I like the imitation of European gothic styles and just was on suspicion it was written later than the 1800’s due to the insistence on brain and heart logic. It’s very nice and also made me sad that we almost know nothing about Mariel and the author escapes the city to go on with his life unknown if he was a better person
'Agents of oblivion'... just one tiny example of gorgeous wordsmithing by CAS.... there's a band named Agents of Oblivion, one of my favourites. Former members of Acid Bath in Agents of Oblivion say they took the name from lyrics to an Acid Bath track... I always wondered if this weird yarn by CAS inspired them. Thanks for reading this one 🦇🦇🦇
I gave Agents of Oblivion a listen. What a great band! Their song Endsmouth looks like it was inspired by The Shadow Over Innsmouth, so it's no stretch that they read CAS, since they are clearly into weird fiction. They also have a hand of glory on their album cover, so they get my tick of approval 😄
@The Eldritch Archives They're amazing! I thought you'd appreciate them not only for their Lovecraftian references. Too bad they only released one album, but I treasure it, and am glad you like them, too!
Mate I haven't heard the name Acid Bath for years, totally took me back. For the good deed here's some back for ya. GGFH, Suicide Commando, Velvet Acid Christ, Blood Ritual, Cathedral, Kong, Pitchshifter, Red Harvest, Electric Wizard, Sun O))) Have fun.
@louithrottler Your taste in music is excellent. I caught a Sun O))) gig in Sydney in 2016 if memory serves. If you haven't seen them live it's an experience beyond words. They're playing Europe next month. UFOMammut, Yob and Earthless were also incredible live.

Fantastic story, excellently narrated. Really enjoyed this.
Thanks Trish!

I know this one. Cool stuff!
First! 06:48 at morning, and riding the subway to my job listening you.
Ok smart arse, let's hear you do 'The Last Hieroglyph' or 'A Star Change'. Seriously though, great narration... now tread where others dare to ;)
Could you tell please, where is the cover art from?
This is so creepy in a poe manner.
