I personally dislike crossfit for many reasons, but I thought this was a very we'll taught instructional for the kids. Teaching the kids how to move properly is a great thing to do.

I bet there's gonna be broke haters on this comment section even after watching this excellent instructional video. Two kinds of people that make fun of crossfit. People who can't afford it and people who don't understand it.

      gatoblanconzful & Jason Aguirre
Crossfit.com workouts are freely posted, there is a plethora of free instructional pieces (like this video) that CrossFit publishes, and all work outs can be scaled to body weight levels (free equipment), or you can make small personal investments on equipment.
That's how I go about doing CrossFit and it doesn't cost me much money.
You must be referring to the "costs" of professional trainers and physical establishments to work out with a support group, I guess.

Crossfit is NOT too expensive. It's community oriented, it's constantly varying, and it's an extreme endurance builder. For 100-150 on avg.. You get that plus a personal trainer. How much is a personal trainer at golds for only a few sessions..?? Isn't it funny how those same trainers (not specifically from golds or trainers) I'm talking trainers that hate on CF, offer a boot camp course???

I really like that kids are taught lifting. I also like, when the instructions are good. These are good instructions for a first time instruction. I hope, that the kids will learn to have more focus on the back and especially the neck, before they go do them in any kind of workout. The technique is crucial and - as if in any other sport - if the technique is not taught probably, they will have to relearn it all over again - mostly after having problem with headache, backache etc. later in life. So please - keep up the good work and focus more on good technique before using it in workouts.
Teaching weightlifting or powerlifting to kids is awesome and if you go to a weigthlifting club, everybody knows, that mobility and technique comes first - hell, some places the kids are not allowed to use anything other than broomsticks, before they hit the exact right angles. There is a reason for that. Please - Don't let the eager to do a WOD change that. Ever.

It's good coaching, except loading error. I suggest that she watches Mobilitywod.com videos on loading order in the dead lift. Thats going to build bad habits and the fact that our youth is being taught this way isn't for the best.
Just a little fix is all it needs. Other than that, awesome job.

Getting kids into proper movement is a great idea not only for injury prevention and kinesthetic awareness but just for overall happiness of the child.

I completely disagree with uksteveee. Kids growing up in post-industrial nations often dont get enough physical interaction and will have no idea how to properly use their body unless they are shown. Its a great idea if done in supportive and fun way

Yeah, let them play video games and eat like crap then once they're done "being kids" we can fix their obesity and reverse the diabetes.

In under no circumstances should children lift any kind of weight aswel with a rounded back. The only exercises children should be doing is bodyweight exercises. This video should be taking down as it promotes weight lifting and crossfit to children.

These instructors should really follow Kelly Starrett's deadlift techniques. Head should be aligned with a straight back (Cervical spine is still part of the spine).
