I love John's songs, they are so down to earth and human. Fly away, far away. This song really shows off the fluidity of Freddie's voice. What a great performance! Great reaction, thank you!
I love John's songs too - he was a bit of a romantic with many of his lyrics, but yet he also wrote "Another one Bites the Dust"! This song is one of my Queen favourites, and this version is brilliant.
@@janettesinclair6279 Yup there's Another one bites the dust, spread your wings, you're my best friend, friends will be friends, I want to break free. And then there's Misfire...👀
This has always been my favorite. I lived in Mexico for four years. My friends played the guitar, too, and we had so much fun. It was our "School of Rock" of Queen. In October, 1981, i saw them perform in Puebla with a Mexican girlfriend. She was transported. Suffice to say, Queen is responsible for many babies, you know.
I love the BBC SESSIONS!! This is absolutely a yummy treat, David. 🍭🍬 My favorite Deaky song! Freddie thought it was one of John’s strongest songs.🎵 I saw a clip of Freddie doing a sound check on stage & he sang a portion of this song! QUEEN’S AMAZING 👑👑

I put this song at the top of my Queen favourites. News of the World was the first album I ever bought, saved my pocket money for weeks, money was well spent that day. Loved this review, Queen early stuff was the best
Queen's BBC sessions are great. Freddie's way of changing his delivery, plus his ad-libs, like in "See What A Fool I've Been" & others from the sessions, are fun to hear. Yeah, I never picked up on the piano before.
"Spread Your Wings" will forever remain one of my all time favorite Queen tracks. The vocals and instrumentals are top notch! Would expect nothing less! Great reaction! ❤

The 1977 BBC sessions were only available on bootlegs until a few years ago. This, to me, is the definitive version of this track. These same sessions also saw the band doing the fast version of We Will Rock You, which they brought into their live shows around that time. PS - These are not live!!! They were recorded in a studio. These are basically alternate studio versions... all of the band's BBC tracks were pre recorded. Some have the same backing track with alternate vocals, some added guitar. They wanted them to sound live, but they were never once live ;)
@@johngraham5996 Actually, yes. If I remember correctly, it was a reading from a book called 'The Siddhartha' by Herman Hesse.
