MonoBehaviours are still going to be a thing, but instead of GameObjects and Entities being two seperate things, GameObjects are now going to be backed by the Entities system, that is to say, a GameObject will be an Entity. Meaning you can actually have a combination of MonoBehaviours and Components on an object. This allows GameObjects to benefit from at least some of the performance benefits of DOTS like the better memory layout, and also allows them to optimize parts of the engine since they don't have to translate as much back and forth between GameObject and Entity data, like Transforms, the GameObject Transform and Entity Transforms are going to be unified, so no translation between the two will be required. It also allows hybric hierarchies, so you can have GameObjects as children to Entities and vis-versa, something that previously was not really possible.
Thanks for the video, I really enjoy when I can get bite size information, as MOST of this doesn't apply to me. HOWEVER It looks like they are going to Unify Renderers, into a single Unified Renderer. Missed that, unless it was a slide. NOT something for me, I am sure, although I do push to a 2023 build to publish as a current work flow.
its to bad they never focus on one of the most important things like navmesh, we need more freedom for navigation mesh system, like autobaking but also ability to manually select the navmesh and move the verts around it's not always backing well when using automated stuff why can the be more freedom, pls Unity if you see this think about it make it better right now its the worst thing that unity has to offer Thanks no disrespect just my opinion ❤
@@CocoCode Well I mean in the Time Ghost section they talked about using an AI to generate the fabric folding deformations on cloths in realtime, but that one at least is actually a really nice use case for AI, as compared to most of the other presented usecases.
Because of incompatible assets and assets change as well. This is the stupidest comment I've seen. I'm 14 and I'm learning development and it's sad that I understand why you'd have to choose the unity version you want. It really is sad you don't have the capacity to open your mind.

@@edi_gun_awan he said the truth, i have one project on 2022.3.3xx but when i tried to new version like 2022.3.4xx because they add hot fixes on that version, something broken. so keep in mind this is game engine, not web framework like laravel or something similar, they can bump the version and everything most of the time work like older version (except major version).cmiw

I really really really hate the way they are presenting themselves. It is typical corporate America, fake, no emotion, pretence of emotion. Thanks for shortening it to 6 minutes but I just could not watch it for more than 1.
A clever way to use AI would be if you could ask the engine how to do something, and it was giving you the right answer in a short concise manner. So you don't have to spend several times more time watching youtube videos
Unity is a pretty good engine but They need to charge money per download from the developers despite knowing whether the developer had earned anything or not, they should distribute unity for free and charge the developer a 10 or 15 percent after they earn at least a 100k usd or maybe a million usd from the game, otherwise not
@yourmajesty9025 hm. I think this is one of the best points. I am not really love unreal. Not the games, not the engine. i really stay away from. Boring Charakter controllers, slow down motions turn around 10 times before walk forward. inside the engine, complicatet tab menus, tons of extra clicks for the smallest thing... Unreal have a good render pipeline. But a very painful workflow.
@yourmajesty9025 Maybe. i cant use unreal, it uses Graphs, this is for me not to overwatch. Are ppl what colorblind, i am graph blind. And this have a big problem: new unity also using graphs... so i stay at 2022. I have not so much lifetime left, it will serve me. New aaa games, are not interesting me. And this whole unreal hype, is not my way. so for real: all this over the top graphic things, are longly to me. so unreal is also not my goal. But you right! Absolutly

Let´s see how it evolves
Thanks!
Thanks for making that. It's just the right level to quickly get an idea of what's coming in a condensed format.
"Thank you, Ry. Thank you everyone." lmao god bless video editing.
Thanks for the summary 🎉
Excited for all of these performance updates
Thank you for condensing this. You did a fantastic job!
Great vid thank you
Great short version! Thanks!

Coco Thank you for saving me hours. Did I hear that right? they are transitioning out of monobehaviors into an integrated setup with DOTS?

Yup, they are unifying render pipelines, that was said in a different walk (roadmap)
@@CocoCode Yes. This can be the right step to new projects. But for old Projects, and your asset Stack, it is 100% deadly.
The new demo looks stunning. Did they mention whether they will release this demo online for us to sample the various techniques ?

GOOD I AM CURRENTLY WRITING A BOOK FOR UNITY 6/ HOPEFULLY IT WILL HELP THE UNITY COMMUNITY.
Shut up retard
The part I was interested, mobile web, was super brief. I hope they at least do smaller size of web build.
Nice editing. AI. AI. and umm AI. I'm excited.
I wish that they would stop using the term "AI" for everything.
@Nefarious_Bread what if it's AI...just don't call it AI?
After buying lor of the rings studio why theor tech is behind unreal?

You can already do that to an extent with existing AI like ChatGPT.
Can they finally add a not god aweful lighting system???? Their 3d lighting system is from like 2005 FFS. It's the worse thing ever.
