My power 10 is awesome! Works great! It has plenty of power to run a big USA trains sd70mac and another single motor g scale engine at the same time. The fan noise I fixed by putting the supply inside a cardboard box with the backside open and plenty of airflow. It really cuts the fan noise down. I really like being able to locate the controller anywhere I want with phone line. A big question I have is weather or not I can use this power supply on a digitrax DCC system to supply power to the brain. If anyone knows that would be helpful.
Also if anyone is interested in these power10s , I highly recommend them.

I have this power pack, am very happy with it. I use it with my usa trains gp9 and LGB trains. One nice feature in the manual, I added a phone wire splitter and connected 2 4 wire phone lines around an outdoor layout I just built, so I'll be to operate the trains anywhere on my layout. The other cool thing is, when the loco is running I can disconnect the controller, let's say point A and transfer to point B, the loco won't stop it will keep on going. I like it's internal memory feature.

Just out of curiosity, which LGB engines do you have? I have an LGB F7, and I am trying to determine whether or not it is safe to run it with the Power 10.

@PnPrailroad Yes it does have a big fan, most of the big ones do. So... it did not sound out of place to me. Our power supplies are outside so the fan noise is not really heard. If you were going to use this inside I think you would want it under the table. The same is true for biffer Bridgewerks Power Supplies.

Wow I have had mine for a long time and bang it around going in and out of the shop and have not had any issues. The momentum works fine and the low speed starts are nice. Maybe the starts are a dirty track or pitted wheels issue? Even after it was fixed you have these problems? I would contact Charles Jr. directly at USA Trains.

Does the USA Trains Power 10 put out pure direct current or pulse power?

No, the jerky operation is only since the most recent repair and they tell me it's normal due to all the protection circuits interacting with each other. The other 2 failures were bad manufacturing and bad components. Perhaps I just got the lemon in a run of good ones.

I wonder if this is available for UK voltage input (240vAC)

Are there any DC controllers available in the USA that use a low voltage input (e.g. 12V DC, 16V AC, etc.) rather than 110V AC? Can't use this one in a 240V AC environment.

A good idea, but the pack is not well made. In 2 months, I've had to send mine back for repair twice, once because it was made with bad transistors and bad resistors, and then again when it blew up an IC due to a short circuit. Yes, repairs were covered under warranty, but at $30 shipping every time it fails, it's not a good investment.
PS Momentum works backwards on my controller!
PPS Low speed starts are very jerky, too.
