If it wasn't for factions like Paul Jones' Army and the Four Horsemen, there wouldn't have been the Nation of Domination, DX, Evolution, Legacy, the Shield, Nexus, etc.
@@vintagecardcurator Yep. They were both dancing around during the interview and when Valiant said that then Pez stopped and stood absolutely frozen. Valiant keep doing that stupid wiggle-wiggle of his and didn't see Pez's reaction. Until Pez headbutted him and after finishing the beatdown... he took out a pair of scissors and cut a lock of his hair. I thought I would have to peel my grandfather off the ceiling. *I REALLY miss those days!!*
In 1979, a new pro wrestling publication hit newsstands and magazine racks across the nation. It was Pro Wrestling Illustrated. When the first issue went to press, Paul Jones & Baron Von Raschke were ranked at #2 in the Tag Team Division. Paul was also ranked at #3 in the Most Hated Wrestler category.
Paul Jones had a massive vendetta against The Boogie Woogie Man that seemed to go on forever. It was like watching Captain Ahab hunting down Moby Dick.
It's kind of back though in WWE as well, like Kevin Owens and Braun couldn't be any different and they just had a program, it was shit because the writers are clueless and the booking is awful but at least the guys now look different and are recognizable, watch something like MLW or ROH everyone has a look, alot if them suck because they're marks for them selves but that's a different issue
That IS classic stuff! Wrestling today absolutely sucks in comparison. Wrestlers back then could work the mic and a crowd without having to resort to juvenile antics or profanity. Props to davnc89 for posting this rare footage.
If Paul Jones was such a great manager, he should have had these guys go after championship gold in the NWA during 1986 rather than assemble them to go after one basic wrestler: Jimmy Boogie Woogie Man Valiant. His army: Shaska Whatley, Baron Von Raschke, The Barbarian, and (not in this video) Teijo Khan. They should have been to him what the Four Horsemen were to James J. Dillion. Paul Jones: Fine wrestler. Lousy manager.
This is hilarious. The days in which wrestling was fun to watch.
Baron looked like he was 70 years old for his entire career.
Paul Jones' Army could make a great series of arcade beat-em-up bosses.
Whatley was awesome.
Whatley should have been a big star.
Great heel talker.
RIP Paul Jones. Great character.
Most eclectic organization formed.
0:39 - There he is, the bald headed geek!
Jones was probably the most underrated heel manager of all time.
Back in the day, how could you not pull for the heels? Great fun.
they look like an outlaw circus act..lmao
watch your mouth respect the Jones army
THAT IS ALL THE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW!
If it wasn't for factions like Paul Jones' Army and the Four Horsemen, there wouldn't have been the Nation of Domination, DX, Evolution, Legacy, the Shield, Nexus, etc.
Baron looks about 70 years old
Paul Jones: Shredder
The Baron: Krang
Shaska: Bebop
Barbarian: Rocksteady
What a motley crew!!!
xoxo The Clarences
Shaska had such a great heel turn on Valiant when he joined Paul Jones.
it was hilarious, it started when Valiant called him the "greatest Black wrestler"

@@donarthiazi2443 Hahaha.... Back then even as a mark kid I used to love watching the Boogie Woogie Man getting the crap kicked out of him 😂🤣
How Tony did not fall down to the floor and laugh during the course of that interview segment is a mystery to me.

I miss the old school wrestling that was made in the studio, and had storylines and wrestlers that were worth watching.
One of the great factions of that day!
With an Army like that,Jones should have gone after belts instead of just Jimmy Valiant and friends.
Paul Jones had a massive vendetta against The Boogie Woogie Man that seemed to go on forever. It was like watching Captain Ahab hunting down Moby Dick.
Real characters, varying personalities, different looks (not everyone is cut with 6 packs abs)....ability to tell a story. All this missing

How in the world did Tony Schiavone not fall on the floor laughing during this segment?
I remember the first time I saw the Von Erichs use the claw, I thought, "they're not old enough to do that, and they're not bald headed either".
is baron von rashke trying to imitate col. klink of hogans heros with that monical ?
Bald headed geek (with the Baron standing right there)
I met the Baron at a Wrestling and Sports Convention one year

Tony saw a lot of wrestling history. He was around to see Paul Jones' army, the Four Horsemen and the NWO.

Wow this is a classic not like wrestling today
So is Paul Jones trying to cosplay as Hitler?
No Saddam
I’m screaming 🤣
Lmao who else is here because of Jim Cornette
NWA starring Paul Jones as Hitler.

Paul Jones: before cringe
What a bunch of clowns! Mr. Boring Paul Jones is at it again! Pistol Pez Whatley as "Shaska"? What a joke!
You are wrong. Paul Jones is entertaining as hell!
He looks like a Nazi in that ridiculous tan uniform! His Army is nothing but a bunch of mid-card wrestlers! What a boring group!
pez whatley is so terrible
