Utah is ripe for the pickings. I'd be glad to see an MLB and NFL team in Salt Lake City. It's only a matter of time before it happens. I've lived here in Utah for 36 years (I'm 69) and it keeps getting better and better. I love it. Larry Bloodworth, Draper, Utah (suburb of SLC)
I highly doubt we’ll ever get to see an NFL team in Utah. Even if the economy and fan base could support it, a majority of games are played on Sunday. Like it or not, I have a hard time seeing the church be supportive of that. Which, as I’m sure you’ll agree, would be a deal breaker. Could change some day
@@cgcrosby2I don’t think that is even a concern now. Mormons are now the minority in the state. Mormons will definitely go to games on Sunday and even fill up the stadium. People with this point of view still view Utah as it has been in the past. They haven’t updated themselves to what Utah’s culture is now. The church doesn’t have as strong of a grip on the members anymore and are relaxing on certain things (they know they have to or no young people will stay in). The glaring issue with this portfolio is not just the debt level. It's the need for further development and investment. Plus, a lot of those clubs aren't profitable the NHL in particular is not like the NBA, MLB or NFL. 😂❤
@FrontOfficeSports A billion dollar development fund is great. But the area he's talking about is likely to require at least 3-4 billion dollars to build out. But then again a profitable NBA team in a major market is worth at least 4-5 billion? So purely from a value added proposition, economies of scale, tax rebates and commercial brand value its a great opportunity. 😂
If he is sooooo successful, why is he asking for taxpayer dollars to fund his stadiums and rinks. NO! Stay out of Utah taxpayers pockets. And especially keep your grimy mitts away from southern utahs tax dollars for your northern utah playgrounds.
I agree! However, they would have to build a new football stadium to accommodate an NFL franchise. I think a new football stadium to accommodate more than 60,000 or 75,000 people is way overdue! RES in SLC home of the Utah Utes is outdated and BYU football stadium in Provo is too far from SLC.

MLB than maybe the NFL
MLB is very realistic
MLB for sure, but NFL would be amazing! Huge football culture here.

I was going to make the same point. The Larry H. Miller family still own the Bees, and the stadium where they play is owned by the city of Salt Lake.
NFL?

MLB will be in this decade. With how close the broncos and raiders are it does not seem likely for an NFL team
Not true, look how lose the jets and giants are or all the LL teams. Being close isn't really a problem as long as the ca nsell tickets.
