Man we have ruined so many animals habitat that it makes me sick. We cut down the forest so monkeys and apes have very little home range left or it's like these poor monkeys who have no place to go, so they try to make a living in our neighborhoods. I mean you can't blame them since they have nowhere else to go. Its the same with the Koala Bear in Australia. They keep cutting down trees so they live in neighborhoods now. Its truly sad that we do this to animals on land and in the oceans. It's going to be to late by the time people try to reverse it or animals are gonna go extinct.

Wildlife like bears, cougers, wolves come into town looking for food. A few get hit by cars on the highway. Sad that they pay for our mistakes. If a bear becomes a nuisance, they will usually have to kill it.

In 1965, at the age of 5, I had a run in with one of these little bastards! He wanted what I had. I was not going to give it up. I have an older brother and 32 male cousins bigger then him. I figured I could take him. In those days, it was rabies shots. One in the stomach everyday for 28 days. And, four stitches on the inside of my upper lip. I was not a happy camper. At 60 now, I am still not fond of these monkeys but my family and I believe that I got off lite. It was a male and bigger then I was. We believe, that it knew I was a child. It could have killed me with no problem. It also really didn't bite me. One of his sharp teeth cut me during our scuffle. It has been a family joke for decades. When I get mad and go after someone the family will tell them. Don't worry. She has had her shots. My husband of 37 years has added to the joke with. I think she needs a booster.

The residents could train the monkeys. If the guy with the electric bird feeder marked the feeder or the electrified part of the feeder in a distinctive way, e.g. black and yellow stripes, and other electified items with the same markings were left in the area after a while the monkeys would learn that marking means you get zapped and then the marking could be put on non elevtrified things e.g. tape and the tape could be placed around windows, doors etc to discourage the monkeys.
They Need to be culled or sterilized like they did in Angkor Cambodia. They took great effort to keep the mom's with their babies. It's on yt. You see dozens of knocked out females with their babies and then they released them back. If they don't have the resources open hunting season

I have seen in some areas that they make a feeding station. It is one place on the out skirts of the development, where they make a area where ppl can leave left overs for the monkeys. Then a group if caretakers go there once a day and clean out the heavy stainless steel troughs and put clean water in one and they had 3 for ppl to put food in. One place in this documentary got the whole development to donate $5 for each home and they had a plumber run a pipe under ground so they had a hose and water right there. They did not buy fancy troughs they used old bath tubs, so they could be rinced out each day. 7 ppl were supposed to do 1 day per week to rince out the bath tubs, change the water and scoop the poop, but after a month only one man did it every day. Isn't that how it always goes. For some reason the monkeys stopped coming around the houses and stopped destroying property. They went to this one spot ate their fill and left. I don't know why they do not do that everywhere they have this kind of problem?
This is a very good strategy, used also for the pigeons that swarm and destroy European cities. Put up a central birdhouse, feed them there, provide nesting opportunity and swap the eggs for artificial ones. Birds will swarm there and leave the rest of the city in peace. Practiced successfully all around Europe. That can be a solution for monkey problems, too. (And the oldest, cheapest, easiest way to keep them off your trash, which is lock the bins tightly. )
That does not work, because one group is going to claim the territory and the loser group, are force to move to another place, this is the problem with monkeys the other thing is if there is a pest problem, you need to study if they are overpopulated this is a problem no because the humans, is a problem for other species if there is over population you need to balance with hunting or predators that's how nature balance itself.
There is something they make to keep animals off window sills and porches etc. It was originally made to train a dog or cat from running out the front door when the door is open. It is called a Scat Mat. What it does, is when a animal steps on it, it gives them a little shock so they stay away. You can turn the shock real low even to just a vibration or way up So when a animal steps on it they jump 3 foot in the air. They now make one that is circular to go around the Christmas tree, so cats don't climb it. I used it on my dogs and it really worked the first time. Now I can leave my front door open and they will not go 10' from the open door. They just sit in the middle of the hall watching me bring in the things I have to bring in.
How about not moving to a neighborhood that was built in the middle of monkey's homes if they bother you that much. By leaving windows + doors open what do you expect to happen? Country Clubs are not necessary to anyone's life so clearing the forests for those + being mad at the monkeys for running all over it is absurd. That would suck to have to watch out for vervets breaking into your house and stealing food and other belongings. Having to monkey proof your garbage and things is really going to be challenging. Monkey will eventually learn how to defeat human contraptions only a matter of time.
The Estates could start a compost at a certain location & most of the animals would most likely congregrate there simply due to the pure amount of waste from humans. I don't think trying to fight them off is productive, so obviously that isn't working very well. Trial and error usually is a good path eventually something will work for 80-90% of the people there which should create some peace.

the sharing of food surprises me. i see countless macaque videos mostly in what some call cities are never in want for food. locals and visitors feed them many times a day every day. thats the confusing part. no lower rank monkey (infants included) are forbidden to eat b4 all higher ranked ones. the least punishment is a severe bearing. thats the easiest punishments. its so bad that lactating moms refusing to give milk to their infant will eat food while the infant is clinging on reaching for the food. the mom pulls the food away. after a few interuptions she will pull the infants head back and bite the infant at that part where the forehead turns down toward the eye. they bite multiple times and hard enough to draw blood leaving large cuts on the eye. if not blind it in one eye. which happens more than you think. all that for what? trying to eat when your own mother refuses to give you milk?
I've watched many video's of what can happen when a lower ranking monkey get's caught eating out of turn, youth's included, and the higher ranks will definitely draw blood! But thankfully, I've never yet seen a mother actually draw blood on her own baby or youth. I've definitely seen her go through the motion and show her disapproval with soft bites and hair yanking, but I've always been impressed by their self restraint. I saw on someone's video they was TRYING TO keep HUMANS OUT OF THEIR SUMMER HOME , So this one family put GREASE IN THE WINDOW SEALS...AND GREASE ON THE DOOR KNOBS TO PREVENT DERELICTS AND HOMELESS FOLKS. The GREASE plan worked very well .

Sistahmels you would probably like the Vervet monkey foundation. They rescue and rehab babies, teach them to suck a pet baby bottle, and teach to go in feeding box with chicken wire for walls, the opening to go in is only big enough for a baby, so adults can't drink it. They have a group of females that adopts the babies. Any hurt, or broken bones that they take in is taken to the vet. Or gun shot wands. Some have to have amputation of legs. Good show.

Something seriously needs to be done about human over-population. By the time politicians and corps start recognizing it as a tangible problem, the amount of damage it will have already done will be irreversible.
I agree with you 100%. Historically that has how things have happened, by the time people finally accept the over-population fact there will be little if anything that we can do about it. Unfortunately current events may also influence that fact, I read an article recently that the UK has capped the number of children a couple can have at 2, which of course caused some uproar. But then you've got Trump in the US splitting children from their parents and causing all kinds of emotional trauma. I think current events might make any efforts towards controlling human populations even more difficult. It makes me a little sick to think about it but it's been on my mind lately. In my opinion, which because it's youtube I'm going to get some backlash for even saying this, 2 is a fair number. If I could impose 2 world wide rules for this planet that would last even just 100 years it'd be 2 biological children per family, if you want more than 2 then adopt so you're homing children that are already here rather than intentionally bringing more children into the world; and rule 2 no more animal abuse. I think we are on the dawn of reaching that point where large corporations and politicians are going to start recognizing it, but current events and so many human's ideals of entitlement and convenience are slowing that down and will hold that up for as long as possible. I find at least in North America there is this mindset of "don't tell me what to do!/I do what I want!" I look at pet ownership as an example, you've got people who are diligently spaying/neutering their pets to help end feral populations which is great, but so many people don't do that with the mindset of not caring what happens to other peoples' animals as long as their animals have babies it's fine - not realizing then the babies of their animals have babies and those babies have babies and the problem continues to thrive exponentially like an explosive rat population on speed. If people aren't going to commit to ending over population of dogs, cats, rabbits and other domestic animals they're not going to agree to limiting their own populations. I'm sorry, but I want my future kid(s) and their kid(s) and their kid(s) and theirs to have their home planet be the planet their species is from, I want them to be able to live on this earth comfortably and for that to happen we have to make some amount of sacrifice that might be immediately inconvenient but in reality preserving comfortable and continuing life on earth for everyone - animals and people alike. That's a big dream though, some might say fiction.

I watch all these various nature documentaries and, living in the U.K. I’m torn. On the one hand I feel like I have missed out on real life encounters with nature but at the same time we’re lucky here - we don’t have to worry about monkeys ransacking our homes and terrorising our children, being attacked by wolves, bears, big cats or other large primates, being bitten by venomous snakes or spiders or for that matter ANYTHING!! I don’t know but we might be the only place on earth where there’s pretty much nothing dangerous....the adder is the only venomous snake and isn’t especially dangerous. That’s it! Nothing else dangerous....

The residents could train the monkeys. If the guy with the electric bird feeder marked the feeder or the electrified part of the feeder in a distinctive way, e.g. black and yellow stripes, and other electified items with the same markings were left in the area after a while the monkeys would learn that marking means you get zapped and then the marking could be put on non elevtrified things e.g. tape and the tape could be placed around windows, doors etc to discourage the monkeys.

I have seen in some areas that they make a feeding station. It is one place on the out skirts of the development, where they make a area where ppl can leave left overs for the monkeys. Then a group if caretakers go there once a day and clean out the heavy stainless steel troughs and put clean water in one and they had 3 for ppl to put food in. One place in this documentary got the whole development to donate $5 for each home and they had a plumber run a pipe under ground so they had a hose and water right there. They did not buy fancy troughs they used old bath tubs, so they could be rinced out each day. 7 ppl were supposed to do 1 day per week to rince out the bath tubs, change the water and scoop the poop, but after a month only one man did it every day. Isn't that how it always goes. For some reason the monkeys stopped coming around the houses and stopped destroying property. They went to this one spot ate their fill and left. I don't know why they do not do that everywhere they have this kind of problem?
This is a very good strategy, used also for the pigeons that swarm and destroy European cities. Put up a central birdhouse, feed them there, provide nesting opportunity and swap the eggs for artificial ones. Birds will swarm there and leave the rest of the city in peace. Practiced successfully all around Europe.
That can be a solution for monkey problems, too.
(And the oldest, cheapest, easiest way to keep them off your trash, which is lock the bins tightly. )

There is something they make to keep animals off window sills and porches etc. It was originally made to train a dog or cat from running out the front door when the door is open. It is called a Scat Mat. What it does, is when a animal steps on it, it gives them a little shock so they stay away. You can turn the shock real low even to just a vibration or way up So when a animal steps on it they jump 3 foot in the air. They now make one that is circular to go around the Christmas tree, so cats don't climb it. I used it on my dogs and it really worked the first time. Now I can leave my front door open and they will not go 10' from the open door. They just sit in the middle of the hall watching me bring in the things I have to bring in.

The Estates could start a compost at a certain location & most of the animals would most likely congregrate there simply due to the pure amount of waste from humans. I don't think trying to fight them off is productive, so obviously that isn't working very well. Trial and error usually is a good path eventually something will work for 80-90% of the people there which should create some peace.
That would only encourage overpopulation. Look to India and Thailand why overpopulation would be extremely bad

are never in want for food. locals and visitors feed them many times a day every day. thats the
confusing part. no lower rank monkey (infants included) are forbidden to eat b4 all higher ranked
ones. the least punishment is a severe bearing. thats the easiest punishments. its so bad that
lactating moms refusing to give milk to their infant will eat food while the infant is clinging on
reaching for the food. the mom pulls the food away. after a few interuptions she will pull the
infants head back and bite the infant at that part where the forehead turns down toward the eye.
they bite multiple times and hard enough to draw blood leaving large cuts on the eye. if not blind
it in one eye. which happens more than you think. all that for what? trying to eat when your own
mother refuses to give you milk?
I've watched many video's of what can happen when a lower ranking monkey get's caught eating out of turn, youth's included, and the higher ranks will definitely draw blood! But thankfully, I've never yet seen a mother actually draw blood on her own baby or youth. I've definitely seen her go through the motion and show her disapproval with soft bites and hair yanking, but I've always been impressed by their self restraint. The ones you are referring to must be pretty ghetto tough! What part of the world can I find these monkey video's?

Sistahmels you would probably like the Vervet monkey foundation. They rescue and rehab babies, teach them to suck a pet baby bottle, and teach to go in feeding box with chicken wire for walls, the opening to go in is only big enough for a baby, so adults can't drink it. They have a group of females that adopts the babies. Any hurt, or broken bones that they take in is taken to the vet. Or gun shot wands. Some have to have amputation of legs. Good show.

Something seriously needs to be done about human over-population. By the time politicians and corps start recognizing it as a tangible problem, the amount of damage it will have already done will be irreversible.
I agree with you 100%. Historically that has how things have happened, by the time people finally accept the over-population fact there will be little if anything that we can do about it. Unfortunately current events may also influence that fact, I read an article recently that the UK has capped the number of children a couple can have at 2, which of course caused some uproar. But then you've got Trump in the US splitting children from their parents and causing all kinds of emotional trauma. I think current events might make any efforts towards controlling human populations even more difficult. It makes me a little sick to think about it but it's been on my mind lately. In my opinion, which because it's youtube I'm going to get some backlash for even saying this, 2 is a fair number. If I could impose 2 world wide rules for this planet that would last even just 100 years it'd be 2 biological children per family, if you want more than 2 then adopt so you're homing children that are already here rather than intentionally bringing more children into the world; and rule 2 no more animal abuse.
I think we are on the dawn of reaching that point where large corporations and politicians are going to start recognizing it, but current events and so many human's ideals of entitlement and convenience are slowing that down and will hold that up for as long as possible. I find at least in North America there is this mindset of "don't tell me what to do!/I do what I want!" I look at pet ownership as an example, you've got people who are diligently spaying/neutering their pets to help end feral populations which is great, but so many people don't do that with the mindset of not caring what happens to other peoples' animals as long as their animals have babies it's fine - not realizing then the babies of their animals have babies and those babies have babies and the problem continues to thrive exponentially like an explosive rat population on speed. If people aren't going to commit to ending over population of dogs, cats, rabbits and other domestic animals they're not going to agree to limiting their own populations. I'm sorry, but I want my future kid(s) and their kid(s) and their kid(s) and theirs to have their home planet be the planet their species is from, I want them to be able to live on this earth comfortably and for that to happen we have to make some amount of sacrifice that might be immediately inconvenient but in reality preserving comfortable and continuing life on earth for everyone - animals and people alike. That's a big dream though, some might say fiction.

I watch all these various nature documentaries and, living in the U.K. I’m torn. On the one hand I feel like I have missed out on real life encounters with nature but at the same time we’re lucky here - we don’t have to worry about monkeys ransacking our homes and terrorising our children, being attacked by wolves, bears, big cats or other large primates, being bitten by venomous snakes or spiders or for that matter ANYTHING!! I don’t know but we might be the only place on earth where there’s pretty much nothing dangerous....the adder is the only venomous snake and isn’t especially dangerous. That’s it! Nothing else dangerous....
