Watched this about 10 times before I felt brave enough to change out the stock spring for an eagle6 m100. A few beers later and decided to leave it till the morning! Woke up at 6am, watched one more time and about 45 mins later had my 416D all back together and shooting at 335. Thanks again Sam, great video!
This is the very best video to strip a 416 always taken it to a tech before, never had the balls to do it myself, until now. Even managed to repair my RIF without the need of expert help, thanks for posting.
Brilliant video, incredibly informative. I really like how you're so calm and knowledgeable about this system, really calmed my nerves about buying one and then tecking it.
Thanks to your video, I have completely upgraded my marui 416 With all prometheus parts, eagle 6 spring, and an option no.1 brushless motor, it nows shoots like a dream!
Can't believe I've watched this several times and never realised it was you guys! My 416 will be on the way to you soon, I just gotta get a UPS shipping pouch/clear plastic shipping tape to attach the label.
Thank you for such a great video. I'll need to replace my hop rubber (bb's are flying all over the place) and seeing you go through taking the barrel out makes it seem so easy. Thank you again
Yeah, sometimes the guys on the assembly line can be a bit liberal with the threadlock. After blow-torching the castle nut, I occasionally have to hold the gun flat and hit the Laylax Recoil Wrench with a mallet. Not ideal but needs-must.
@@lemonjelly wow, I've been having this exact issue, used a blowtorch, soldering iron, heat gun. Won't budge. It's good to see I'm not the only one not being able to get those screws out. I've been trying to replace the stock castle nut for the laylax one but I have yet to remove the buffer!!
Ive been looking for a raptor style charging handle for this rifle but have been unsuccessful, are there any known TM recoil conpatiable Raptor charging handles on the market?
Nice video, Im trying to see why my Marui 416s outer barrel has an ever so slight slant, downwards. know how to correct this? or how to take apart the RIS as i cant get that nut to nudge.
Hi Kingdom of Airsoft, just wondering. How durable is the TM HK416 Devgru internally and externally? Like if you accidentally drop it in the field or bump it during play, will it hold up well or will it break down?
Could you give advise on how to correctly bend open the tabs that hold on the end bell on these types of motors? I usually only disassemble motors with a locking ring like you see on SHS and Systema, but I currently have a JG Blue that I currently need to shim the arm and I don't want to break the end bell, like I have done so in the past opening a ZCI High Torque
how does the recoil shock part actually work? In the 416c there's a huge metal bolt in the small stock that whacks the back giving you the effect. I'm currently trying to swap out the stock for a different one whilst keeping the recoil element but can't figure out how it works in the 416D and the others.
Hey man! If i were to just swap out the spring for a ms100 spring, would that be harmful for the rest of the internals? Same question goes for the aks74n btw, i have both and i would like a bit higher fps on both haha
I'm converting my HK416 into a DMR and I am trying to fit some short VN styled mags into the gun however in order to do so I must remove those to pieces that make up the simulated bolt release feature. If I remove those will it affect anything other than the fact that I wont be able to use the bolt release feature?
You don't have to remove them, they just won't be activated. If you pick up one of the magazine adapters, you'll be able to use the TM VN mid-caps with no other modifications :)
hey there, thanks for the video. great help to stage my insane project of transplanting a 416C gearbox (with the front wiring) and the upper/handguard onto the normal 416D. just a quick question, is the buffer tube mil spec or commercial spec? thanks again!
Hi, I'm thinking in buying some upgrades for my HK416 Devgru of Marui. I wanna buy a piston, piston head, spring guide and spring (M95) In this configuration, do you thing I need to buy a reinforced gear set and bushings as well ? Thanks!
I would recommend a set of FLT Steel bushings. The gears aren’t a strict necessity but the stock sector gear will wear out over time so I generally do recommend an aftermarket replacement set.
Hi, so I just got my TM 416d and want to increase the FPS and range a little so am thinking about a barrel thing is I’ve done a 1000 pound this month so would like a not to expensive option, please any advice. Thanks.
This is a great video! I have recently subbed, as of typing this comment actually. I really need to ask though, is this TM 416D Disassembly roughly the same as the TM 417 Recoil Shock? I ask as I intend on removing the two tone paint however I see no videos online and would prefer to avoid going in blind. A reply would help me SO much but I understand, you seem to be a busy man.
They do work loose sometimes. I use Loctite 266 threadlock to keep everything in place, it’s strong enough to hold but not so strong it can’t be removed. Tightening up the castle but using a proper tool is also essential but you may need something to grip the receiver and buffer tube.
I do have a video that shows you how to solder wire to the contact bars in the stock. It's a little tricky but that's my recommended method for installing a LiPo adapter. ua-cam.com/video/GINVgRpZt-A/v-deo.html
I generally use my own custom motors. They are based on the Action Army 30K motors but come with a number of improvements: Fully encapsulated armature - improves heat dissipation, chemical resistance and completely prevents thrown windings. Shimmed armature Skimmed commutator Modded Brush Hoods to allow the brushes to move correctly Soldered Brush Shunt wires to superior power transfer and reliability
The Springs for the TM Recoil platform are shorter, stronger Linear springs. You can use regular springs but you'll find it harder to close the gearbox (for a SCAR/AK/G36) and harder to screw on the buffer tube (for an M4/416/417). They also won't give the fps output they're rated for, so you'll have to play around with different lengths to get your desired power. Eagle6 make some excellent springs, they're what I use in all my builds.
husky12347 With the recoil system left intact, about 20rps is as far as I would ever push these. 16-18 is very reliable and will last for years with the right setup. You can remove the recoil system if you want to increase the RoF. There are a lot of other features that make it a desirable base still. You couldn't get 40rps as fast gear sets don't exist but maybe 30-35rps with an 11.1v LiPo is achievable.
No problem at all :) They both have much the same kick as they come but the HK416 (or any that have an AR style buffer tube) can have the spring easily upgraded to give a much stronger recoil. Converting the sliding stocks over to take LiPos is pretty easy but you do need to do some soldering. Here's my video showing the best method for doing this: ua-cam.com/video/GINVgRpZt-A/v-deo.html The Samarium Cobalt motor that comes with the HK417 is one of the best stock (and upgraded) motors available in airsoft today. There's no need to replace or upgrade it at all :)
The only place I know of that sells upgraded Recoil Springs is Eagle6 in the UK. Given how weak the £ is against the $ right now, it's the ideal time to buy stuff from the UK ;) A lot of people butcher the internals of the stock to run the wires straight through, it's certainly easier that way and requires much less soldering skill. The sliding contact system is really neat though and benefits the gun more than it detracts. Most of the electrical resistance is in the fuse assembly, which I strip out anyway, so it is better to do it that way if you can. I'm actually working on setting up an international shipping account so we can sort out international collections and return delivery for a much better price, closer to $70 each way hopefully :)
Soldering the contact bars is more difficult because they act like big heat-sinks, so getting the end to the correct temperature for soldering requires more than just a soldering iron. Your best bet for a Spectre is signing up to the BTC mailing list or trawling through the forums. Be prepared to pay a premium for a second hand one though.
Is it possible for me to send you my gun for some upgrades if I live in the US? I'm thinking of getting a tm 416 recoil shock soon and I don't know of anyone else really that can work on them and upgrade them thanks!
Yeah, that's no problem at all :) Postage can be pretty expensive but I have the paperwork sorted on my end to accept international orders. With the exchange rate the way it is now, you get better value for money anyway :)

excellent explaination of dissassembly. Thanks
Great video
Holy cow. I've blow torched the buffer tube screws for a good 5 minutes. Still wont budge.
Marui is ridiculous.
Yeah, sometimes the guys on the assembly line can be a bit liberal with the threadlock.
After blow-torching the castle nut, I occasionally have to hold the gun flat and hit the Laylax Recoil Wrench with a mallet.
Not ideal but needs-must.
Turns out the factory assembler drowned it in red loctite. Had to drill it out in the end.
Oh well. Thanks for the video; very helpful!

Plz make a reassembly video!!
Nice video, thank you so much ! can you make another one for reassenbling the TM HK416 ?
Is there a Video for the front half of the gun? Looking to. Hangs the outer barrel mine broke
You let all the Marui fairys out!
Don't worry, I've upgraded them to Wizards ;)

What does that motor and wires do in this gun. How does it works plz explain

will the standard piston hold up for a m100 spring and spektra mosfet. without aoe being correct??

The buffer tube is Mil-Spec

you can install mosfets in this gun ? i want to get one in about a year or so. also would you mind if i sent the gun to you to put in upgrades ?
hi‼️where can you please help or tell me where can i get hold of a next gen btc specter.?thanks.

Is this the version 1 or 2 of the recoil shock 416?
Could you use the reciver yo drop a normal v2 ?
how can i get the spring out of the piston? theres no screw on the top of my piston
You need to drill out the front of the piston with a sharp 5mm drill bit to show the screw head :)
How do you resemble it
How can you open up a TM? You will drain the magic. I have been told it kills the fairy's who live inside by opening a TM up.
I bet your a beginner.
What motor did you put in
