Pole work: Exercises the most important muscle...the brain. Well schooled ma’am. Well rode, love the mic that pick up the subtle correction and rewards. Addie worked very well...her mind and her hind end. Fun on a Friday
It’s almost an insult to call her a baby horse after this lesson!! Wow! It’s easy to forget she’s 5 😮 She’s such a talented young horse and you ride her beautifully! ❤
Addie has such a lovely walk! And she is really starting to listen more to your aides. So interesting to watch both of you progress in your partnership.
Greetings......from the Western North Carolina Mountains...USA ! After seeing you have an issue with mounting....I would like to direct your attention to 'Steve Young'....an amazing horse person. He will easily teach you....to teach your horse to "side up to a mounting block" and stand perfectly still while you mount.....by watching him do this in his videos. It's shockingly amazing how he works with horses. Good luck.....and as always, thanks for sharing your life with your horses.......
Hi Em, I absolutely loved watching that lesson with Addy, she is a super intelligent little girl, well actually not so little any more. She understood all that you were asking of her. I loved your instructor he was a very nice calm person and explained everything so well to you. I have to admit some of it I didn’t quite understand but so long as you and Addy understood that was what counted. Take Care, Jane from America. 👍😎🐎🐴🧑🏻🦰
Love 💕 a polework session - teaches them so much! 🥰 Well done Addy woo 😊. You’re doing a great job with her Emily, keep it up and looking forward to seeing more 🙂
Hi Emily, as you were talking about how Addie loves her jumping but isn't as interested in dressage as she struggles with it a bit, I would encourage you to look into Prix Caprilli Tests. For those who might not know they are dressage tests with a couple of jumps in them. So you have to ride the test super accurately to make sure you either get to or around the fences. And obviously you could keep them as poles, but it could be something to help keep her interested while still being able to put some more dressagey bits in
Hi Em! You did really great with Addie and all the poles / jumps. I understand how hard it is to turn a bigger horse around a tight corner... I ride a 15.3 hand horse with a loooong back (uses a 17 inch saddle). We are doing western mounted games (barrel racing, pole bending, hurry scurry - in South Africa). It was difficult to turn her previously, but me sitting deeply and back in the saddle and keeping my outside rein present really helped! I went from a 36 sec barrel race to 27.9 sec barrel race yesterday and now know that I can go faster on the straights and take sharper turns by just sitting back in the saddle and asking clearly for the turn. Horses are very fun!!!
I’ve watched this a couple of times now - it’s so interesting to see how the very subtle differences you made to your hands or legs or body position made Addy respond differently. It’s no wonder she’s exhausted! Lots to think about (and a great learning opportunity for us who get to sit in)!

Love the new mics, makes it such a good quality video. I love being able to listen to the instruction from your coaches and your responses!

Love the mics! You can hear the difference! Super cool to see this lesson! Thanks for sharing!!
Really enjoy watching the lessons, so beneficial to hear what your instructor says. Great to see you both improving 😊
That was a really good insight into how to get focus and correct bend, she is a good learner and all this background work will be well worth it x
Fun
You guys did great
Love pole work 💗
Polework is so beneficial, really makes a difference. Mics are great really helps hear what’s being said when not close to camera ❤
I like the mics :) .... really interesting vlog and great fun lots to think about.

She is looking super! Well done Em!
The mics are great! I can hear everything! Its great, your breathing isnt annoying at all! Just be careful with clicking zippers XD
Love the spontaneity! And the mics were very effective. The lesson was really interesting so thanks for taking us along with you.

I keep meaning to say - the microphones are so great!! Before I couldn’t actually follow your voice and the trainer’s voice. This is FAB! ❤❤❤
She will grow into the strength required for the dressage. That top line will increase and improve. I think this is a star grade horse in the making.
Em, she is looking incredible recently! You've done such a fantastic job with her so far
I know those mic’s must have cost a pretty penny, but wow! What a difference. You can hear all the information. They are great girls! Good decision.
Totally didn't hear the train. Also, I love the mics because it really is fantastic to hear the coaching.
I always love lesson vlogs! Definitely going to try this exercise for myself; I want to do more polework but find it so hard to come up with ideas. X
Great video Em. Love the sound. Love the mics.
Re
A joy to watch, mics are good 👍
Can’t wait to watch 😆
Polework is so so important I try to do one session a week! Especially at the moment when we can rarely hack during the week!
good video Emily
What camera and microphones do you use please as really need to upgrade mine
I love polework
