distribution, line distribution, how every girl shined so much during their own parts. So now after Eleven (one of the best debut songs ever btw) and Love Dive I don't sense that the other girls are being "left behind" in IVE.

Aespa should have made it to the list.. Even if they were caught in mistakes people really over hate them.. Especially the other 4th gen fans.. Kpop fan since 2013, and I remember back when BTS and Blackpink started getting really popular internationally, all these new ‘kpop’ fans (that actually knew nothing about kpop other than those 2 groups) would act like kpop didn’t exist before their favs debuted.
I'm a new Kpop fan and I prefer the sound from 2nd gen Kpop, if it wasn't for them I probably wouldn't have started listening more to 3rd or 4th gen groups so it's really annoying when people start saying x should disband/retire. Like, focus on supporting your fav groups so maybe they will also last for many years dammit.

The nmixx one is SO true. I didn't like O.O, and while I agree it's catchy, I've only listened to the full song once because imo it's messy (I could really go on a full rant about everything that I find messy about it). But that's the producer's fault. I think the girls did extremely well with what they were given, and Lily's high note still gives me life even if I don't listen to the full song. It's the producers who made the song, not nmixx, so the girls shouldn't be getting the hate for it

I stayed out of Orbit spaces for a reeaallly long time cos I heard about how bad they were, and I wonder if perhaps their reputation was overhyped? Like, the stuff I saw from them during queendom was no worse than from other fandoms whose groups were in the show, and now that QD is over I havent seen them doing all that much 'toxic' stuff. And then in other performances other groups would throw hate, (and also some orbits, of course) but all I saw was orbits spamming Loona. Barely any negative comments. And then the next day, I saw a TikTok video about how orbits were throwing the most hate every time another group performed, as if no other group was. And literally spreading false info of orbits. And everyone was agreeing with them. It was crazy. They’re a bunch of hypocrites I tell you.
The hate train for Loona and Orbits is getting too obvious at this point. I know Q2 is over but I want to point out the OP did not discuss about the alleged rigged scores in Q2, especially the last round. Mnet claimed that WJSN had the most points due to the highest "unique listeners" on Spotify but the math did not add up. If you follow K-pop, you'll know that Mnet has a history of rigging tv show competitions so it is not far fetched to say that they rigged this show as well. I do not agree with pouring hate on WJSN at all, that is wrong and they don't deserve it but the hate towards WJSN was not mostly from orbits. From my experience, I saw the majority of orbits hating Mnet instead of WJSN. I also saw a lot of non Loona fans and Viviz fans venting about the final round and saying it was rigged.

as an orbit myself, i do have to say the reputation orbits have is overblown because at least from my experience, orbits only really fight back when LOONA ( & majority of the time ViVi only ) are attacked for something a single orbit has said. LOONA are constantly a punching bag for people even when orbits were not apart of an issue, people will just automatically assume that a shady tweet about a group came from an orbit when the account majority of the time is a fan of another group entirely. now as for the orbits vs wjsn problem, i WILL admit that a lot of orbits were being unfair with wjsn's win at the finale. i can also say that it was a lot of built up frustration with wjsn's interactions with or about LOONA during the entire show that the finale most likely made so many of us snap. from wjsn ( exy specifically ) finding every reason in the world to downvote loona starting in round 2, to the comment about loona needing to do a powerful choreo because 'it was about time they did so' - many of us did not take that as a compliment. doubled with the fact that loona themselves have said that people have unreasonably high expectations of them, orbits were and are sensitive when it comes to LOONA and how they are treated and viewed. it always feels like we have to work so much harder for them just to be recognized and not have their efforts downplayed. of course i cant see every hate tweet or something that a troll or toxic orbit puts out so obviously everyone's perceptions about orbits are gonna be different.
the reality show's dinamics forces the participants to say who they think is the worst because they know the fans are going to be stupid about it and start shit online, making the show trend and giving the higher ups money while the poor girls are thrown in the lion's den. if they hadn't chosen loona they would have to choose someone else and then that fandom would also start hating on them. it's not exy's fault if that made the loona members feel bad, it's the industry's.

More context for the Queendom situation: Mnet had posted a statement that points will still be given to LOONA after they caught the virus (which Mnet didn't), and caused an uproar in the LOONA fandom. And btw other Itzy members who haven't always been extremely thin get a free pass by fans for losing tons of weight and looking skinny now but Yuna who's always been the skinniest member gets backlash for it? So weird and unfair how Yuna gets treated differently by the kpop community. Let the girl live and breathe, she's only 18, always been polite, kind and hard working - and you all treat her like trash.

I 100% agree with your take on WJSN. Queendom really f them up. I think it's about time SOME orbits apologize to WJSN for their irrational behavior of hating WJSN. First, I agree that anyone who left hate for WJSN should really take it back. The WJSN stans who were trying their hardest to invalidate Orbits should also take several seats. One thing not mentioned in this video was how LOONA never spoke ill of any groups on Queendom. But WJSN couldn’t keep LOONA out of their mouth when it came to critique. I found this highly hypocritical because they literally washed rinse repeat for every performance. No one called them out on that, but they had to call out other groups as they did? I was really disappointed in them for that.
It's also about time you should know that toxic fans do what they do best: being toxic. And the fans you see apologising on behalf of these toxic fans didn't even cause the ruckus in the first place. These real fans will feel responsible and be remorseful for something they didn't do, while the toxic fans will continue spreading hatred no matter what and go about with their life not feeling anything for their bad manners. It's his choice what groups he want to include in to his videos. I agree that he would have included in many other groups to this, especially Skz, BTS, etc. (The hate they get is heartbreaking) But it's not wrong to not to include them. Every kpop group gets hate and sometimes people don't talk much about less popular groups and the hate they get and we should not forget that.
Commenting on WJSN, I went to twitter after they won on Queendom and dude Orbits were just hating on them and saying their group is clearly the best and the others weren't and things like that... I just have to say that those comments made the whole fandom seem as toxic. I don't want to generalize but those people didn't know that it wasn't the girl's fault at all it made really sad since I think the main objective of being in the program was to gain fans of these other fandoms and viewers of the show more than winning

For the WJSN vs LOONA, there's also more salt rubbed into the wound that WJSN voted LOONA as the worst performance every opportunity they got. Those points were minimal, but WJSN did strategically try to take points from LOONA whenever they could. Fans of both were looking forward to seeing cute interactions of their supposed friendships, but we never saw any of that. If anything, they were edited to seem rather cold towards each other (things like WJSN being mad when they saw LOONA were also on the show). I think Exy got evil edited too.
I want to talk about WJSN and Loona sections. For WJSN, as an orbit, you're definitely right. I think Loona objectively deserved that win but this is obviously not WJSN's fault. Blaming them is too immature. I only blamed WJSN (esp. Exy) for one thing and it was their reaction to Loona's Butterfly stage. They were making unnecessary comments but I still kinda blame Mnet for it too cus it was one of Mnet's evil plans to create a chaotic place. For Loona, yes orbits are toxic as hell. But nowadays, I see orbits's haters more than toxic orbits themselves. At this point people are overreacting to toxic fans to hate Loona. Also compare to other groups fandoms, orbit's safe place is way bigger.

It’s not that some of them are hated, most of them are just overshadowed by the young idols of 3rd and 4th gen. A 1st-2nd gen male idol I think that is hiding in the shadows a lot is Kangta. Back in the 1990s, he was like the Wonyoung of his group. Very popular, gets a fucking ton of lines, and has a criminally beautiful voice, to be honest, he is one of my favourite main vocals, because you don’t need to have the control and range in order to be a main vocal, you need to have a distinct voice or that can target music producers. Kangta may have a decent range, the highest note he can belt being a F5, but he’s also has a voice that resembles his personality, a sweet, soulful voice.

I dont know what happend with orbits, Ive been a loona stan since Kim Lip's eclipse and at the time the "stan loona" jokes were like gateways to make "chaotic energy" memes (NOT to bring other groups down), because at the time they really were underrated despite pumping out really good songs before even debuting. A lot of people forget that idols are actually people, with families. I was so surprised when IVE debuted because though I tried my best to remain neutral and unbiased all I kept seeing was how Wonyoung was a "pick me" or how she acted selfish and stole the show from her members.
When IVE debuted I actually thought, wait.. Is this the girls these people have been talking about? Because she seemed to work well in her group and it seemed like all of the girls in her group got to shine.
If anything my attention was pulled away from her by every other artist.

As a KPop enjoyer since 2009 (yeah. I'm old), one thing that really annoys me when it comes to 3rd/4th gen Stan is how dismissive and kinda rude they are towards senior idol. Like sorry, your idol global fame is not solely because of the hard work of your idol alone. Many before them cleared the path so this generation of K-Pop can reap the Fame and success of generational hard work. At least respect them. Sure, we can criticize them, but in a polite way, please.
And because they're older, doesn't mean they don't have any fans or people who genuinely want to listen their music. Not everyone like 4th gen experimental sound. There's so many niche that cannot be filled by 3rd/4th gen group. So yeah...

I'm a new Kpop fan and I prefer the sound from 2nd gen Kpop, if it wasn't for them I probably wouldn't have started listening more to 3rd or 4th gen groups so it's really annoying when people start saying x should disband/retire. The nmixx one is SO true. I didn't like O.O, and while I agree it's catchy, I've only listened to the full song once because imo it's messy (I could really go on a full rant about everything that I find messy about it). But that's the producer's fault. I think the girls did extremely well with what they were given, and Lily's high note still gives me life even if I don't listen to the full song. It's the producers who made the song, not nmixx, so the girls shouldn't be getting the hate for it

I stayed out of Orbit spaces for a reeaallly long time cos I heard about how bad they were, and I wonder if perhaps their reputation was overhyped? Like, the stuff I saw from them during queendom was no worse than from other fandoms whose groups were in the show, and now that QD is over I havent seen them doing all that much 'toxic' stuff. Dont get me wrong, the toxic ones are out there, but mostly I just see people call Orbits toxic so that they can throw hate on Loona unprovoked...

And then in other performances other groups would throw hate, (and also some orbits, of course) but all I saw was orbits spamming Loona. Barely any negative comments. And then the next day, I saw a TikTok video about how orbits were throwing the most hate every time another group performed, as if no other group was. And literally spreading false info of orbits. And everyone was agreeing with them. It was crazy. They’re a bunch of hypocrites I tell you.
The hate train for Loona and Orbits is getting too obvious at this point. I know Q2 is over but I want to point out the OP did not discuss about the alleged rigged scores in Q2, especially the last round. Mnet claimed that WJSN had the most points due to the highest "unique listeners" on Spotify but the math did not add up. If you follow K-pop, you'll know that Mnet has a history of rigging tv show competitions so it is not far fetched to say that they rigged this show as well. I do not agree with pouring hate on WJSN at all, that is wrong and they don't deserve it but the hate towards WJSN was not mostly from orbits. From my experience, I saw the majority of orbits hating Mnet instead of WJSN. I also saw a lot of non Loona fans and Viviz fans venting about the final round and saying it was rigged.

Their music is not as bad as you make it seem, Rosé is still a great vocalist, and they have maybe the best gg rap line. Their actually an ok band. Deal with it.

And also no - they are not karina and friends. The line distribution is fair, the screen time distribution is fair, Karinas just the most of an all-rounder so she sticks out in a good way. as an orbit myself, i do have to say the reputation orbits have is overblown because at least from my experience, orbits only really fight back when LOONA ( & majority of the time ViVi only ) are attacked for something a single orbit has said. LOONA are constantly a punching bag for people even when orbits were not apart of an issue, people will just automatically assume that a shady tweet about a group came from an orbit when the account majority of the time is a fan of another group entirely.
now as for the orbits vs wjsn problem, i WILL admit that a lot of orbits were being unfair with wjsn's win at the finale. i can also say that it was a lot of built up frustration with wjsn's interactions with or about LOONA during the entire show that the finale most likely made so many of us snap. from wjsn ( exy specifically ) finding every reason in the world to downvote loona starting in round 2, to the comment about loona needing to do a powerful choreo because 'it was about time they did so' - many of us did not take that as a compliment. doubled with the fact that loona themselves have said that people have unreasonably high expectations of them, orbits were and are sensitive when it comes to LOONA and how they are treated and viewed. it always feels like we have to work so much harder for them just to be recognized and not have their efforts downplayed.

More context for the Queendom situation: Mnet had posted a statement that points will still be given to LOONA after they caught the virus (which Mnet didn't), and caused an uproar in the LOONA fandom. I feel like the hate shouldn't be given to WJSN, but should instead be given to Mnet. I also think Orbits got mad at WJSN because in 1/2 episodes Exy said that the performance wasn't memorable.

I 100% agree with your take on WJSN. Queendom really f them up. I think it's about time SOME orbits apologize to WJSN for their irrational behavior of hating WJSN. It's about time they realize that it's not WJSN's fault and rather this whole ordeal is MNET's fault. I just feel really heartbroken for the girls getting hated for something they did not do.
First, I agree that anyone who left hate for WJSN should really take it back. The WJSN stans who were trying their hardest to invalidate Orbits should also take several seats.
One thing not mentioned in this video was how LOONA never spoke ill of any groups on Queendom. But WJSN couldn’t keep LOONA out of their mouth when it came to critique. I found this highly hypocritical because they literally washed rinse repeat for every performance. No one called them out on that, but they had to call out other groups as they did? I was really disappointed in them for that.
It's also about time you should know that toxic fans do what they do best: being toxic. And the fans you see apologising on behalf of these toxic fans didn't even cause the ruckus in the first place. These real fans will feel responsible and be remorseful for something they didn't do, while the toxic fans will continue spreading hatred no matter what and go about with their life not feeling anything for their bad manners. Apologies don't work when talking about k-pop stans especially. I hate to admit it but we're already being frowned upon by other community; we're simply f*cked.

the AGE SHAMING. Holy shit. I've been a k-pop stan since early 2011 and the amount of times I've seen younger/newer k-pop fans shame any idol or fan over the age of 20 makes me so unnecessarily mad. You only see this shit in k-pop where apparently respecting your elders holds no meaning.
I would also add Aespa to the list. They get hated for every single thing - for singing live, for not singing live, for dancing, for their concept. You name it.

Commenting on WJSN, I went to twitter after they won on Queendom and dude Orbits were just hating on them and saying their group is clearly the best and the others weren't and things like that... I just have to say that those comments made the whole fandom seem as toxic. I don't want to generalize but those people didn't know that it wasn't the girl's fault at all it made really sad since I think the main objective of being in the program was to gain fans of these other fandoms and viewers of the show more than winning

nmixx were honestly done so dirty with O.O. The members are clearly super talented, and don't deserve the messy track they were given. Also, Wonyoung seriously can't do anything without getting hate. I literally saw her getting hate for the way she threw a baseball, when she was instructed by a professional to throw it in a certain way. She's incredibly hardworking and talented, and deserves more praise for her abilities to perform, and keep up with her insane schedule.
I'm mostly a 3/4th generation stan (since 2018) however, it's not fair for Loona or any other groups to get hate because of their fandom. Also, veteran idols getting age shamed... That's not okay.

I'm an orbit(loona's fandom) but I just can't understand why Orbits are attacking wjsn. And why other Orbits are behaving so bad. Yeah you can hate some Orbits but not all Orbits are like that. Mostly Japanese Orbits are so nice and they have very good behavior. Please love loona because they did nothing wrong. The wrong people are the weird Orbits who comment badly about other idols.
Loona deserve better treatment from k-pop fans. They're literally hated for something that they can't control. Some people even wanted loona to disband (Not to mention they're fave disband few days later after they wanted to loona disband). For the WJSN vs LOONA, there's also more salt rubbed into the wound that WJSN voted LOONA as the worst performance every opportunity they got. Those points were minimal, but WJSN did strategically try to take points from LOONA whenever they could. Fans of both were looking forward to seeing cute interactions of their supposed friendships, but we never saw any of that. If anything, they were edited to seem rather cold towards each other (things like WJSN being mad when they saw LOONA were also on the show). I think Exy got evil edited too.
I want to talk about WJSN and Loona sections.
For WJSN, as an orbit, you're definitely right. I think Loona objectively deserved that win but this is obviously not WJSN's fault. Blaming them is too immature. I only blamed WJSN (esp. Exy) for one thing and it was their reaction to Loona's Butterfly stage. They were making unnecessary comments but I still kinda blame Mnet for it too cus it was one of Mnet's evil plans to create a chaotic place.
For Loona, yes orbits are toxic as hell. But nowadays, I see orbits's haters more than toxic orbits themselves. At this point people are overreacting to toxic fans to hate Loona. Also compare to other groups fandoms, orbit's safe place is way bigger.
Nmixx is in NO WAY an embarrassment to JYPE. Nmixx is one of the most talented groups musically that the company holds rn

A 1st-2nd gen male idol I think that is hiding in the shadows a lot is Kangta. Back in the 1990s, he was like the Wonyoung of his group. Very popular, gets a fucking ton of lines, and has a criminally beautiful voice, to be honest, he is one of my favourite main vocals, because you don’t need to have the control and range in order to be a main vocal, you need to have a distinct voice or that can target music producers. Kangta may have a decent range, the highest note he can belt being a F5, but he’s also has a voice that resembles his personality, a sweet, soulful voice.

I dont know what happend with orbits, Ive been a loona stan since Kim Lip's eclipse and at the time the "stan loona" jokes were like gateways to make "chaotic energy" memes (NOT to bring other groups down), because at the time they really were underrated despite pumping out really good songs before even debuting.
