Yep, long time ago picked up a second hand ZT0562 that ended up being a clone. I keep in my collection to remind me to pay more attention when buying used knives.
Yep there are a lot of scammers out there. Just bought my first knife over the net & gotta admit I was a little anxious. The sellers handle was one I recognized from many comment sections of knife videos so that gave me some comfort although fake profile names are popping up on so many videos on the tube these days. Anyway sad experience for you to go through & at least you did make a good public service video out of it. My purchase was the real deal. Sorry for the loss of that Chimera.
Been through the same with a Spyderco Schemp. When I confronted him he just said "then I was scammed too" because he bought it from a "friend". At first he claimed he bought it new.
Beware of clones on Amazon as well. With so many scammers out there I pretty much stick to authorized dealers at this point. Sin is rampant everywhere, man.
Really appreciate this video. I have never bought through the secondary market for these reasons Altough I have wanted to make plenty of purchases. In the back of my mind is always it’s probably a cheap clone
Sorry that hasn't to you bro. I had someone similar happen. As far as me not doing my homework because it was a knife UA-camr. Traded my first high end knife. I accidentally ordered a xm18 3" instead of the 3 ½. I ended up getting my knives weeks late and not what the trade was supposed to be for. It was completely my fault because I was trusting 🤷🏽♂️. The one knife I got that was kind of Worth something was a para 3 light weight. It was so unbelievably bad it looks like my 4 year old assembled it. 🤦🏽♂️
Thanks man I'm trying to look at it as an opportunity not to lose out on a more valuable knife later on, but I also can't forget my part in something that was completely avoidable had I done my research on the front end instead of the backend when it was too late
Same thing happened to me on Reddit. I'd been after a pena bravo for so long and still am. Somebody messaged me with pictures saying they had one. The deal was too good to be true and I screwed up and used f and f instead of g and s. The last I heard dude was sending a tracking number then his account disappeared. Then he tried to message me on a different account saying he wasn't a scammer but then what do ya know, that account was deleted when I actually tried to get some information. So I'm super mega ultra thorough now. Never had problems on ebay or Amazon or any knife retailers.. but when you start using yard sale sites like that without much protection its a much bigger risk.. I'd never have used it if I could find that dang knife anywhere else. And the users most definitely aren't going to give you any advice. Just make fun because you made a mistake so I chose not to have anything to do with it anymore.

Thanks for the support, this experience definitely left me a bit salty but mainly because I could have protected my interests better and didn't, in hindsight I actually did get what I asked for, I got a piece of content to give to my audience, just wasn't the content I was after..I guess this is why they say be careful what you wish for

I've had good experiences on K_S but it's definitely hit or miss, there's definitely some knives I'd never consider getting there, any microtech, CRK, Benchmade anthem etc. If the guy your buying from has more than 25 sales chances are he's not gonna blow up his spot over a single item. I did see from your screeshot he got flagged as SCAMMER so at least there's that.... God damn Keeter.
never ever feel pressured buying more knives to deliver content, if your vids are good your subscribers won't walk away because you aren't posting for a few weeks👍

I have heard the not delivered or says delivery was made and I didn’t receive it All around sucks 😊when these things happen. Sorry for your being scammed. Yeah it took a while but I recouped 100$ on insurance, the extra cash that I had thrown in since paypal ruled in my favor..but lost my chimera..would have rather just lost the money and gotten the knife back but I'll chalk the loss up to paying for the learning experience and in the end I did get a knife to make content with...you know how they say be careful what you wish for? 😅
@Paul Mills the knife wasn't super rare when it was available but it was discontinued a while back, I haven't seen any on the secondhand market and you can't buy them brand new anywhere..full titanium frame lock flipper construction s35vn blade full size knife with all matching t8 hardware and REALLY good action..people loved to do custom ano on the scales due to the design lines being really well set up for that but it just comes down to the fact that I can't replace it anymore

Luckily, most people are good, and I've not hit a bad interaction yet, but I know my time will come. I hate that people love to try to ruin a good thing, but the outlet I use does pretty well self moderating and keeping it straighy.straight.. Always an asshole in every crowd though 😔
Good old m3p(parmesean) it's a super cheese but makes for terrible edge retention on a knife 😂 yeah man getting scammed socks but I learned a valuable lesson and hopefully this helps others learn from my mistakes too

this is why i always ask for a photo of the knife and a little paper with a timestamp (my name + date) on it.

@@Rollshambo is the chimera a rare knife from WE? I don't own any WE knives but they have alot of knives I think are awesome looking knives.
