If "lies" is interpreted as the third person singular of the verb "to lie" instead of the plural of the noun "lie", the sentence can be read as:"He challenges and destroys all these false narratives and HE lies with such grace and eloquence". To me, Norman has always come across as a man with integrity and a strong moral compass. I've never known the man to lie in the decades of various appearances I've witnessed. I write from Brazil. I became aware of Mr Norman Finkelstein's existence just over a month ago and I was so impressed that I haven't stopped watching his videos.
Regarding his statement about the Academy/University, I would add that a large part, more than 90%, are unscrupulous careerists. They don't care about the truth, they seek recognition.
I whitnessed the exchange between Mr. Dershowitz and Mr. Finkelstein. It was positivly viceral . He disembowled Mr. Dershowitz. He had obviously a greater command of the text than the "claimed" author. His destruction of Dershowitz in print was even more devastating. Reading it was a physical experience. Breathtaking. I have never had such an experience reading a book.

To me, Norman has always come across as a man with integrity and a strong moral compass. I've never known the man to lie in the decades of various appearances I've witnessed.
