I'm also a student from the University of Dhaka and have actively participated in the movement and revolution. But sorry to say this guy you brought is either spreading misinformation intentionally or he has very little knowledge about our history.
For example, he doesn't know about the ruling period of Gen. Ziaur Rahman and Gen. Hussain Md. Ershad. While Zia got very little time. Ershad ruled for almost 9 years as a military ruler.
Like this in the whole podcast, there are several misinformation. So be aware!!!

I am 25 years old, and I am ashamed of myself seeing this 22 year old being so sensible and emotional for his countrymen.
There are 5 key differences Pakistan has with Bangladesh that will put Pakistan in more and more vulnerable position in the future.
    1. Youth in Pakistan is not well integrated and organized as I find in Bangladesh.
    2. Army is not playing the role Bangladeshi army had played on 5 August.
    3. The junior ranks of of Pak Army are not brave enough, and did not turn down orders to shoot civilians.
    4. The movement in Pakistan is not leaderless. Army has deduced ways to manipulate and control the leadership thus controlling the movement.
    5. Pakistan is not home to one large ethnicity, rather a number of ethnicities live here. There is very little organization among these ethnicities thus reducing the momentum of the movement by turning it a movement of only the pushtuns but this is very dangerous.
I hope and pray for a miracle....

The total death toll on Bangladesh in 71 as per international and neutral sources is around 3 Lacs (not 3 million) and this also includes over 1 lac non bengalis killed by mukti bahini and have been proven. No doubt atrocities were committed by the army but it was not a one way rhing

Obviously Pakistan was the villain during 1947 to 1971. There is no question about that. They did genocide, discriminations in all aspects, killings, dictatorship, no democracy etc. That was a failed state overall. They forgot to recognize the power of Bangali people.

Many people will say our 🇧🇩 army general waqar zaman helped our protesters to kicked hasina's ass, yes he helped but there is twist......
Large number of army general/Major/senior Officer was pro hasina and they wanted to keep hasina but there was Threat from junior officers and soldiers, they said they will go Against their officer and risk their life for the country! So waqar zaman didn’t want internal conflict within army and he know how brutal it would be! So dont help hasina!
But my question is where is the this level of Pakistani army officials who can help Pakistan to free from these army Mafia!
How it is possible that entire army organisation is destroying Pakistan!
Why not someone came from Pakistan army and save this country!

    • @ali2naveed

Pakistan can not have a revolution like Bangladesh due to many factors, one big is the army junior personal unquestioned loyalty to their officer, our army never had 2 factions who play for power like Bangladesh our army has been one selfish unit.

He actually made many mistakes here, saying as Bangladeshi. Aim this should be showing proof, facts not making Hasina villain only.
So let me start: Mujib made a one-party state, avoiding the multiparty democracy sentiment of 1971. He was killed (external international powers played a role). By luck, Zia came to power. He handled everything okay but killed and jailed many. He was a patriot and made effective steps that directly improved the economy. Then he understood that without democracy, he would lose power, so he created BNP. The 1979 election happened, which was a yes/no vote (odd election), and he won. After it, controversy started, so to create a mess in Awami League (main opposition), he let Hasina enter Bangladesh from India and take Awami leadership around 1980/81. After Hasina came, she, India, and a few greedy generals planned to kill Zia. He was killed in Circuit House, Chittagong. But as he was very popular, the killers could not hold power. Zia's close ally and secretly India's backed Ershad came to power.
Ershad also made economic improvements more than Zia, but he was a controversial character. As BNP led by Khaleda Zia (wife of Zia) and Awami League led by Hasina (daughter of Mujib) protested, after 9 years, Ershad lost power. (Actually, students removed Ershad, but these students were led by political party student wings.) Fair elections happened, and BNP won. Then again, election time came. Awami League understood fair elections might not happen under BNP (they demanded an interim government). Jamaat helped and supported Awami League in this (ironically). In 1996, Awami League won. After that, another election happened, and BNP won.

    • @jherfan7632
      @jherfan7632 3 дні тому +3

This time, Khaleda's son Tarique (now the main candidate for PM) did huge corruption and made a big mess. BNP failed to bring control in anything (Awami League is a hard political opposition to deal with, always protesting). So again, after a lot of protests, as Khaleda denied giving power to an interim government, a few brave army officers came forward and arrested both political party leaders, did a few reforms, and in 2009 elections were held. People were very unhappy with BNP, and Awami League gave a lot of blood (there were grenade attacks, killing of Awami leaders, etc., also Hasina portrayed herself as a better leader). She won with a huge majority, and alas, the mess started again. First, Hasina, backed by India, targeted the army and made a coup by BDR (border guard soldiers) and killed them. People saw it as a coup by junior soldiers. Then the steamroller started on BNP; many leaders were arrested. They protested a lot, but nothing happened. During this time, the economy started improving for the first time in history; there was no food shortage in Bangladesh, so civil society supported Hasina. Hasina now targeted Jamaat leaders, blaming many of them for supporting Pakistan and directly participating in genocide (it was true, but many of them were innocent or forgiven by Mujib, or the court failed to prove it, but the court still gave hanging orders due to so-called public pressure (Gonojagoron Moncho, a protest). To counter it, Jamaat called for protests under the Hefazat banner, claiming Islam was being targeted. Clashes between party workers happened in Dhaka. Then the Hefazat killing happened, the first mass killing by the government. In one night, many were killed as they were Islamists. The army supported Hasina, and she got away with it. Then elections happened. BNP demanded an interim government, Awami League did not agree. India intervened and made Ershad agree to participate. Awami League won. After that, Awami League became the most powerful entity; all political parties failed in front of them.

Another video comparing Moon with Sun .😂 Bangladesh student movement was not about vote or politics or for any leader. It was about food and employment which Hasina imposed by selecting her cronies in Govt . Around a Million of graduates in Bangladesh are facing unemployment. Govt jobs were the only options because the private sector was also corrupted through legals. No legals no jobs. But then Hasina imposed 46% quota which benefits less than 1% of population. And they were Awami league supporter families . To add on these there was huge scum on selection of freedom fighters. Awami local goons who was not even born after 1971 was made freedom fighters. This FF guy's grandsons were also getting quotes . Plz stop this nonsense. In Bangladesh 14 jamat leaders were hung in fake trials and Main Opposition party leader Khaleda(ex-Pm) was in jail for 6 years . People didn't even spit on those issues . 😀

Mamunur Rashid, the guest, was fascinating and he addressed many of the queries during the discussion, and I found his conversational style engaging and promising as an emerging one. However, while his enthusiasm was evident, his responses sometimes came across as overly cursory and lacked depth.
Although his presence in the protest provided valuable firsthand experiences, there was some lack of insight. Specifically, the timeline and key events of the protest were not articulated properly. Also, at Chittagong University, Students did not throw chatra league cadres from the roof. Being employed by the fallen ruling government, they entered the multi-storey student dormitory to assault general students. However, the students outnumbered the cadres and retaliated them. As a result, some of the cadres retreated to the rooftop. Trapped with no clear way to escape, being anxious, some of them attempted to climb down the building, which was nearly impossible to do. Unfortunately, in the chaos, several slipped and fell due to the lack of proper means to descend.

Speaking moderate English doesn't necessarily justify this lad to be the right person to critically narrate the history of Bangladesh. This lad merely has a political prudency, starting with the statement, "Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib tried his best to develop the country", which is a sheer misinformation. On a side note, he is calling the dictator Sheikh Mujib as "Banga bondhu (Friend of Bengal), which has always been controversial.
Request to the anchor, please bring someone more prudent, politically enlightened person if you do a podcast on Bangladesh in future.

How can the BD young lot forget Pakistani Muslims our elders have fought for independence from British and Hindus together Bangales of India leading. Those responsible for the separation and break up of two wings of Pakistan were 1. Bhotoo 2. Mujib 3.Gen Yahya khan and Indra Ghandi as India was looking for a chance to weeken the Muslims in sub continent and we give them the opportunity to do so. Now the BD people should build up their fighting forces which India along with Hasenna never allowed. Secondly they should quickly get hold of some sort of nuclear technically for hard times to come from India.BD Zindabad.God bless them.

I don't like the way mamun talk about the history. Generally he served the Indian way, Pakistan was the first country that gave us independence from the British. The British period is most cruel. The way he is respecting sheikh mujib, is suspicious. In 50 years what Bd is achieved is very small. Not in economics, not in military power, not in education. Not in infrastructure. For the betterment of Bangladesh, we need a leader of great vision, we have gotten that kind of leadership many times in past years. But the cause is whenever our country gets the right path India stands in the way. If Bd developed much more than India in south Asia their colonial states desire for independence will increase. And hard possibly they can join us. Mamun talks is rubbish.
I think he feared his life. Talking about India's aggression is still fearful in Bangladesh. The better example of this is Abrar Fahad.
He gave his life, for a Facebook post that serves Bangladesh interest in river and fish and port and so on.
We want a great friendship with Pakistan. Pakistani Muslims are our only true brothers in south Asia. Indians are uncivilized. Love you guys from Bangladesh 🇧🇩

Not the same it was not a political movement. Or for any leader . It was for quotas . Where fake freedom fighters were getting govt jobs and their grandsons but after studying hard for 20 years you were discriminated .In 2012 Hasina killed 14 jamat leaders for 1971 which was a fake trial . Took their business and lands but no one spit on those issues.

Army just stopped supporting Hasina during the final phase when they saw the protest is unstoppable. Sane like Egyptian army during the protest against Hosni Mobarak. And the BGB is also commanded by army officers same like Rangers & FC. They also killed so many people.
