The way I interrupt this song is that Link has reset the cycle, and now understands just how alone he really is. The only person who has any idea of what is going on is Tatl, so when Zelda's Lullaby plays, it represents how much he misses home and his friends, and how he must have the strength to move on.

2:21 He sings a familiar tune to himself to keep calm in this strange and unfamiliar land. A tune that reminds him of home and his original quest. He is a hero, and he will save this land.

Everytime I listen to, all I can picture is Link being so happy that going back through time temporarily saved these people. This almost dreamlike state of knowing what will happen to the denizens of Termina, but knowing that for now, they're safe. It's the feeling that he knows if he just keeps pushing forward, he will succeed while turning back time to keep these people out of harm's way.

But unfortunately, We never know if time is truly reversed, and we just reset the timeline, hence, the futility of some things in life. We are but shells, hoping for something greater.. And that hope will some day be in reach. But will we be happy then? We will have to find out.

This game and Ocarina were so ahead of their time. I would KILL to have big screen remakes on console of these two games with this kind of music.
I mean...playing cheery music while there’s an ominous theme creeping in louder and louder each day? Brilliance.

Agreed 200%. MM is easily my favorite LoZ title, and I really hope it's revisited one day. With all the craziness going on in 2020, returning to that game would be especially poignant

Bro, that kind of theatrical production has been begged for years. The only reason IMO I think it has not happened yet is because it would topple giants like Avatar, Star Wars, and Avengers.
      Hollywood does not want that

This is gonna sound weird, but bear with me.
I went to bootcamp in 2001. And I kept whistling and humming the Clocktown theme the entire time. Some dudes even commented on it lol.
And my mom showed up to my bootcamp graduation and it was a wonderful surprise.
I lost mom a year ago. It happens, that's how life is supposed to go.
But this song reminds me of walking her around bootcamp, and its wistful and longing.
    I love you Mom.

In no game have I found anything more relieving than playing the song of time just when you have seconds before the worlds destruction. This catches that feeling perfectly, watching as the moon is about to crush everything, and then turning time back to before it all began. Great job!

Love how well this song encompasses how the early morning feels, the orange-blue sunrise and the gleam of dew on the grass, it's cold and you can see your breath on the air, everything bathed in a golden phantasmagoric haze.

The Hero of Time opened his eyes, and what he saw surprised him.
    Sunlight.'
Link blinked several times to make certain that he wasn't dreaming. He wasn't sure if what he was seeing was real, yet here it was, the ball of fire rising in the sky, its light heralding the Dawn of a New Day. In the spot where he stood in the lush green fields of Termina, Link could here birds chirping, children laughing, and the distant sound of fire works. They had survived the encounter with Majora.
Unknowingly to Link, tears of joy ran down his cheeks, a smile parting his lips. The warm breeze of the new morning was welcoming to him as he stood in the middle of the field, with the business of Clock Town to his right. Link would have given anything to just stand there for as long as he wished, but there were things that needed to be done. If anything, there was the Carnival of Time to enjoy. Soon, he heard a deep voice in his head.
"Well done Link, Hero of Time. You have don well in saving the people of my land in my stead," proclaimed the Fierce Deity, or rather, Termina as he was called in ancient times. The praise of the god washed over him in a explosion of relief and joy. The Deity's voice continued to emanate from within the Mask which Link held in his hands.
"As my otherworldly brother and Hylian counterpart, I commend you, and believe you are worthy of your title as the Hero. I am glad that I was able to help you on your quest to put an end to Majora's destruction. You and I have suffered much on this journey through one another, but know that we prevailed against the beast in the end."
As Termina's spirit continued to speak, Link found it much harder to restrain his tears.both of joy for the preservation of this land and its people, but also for worry of his Hyrule. he worried for King Rhoam and Zelda and all of the races of his homeland. He fell to his knees in the warm grass, clutching onto his counterpart's-no- his brother's Mask.
Link felt something on his shoulder and looked up with a gasp.
The Fierce Deity's spirit stood before him. he was as tall as Link, but didn't seem to have a physical form. A bluish fire surrounded his armor clad body. Despite being a spirit, he helped Link from his crouched position in the lush grass. The god held the boy in his inexplicably strong grip, helping him stay steady. Termina then smiled at his Hylian brother. "Do not fret Link, Hyrule's fate is not for certain. Do not dwell on things that might happen, but focus on today so we can make a better future."
Link gave him a watery smile.
    "Thanks Termina."
The Deity smiled again, joy in his pure white eyes. He put an arm around Link's shoulder "Come, Let us go to the Carnival, it will be celebrated in your honor Link PercivalAvalon, Hero of Time." Termina placed his gauntlet covered hand on his Fierce Deity's Mask and his spirit was transferred back into it. The eyes of the Mask glowed white for a second before Link secured it onto the belt that held his Gilded Sword and Moonrise Shield.
It rested there against his chest, along with the other transformation masks that acquired on his journey.
Taking a deep breath Link made his march to the lively bustling Clock Town, as Tatl flew onto his shoulder. Her golden light was bright with joy. The two of them could only smile as they continued on. ready to brave whatever the Dawn of a New Day had in store for them.
As the four giants sang the deep melodious calls from the four corners of Termina, Link couldn't help but feel that all was right with the world. Clenching his fists in anticipation, the mark of the Triforce of Courage glowed as Link entered the city walls.
The land of Termina was finally at peace.

Sorry for the late reply, but thanks for reading my little piece!
To answer your question, that's something that I have thought about for a bit, but I just think of writing as a hobby. Maybe sometime farther I may start a career in writing.
      Thanks again for reading!

The start of the song makes me feel like I'm in Link's shoes, traveling through a comforting white void of time. As soon as you hear the melody of clock town, the void starts to break, like being woken up from a dream and being in a daze still. Then you hear the sounds of the citizens of Clock Town, and reality sets in, "everything has... started over". This cover perfectly shows how Link must feel in this situation. Sure everything is reset, the comforting melody of Clock Town is there, but you know that the moon will still crash in 3 days. Dawn of the First Day -72 hours remaining.

Theophany, I don´t know if you´ll read this, but I really want to thank you anyway. THIS IS ART. This is the heart of the game but in music. This is exactly the same Pink Floyd did with "Animal farm". Thank you, thank you, thank you.

So, hi there. I came here because I love this game and its music, but, when I heard it I remembered something this game taught me and that I will never forget. So, in life ( specially at your 20s) you feel like you are not doing enough and that u just lost your chance and now there is no more time to make the decision, you feel lost and u feel like "thats it, i messed it up now there is no more chances". But, the thing is there IS more chances. Nowadays in social media people are spreading the message that if in your 20s you didnt find a job, finish college, have a girlfriend/boyfriend etc, etc you are doing it wrong and that now its too late. And you know what? that is totally a lie. There is time, u can slow down and relax, life isnt a race or a competition. Everything will come when it should come. So yeah, there is time and you can try again and again. The real question is, do you really want to try again. And, what you should do is be like link and just try again, and instead of saving termina save yourself. Its never too late, there is always time and there always will be someone with you. Even if it doesnt feel like it, there is always someone or even your pet that cares about you. So, the next time you feel like it, what you do is slow down and think and then act. Because you matter and you can do it. Bye everyone have a great life.

Cloud the Fox Actually, some of his songs were used in the Majora's Mask animated short "Terrible Fate" by Emberlab. I'd look it up, if I were you. It's a high quality animation so good, Nintendo themselves have it in their liked videos playlist.

I can image this being in a movie series ( or show ) where each movie is links separate times in termina and each movie ( or ark ) is named corresponding to all the large events/bosses, say “Majoras Mask: Begginings “ then MM Oldolwa, Goht, Gyorg, Twinmold, and Memory. Each movie will have some side quests for the area link travels to as well and at the end of the movie you can see how link has grown as a person as he leaves to go find Navi with all the memories of the people of termina with him.
I wish this would be real
