- Sonic and The Fallen Star is a 2D speed based platformer in the style of the 2D Classic Sonic games, created by StarDrop.
Play as either one of the iconic duo of Sonic or Tails and explore the star-studded Starfall Island with over 9 complete zones.
With a fresh look on characters, badniks, bosses, artwork, cutscenes, special stages, and complete original soundtrack, composed by Hollie Taylor, makes this an exciting fan game worth checking out.

= Quick Notes =
First, I ended up restarting the 3rd zone twice mainly because I wanted to try and get the hang of both 6th & 7th special stages. I will say in advance to anybody that's going for all emeralds, they're definitely a challenge, and I like that. And second, fast forward to the 2nd act of the 2nd last zone, I ended up restarting at one point before approaching the boss fight just to try and get a better run at it.
From an honest standpoint with this now being a full game, I would definitely put this as part of my top 5 favorite Sonic Fan Games of all time. Really well done overall! 👍🏾

I'm getting a lot of Before/After the Sequel vibes from this. Good music, custom artwork... Masterpiece game.
That's what I thought when I first saw this game too.
It just looks like a reimagined version of after the sequel
Same imagine if this game was made back then, every 90's kid would have lost there minds
And without the wonky physics that made BtS/AtS not so enjoyable for me personally.

It's so refreshing to see a Sonic 2D game that isn't reliant on the previous titles nostalgia to push itself through. This game has unique art style, no retreads to zones like Green Hill or Chemical Zone and I give mad props for that alone. And this was made by a fan, no less, incredible.
Far from the first fangame to do that.

If you like this game it takes big inspiration from Sonic Before and After the sequel, two fan games with amazing art style and music, the mechanics are great too.
If you didn't play those before I recommend them, those are a must!
I think, with no doubt, this is the best tribute that Sonic could've ever had! For me this is the "flawless fanmade sonic game ever". I'd pay for this one!

I'm so impressed to see this game back. I remember seeing you upload it back in mid 2021 and I was surprised at how it was developed and original it is. At first I doubt this game would be fully completed because of the progress it was at already, but now it's finally here. You've kicked it off with another long play, thanks for this upload 💯

Fun fact: Sonic Before and After The
Sequel, and this new Sonic fangame were both made in the same engine: Clickteam Fusion 2.5. This is also the same engine used to develop the entire FNAF series and Freedom Planet.
This is so freaking incredible, it feels like one of those games I would see with a demo but never come out, but in this situation obviously enough it did! Absolutely amazing!
This game feels like what a sequel to Sonic Chrono Adventure and After the Sequel would look like today

The person who made this game literally had the project on hold for a year and half or so. Or drank so much coffee we cant even imagine how countless it is because this is amazing
SEGA could learn a lot from the fans. It baffles me that after Sonic Mania they never did anything like it again. And yet fans keep pumping these _gorgeous_ fan games with all original pixel art. Absolutely mesmerizing.
It’s not like Sega never wants to do it again, they haven’t gotten the *chance* to, with all the things they’ve been working on like Frontiers and Origins, they don’t really have time for another Mania event. Although maybe now they do

While the art style isn't my favorite I have to give credit to the creator(s) of this game. The game looks absolutely amazing, even if I don't prefer the artstyle myself. I absolutely LOVE the super speed sprite in this game, I think it's better than sonic CD's and Mania's super speed sprite. The bonus stages are also my favorite out of any sonic game as they don't seem frustrating and boring after your like 4th emerald.

Honestly I like everything about it but the level design could use some work adding more enemies since sometimes it feels empty

Wow, this game looks a lot better now, with original soundtrack this time! In the last update I hated that the game had too many recycled songs, finally this issue was fixed! Also, love the Unleashed QTEs in the special stages!!
This is the best Sonic fan game I've ever seen, The colors, the images, the graphics, the soundtrack and the game mechanics.
Super cute game! Absolutely adore the colours and dynamic character animations. Best of all, it's great to see a fan project follow through; a very rare thing indeed!

This is an amazing fanmade game. Love the music and the colorful art style, and that superspeed run animation is fire. And the fact that Super Sonic's quills take the form of a star when the fallen star and chaos emeralds are together is pure genius!
this game is simply great, the sprite, the animations, the soundtrack, is the best I've ever seen in my life. without a doubt a very original and epic sonic game.
I just love all the little details in this game! The Discount District Act 1 boss' eye turns into a blue screen of death when you defeat it, the Bubble Blossom Act 2 boss turns into sushi when you defeat it, and so much more!
Also, while it wasn't shown here, if you wait by a bench long enough in Discount District, Sonic will sit on the bench!

Finally some originality. We have so many sprite artists but everyone just uses old sprites and calls it a new game. This game looks good.

This game is pretty great, and a love letter to Before/After the Sequel. I really enjoy the simplistic, colorful graphics, the funky music, and stage gimmicks. Also, visual references, liie the first Special Stages directly referencing the original Special Stages, and the bushes cut to look like Robo Sonic from Sonic 2 are fun nods. Even better, is how close the physics are to the Genesis games and Mania, which seems to be a rarity with fan games. The cutscene with Amy cracks me up every time too. The only issue is the Special Stages feeling really meh in general. The pits in them are often done in which after you jump over one, you land on a ledge without time to jump again. Having it where the characters have a short animation of wobbling to let you have a chance to jump, or a short second of them airwalking before they fall like in Looney Tunes to give you a chance to jump would be great.

Special stage concept is actually clever
This game looks like *mwah* the perfect game with graphics that do not affect too much of that precious sonic gameplay and the colors looks so alive and animations are very exquisite and amazing GOSH I love to play this

There should be a Sonic animated movie in this sort of style. I wouldn’t go for the clean look, even from recent Sonic Collection. I like this slightly graffiti style, this slightly more _kinetic_ hand drawn look which evokes the original art of the classic Sonic games. That would charm the pants off of audiences.

57:40-58:11 are my favorite parts of Gusty Greenhouse Zone Act 1, the Motor prepelled launchers, the loop-de-loop, and don't forget the Quadriple Slope, And Dragonfly mini-boss fight.
Love this! Animations are amazing I love the mania inspired sprites. The falling animation going into the jump dash is amazing and they work so well together very well thought out. Levels are very well balanced with speed and obstacles. Love the music and the custom bosses. Amazing job!
Both super forms look insanely good. I absolutely love the pink on Super Sonic though, kind of a rose gold aesthetic.
I feel like there's a hole in my heart again now that the Ristar music isn't used anymore.
The creativity and quality is off the scale here. This is the closest anyone has come to capturing the Sonic CD animation in-game. SEGA could never do this.

I remember watching the demo of this game was my first video I watched for Jaypin I can't believe this game is a great masterpiece the visuals and cutscenes were phenomenal and the music and level designs are very good and the last level was a bit of a challenge which was great it's what a game needs to have a good ending Thank you Jaypin for playing this I would like to try it myself as well
I love that this game uses sound effects from Kirby Super Star like Before the Sequel did.

And I thought Mania had the best animation in the classic sonic games and fan-games… Fallen Star improves it by a LOT. Like how Sonic throws a hand back to spin dash, or does it up when he’s about to drop dash, or how he looks down after hitting a spring, about to land back, or the idle animation being even more expressive, or the buildup on the super peel out or the cutscenes themselves… I COULD KEEP GOING, THE ANIMATION IS PERFECT
The graphics make this _Sonic the Hedgehog_ fan game look like an offshoot of Nitrome's _Sonic the Hedgehog × Super Leap Day_ demo.
Also, the title of this _Sonic the Hedgehog_ fan game makes it sound like a _Sonic Storybook Series_ game.

The cutscenes are well done and fluid.
Many elements in this game are I think are too kinda fluid (I refer to the backgrounds or the zone itself, it always has something on movement, which can sometimes be distracting but it can be just a thing of mine, maybe its the background standing out too much as I said in other comment idk).

This fan game is amazing and I love the sprites and zones! Maybe the creator is planning on making more zones? SInce it's Starfall Island, and Frontiers has like 5 other islands, but who knows?
I really love the style and charm of this game, the animations they git sonic doing for when he's about to do a drop dash along with the animations for characters in general like when eggman gets hit and so on give me CD/OVA vibes which I thoroughly enjoy. I really like the artsyle for the game as well and the music is very pleasant to listen to and the level design looks very fun to play, of course once I actually play it then I'll know for sure but in terms of presentation, solid 10/10 for me.

Just from watching a brief moment of gameplay, I like the fact that when he transitions from Spin Attack into a Drop Dash, Sonic will actually stick his arms out and tuck them in again for extra torque in the spin. It's sort of reminiscent of when he does a similar tuck-and-spin maneuver a couple of times in the Sonic CD opening animation.

Two problems i have with this is the way sometimes the music cuts off and the weird depth perception of the special stages everything else feels pretty good
The music cutting off sounds like there are gaps between intro and loop segments of each track. There are probably small gaps at the beginning or end of those tracks that are causing it. Hope they fix that!
