11:41 Journey Color studies where done with Colors! DS? I am thrilled! Somehow Colors! on the DS lends itself amazingly well for quick color studies, I used it back then all the time.
hardware limitation its a good thing in a lot of cases, the limitations make us find a way or a workarrowd to a problem that could be even better and original than the first idea!
yeah i actually adore the glyphs the way they and as someone who knows nothhing about art and the process in video games, i wouldve never even thought that they mightve looked different at some point. and seeing the original i indeed like the glyphs even better the way they are in the final game some things looked "better" in the original sketches and drawing and some things improved on those because of the limitations. its so fascinating"
"I decided I needed to make my own canon of architecture" BRO WHAT. This guy is nuts.
This is incredibly useful for a beginner artist in a team

Interesting to see how a game mostly conceptualized by one guy can turn out.
Austin Fritzke I think Matt, Jenovah, and Austin were all equally important.
Excited for times when these restrictions will no longer be there and the artistic vision will be the only limitation.

Limitation produces Innovation.
Areeya Jaidee Yeah, restrictions breed creativity. You can’t be creative when you don’t have anything to base your product off of.

Such an incredible amount of progression of the art throughout the development process, this was an inspiring talk!
I love 2:20. It’s not right for the vision but it’s awesome.
It would be perfect for a Dune game
Bought the artbook on release day... Had no idea it would be worth hundreds now lol
Wow, at 1:13 this is the character design used in The Pathless. Nice to see it got used eventually.
By a different company no less hehe
sounds like a lot of what makes journey so meaningful ended up happening by accident. weird how things work out that way.
OK. The drawing at 1:21 is almost identical to the protag in Pathless, which is also made by Matt Nava!
this is one great production art talk
also cool to see this first design for Journyer made it into somewhere else. :eyes:
I hope he mentions Shadow of the Colossus because that's SO what early enemy concepts were based on
Wicked talk
My favorite Game beautiful art ever I seen in a video game 😘😘😘😘😘❤❤❤❤❤❤

No se pero los diseños de esos personajes hubiera sido genial que apareciera en el juego
All characters that are like a blob with two legs are good, e.g. Journey, Fall Guys, Among Us. Prove me wrong.
Beautiful game!
And you can buy the book for only £350! 😂
Take a drink for each "uuhm"
Please, get rid of stupid Cut Scenes! :( They are ruining the whole illusion. Hope the right people will read this and take it to heart
