Scott is an amazing teacher and I have personally learned so much from him over the last two decades. Have been listening to hanselminutes since the first episode. He was also someone who inspired me to blog and participate in open source projects through his blogs and talks back then. I literally see him as a virtual mentor. Respect.
Scott, you got me thinking about the difference between efficiency and effectiveness. How about this... efficiency is a measure of output RELATIVE to input - effectiveness is the ABSOLUTE measure of output regardless of input.
Also...just listening to the first few minutes of this... it hits home. Esp once he started talking about the piles of unread books being a monument to our failure(s), etc. I've got a horrendous case of adult ADD and with that comes a powerful phenomenon called "Analysis Paralysis" (which basically sums up the whole pile of unread books that you 'mean' to read in a particular order...or, wait, maybe not THAT order....THIS order would be better..... ). I've tried so many things to get my head working straight (as opposed to ua-cam.com/video/ouZrZa5pLXk/v-deo.html). I wonder what advice he would have for someone like me. I admit, there are some things I haven't tried. There are one or two particular drugs that are supposed to help many folks like me, but they are also pretty strong stimulants (basically amphetamine), and unfortunately along with extreme attention issues I also happen to be prone to extreme anxiety (started around age 30 -- I'm now 40) and the WORST possible thing for me are strong stimulants....

Scott is dead on. People love to say "I don't have time to do x", but somehow they're always on top of the new Netflix show. If the only time that you ever possibly have is if you got up at 4AM or went to bed at 12AM, then so be it. Obviously you want your sleep because that's important, but we all have 24hrs in our day.
