1. You only need to be connected to the Internet the first time you load up Sega Model 2 emulator. After that, you don't need to be connected. 2. I will add that to my list of consoles. It turns out that the Odyssey 2 was my first console ever. My dad bought us one of those in 1979 when I was kid. So yeah, I will definitely do a tutorial on this system in the near future.

Has anyone ever got Behind Enemy Lines to work? (I do now see emulation options in v34 of Batocera in the emulator menu options...not sure what to choose). Also despite it being a stupid idea, is there any way to get an Xbox controller to properly map to the lightgun games or the only option is the mouse pointer? It makes sense that the games were only made for lightguns and therefore the emulator supports the mouse...but was also hoping to be able to manually move the mouse/cursor/reticle around with my Xbox joystick for testing or fun or whatever. Thanks in advance. Great video btw Batocera Nation! Thank you for all that you do!
Is There any way to make Daytona USA's steering less jumpy with the Sony PS3 controller using the analog sticks connected via the USB Cable and to assign R2 as the accelerator and L2 as the brake pedal? The only playable games are the gun games and that shooting game where you are kids flying toy prop planes shooting at other toys inside their house. I hope they are still developing the Model 2 emulator because it needs a lot of work, the game files are not listed alphabetically fonts are too small making it very hard to read the game file names.
The Sega Model 2 emulator is a Windows emulator and developed outside Batocera. It was just ported over to Batocera. So, the Batocera team are limited to what they can do, and they can't change or edit the emulator. The emulator has the buttons preassigned.
I managed to get L2 and R2 working by setting Z axis (inv) for accelerate and Z Axis for Brake, tick to map to analogue and away you go :). That’s using an Xbox One S controller. Steering is super sensitive but aside from that plays well. Used to play this with my Mrs all the time when younger, excellent game

I dont believe Pi supports model 2. Model 2 is X86 64,so for windows only, and in Batocera windows runs in Wine, which the Pi4 cannot do. So if theres no model 2 folder, its not supported.
How does this help others using Windows emulators, Handheld devices that run linux systems that don't use wine? And could you do an update for Future Pinball for Batocera? I'm using it on a cheap Game box from China that apparently is a an Orange Pi clone of some sort. I just know the Batocera image works on it. I would love to try Fpinball on it.
I'm not one of the Developers, but most Batocerans are running Batocera on PC systems. Not to mention that Steam Deck is right around the corner and Batocera should become popular on that handheld system. Current handhelds are not powerful enough to run Wine applications or Future Pinball. Steam Deck will change all that.
@@KaraokeDuov2 Yes. I'm using an Asrock mini PC. I believe that some may start out on a Pi or handheld and move to PC when they realize they want a more power system to play more consoles. I started out on a Odroid and move to PC because I wanted to emulate more consoles.

@@MrRockfish01 For segacd for games that have 1 bin you can rename it to chd yeah and it would work but if you have multiple bins for a game you need to launch the game from the cue file. In batocera game menu you can hide the bin extensions so only cue shows, and launch the game, scrape it too. Alternatively your best solution is to download chdman and convert/compress bin/cue games to actual chd format. This will also save you a lot of storage space, depending on your game library size. Very timely video! I was just tinkering with this the other day to no avail. I couldn't figure out the controls. Do you have to be connected to the internet with every game once or every time you try to play?
P.S. any chance we may see a video for the Magnavox Odyssey 2 any time soon?
1. You only need to be connected to the Internet the first time you load up Sega Model 2 emulator. After that, you don't need to be connected.
2. I will add that to my list of consoles. It turns out that the Odyssey 2 was my first console ever. My dad bought us one of those in 1979 when I was kid. So yeah, I will definitely do a tutorial on this system in the near future.
thanks amigo! i will try this on batocera 38! and batocera 39 will be available in March 2024 - its changes should improve WINE games and applications.
Im gonna take a guess and say v39 stable will be available sometime this month 😊 (Feb)
But I could be wrong.
Another handy feature on v39 is if using on mobile PC devices there are TDP settings so you can save on some battery life.
Well, I was wrong, it was March 😊.
Still struggling to get this running. Followed guide to the letter and the roms try to open then just return to menu. I don’t think the initial setup on running first game worked. Is there a way manually set this up? Model 3 works beautifully
Its sometimes hit and miss for me too.
I had them working on one PC, when I flashed as new on a diff PC, it didnt.
Or a change in storage drive broke them.
Seems a bit all over the place, dunno.
Then theres the control mapping issue.
We can play Virtua Fighter using mame, VF2 using model 2 and VF3 using model 3.
Weird thing is my VF3 and Fighting Vipers 2 in Model 3 havent booted for me since v31.
But they did in v30,why I dunno.
Tried diff rom versions and sourced from diff places but they still dont work for me.
However I have Star Wars Trilogy now working in model 3,but it was cause from where I got the rom from, odd.
Sega Model 3 has been reduced to a few working roms. It needs an overhaul. No doubt that Sega Model 2 emulation is better at this point.
@@BatoceraNation
Ah… OK.
Well, does VF3 and Fighting Vipers 2 work for you? Or anyone else here?

It would have been nice if you provided a link to the ROM files or said what to search for, thankfully I still had the ROMs on a external drive because I have no idea where I found the ROMS or what I typed in Google to find the ROM Files.
The lin provided does not say where to download the ROM files or what to search for.

Hello , I just finish my 3tb batocera project today but three things I need help with:
1. I need to find a way for mugen to work without that file, (autorun.cmd)
2. how to map controllers for future pinball.
3. And how to put PC Street fighter games ( Ultra 4 and SF5 ).
1. Unfortunately, it needs it since it is Windows based.
2. Is there a Key to Pad option in the emulator settings. If not, I will have to add one. I will need to check this
3. Those games work in Steam. Install them in Steam.
But the buttons can be remapped so which Access Points are the R2 and L2 on a Sony PS3 duel shock controller?
I don't know. I don't owe one.
I set the controls in the emulator and tried in on it (in the aplication) but when I return to the front end and select the same game (daytona usa, and is daytona.zip, I checked that) the buttons doesn't work, I exit the game, press F1 open the aplication load daytona, the controls work ok in there! I don't know how to fix it
Did you find a fix for your problem as mine are the same, play great with changing controls in windowed mode but as soon as i go back to frontend no controls?
Hi, Under "Configure Controls". When I double click the key, it always register the left mouse button. it won't stay on "Press a button or key". I tried replacing the mouse but it still the same issue.

What would you consider is the Intel equivalent to your BATOCERA System is?
Would a CORE i5 2.3 GHz be more powerful or less powerful than your system?
What about a CORE i3 3.5 GHz?
I also have an Intel i7-1165G7 system. They are both similar in power and speed (with the Ryzen 4800U) with each other. I did a comparison of the two here: ua-cam.com/video/2ifBjG6x9Dk/v-deo.html
Awsome,so where are the game roms sega models 2 can download?
You can find everything at archive.org. Use their search feature.

Hi and thanks for your video, i have a problem on Raspberry Pi4 4GB with new install Batocera V38, after few download romset AM2 i think i need HELP!, ever don't show AM2 in game list, I've try with Model3 and it show, bat Model2 ever no.
I dont believe Pi supports model 2.

So if theres no model 2 folder, its not supported.
Hi. My issues is that i open a game and the emu crash. I try everything is this video and no luck. Any tips?
This works on my Lenovo M73 but not on my HP 800 G2 so perhaps just some sort of hardware compatibility issues.
Maybe same for you, dunno.

Both are Intel with intergrated graphics.

Nope, in Batocera v36 and v35 model 2 wont work on my HP, but does on the Lenovo.
No idea why.
@@BatoceraNation Thank you for replying. So in this video, you're on an x86 device? I probably didn't format my comment correctly. if so I apologize.
@@KaraokeDuov2 Yes. I'm using an Asrock mini PC. I believe that some may start out on a Pi or handheld and move to PC when they realize they want a more power system to play more consoles. I started out on a Odroid and move to PC because I wanted to emulate more consoles.

@@fonzitheman -Hi thanks for answering, yes I did get it running. I was placing a bin and cue format file into the rom folder. I turned the bin and cue files into .chd and that did the trick😬. I do have a quick question about a game in Naomi if you don’t mind, game is 18 wheeler all buttons work fine except for the steering. I can’t steer.
@@MrRockfish01
For segacd for games that have 1 bin you can rename it to chd yeah and it would work but if you have multiple bins for a game you need to launch the game from the cue file.
In batocera game menu you can hide the bin extensions so only cue shows, and launch the game, scrape it too.
Alternatively your best solution is to download chdman and convert/compress bin/cue games to actual chd format. This will also save you a lot of storage space, depending on your game library size.
As for that 18 wheeler naomi game yeah, I tested it briefly and steering wouldnt work for me either ( using the Libretro flycast core).
I went into retroarch and tried changing the controller type there as well with no luck.
Perhaps BN knows more on this ☺️
Or, perhaps just play the Dreamcast version instead 😉
