This digital dashboard for old cars with bring technology into any vehicle & is not only the best CarPlay for 2024 but also the best Android Auto for 2025 & a fantastic Spotify Car Thing alternative.
The W901 Plus is not to be confused with the W901 Pro, an equally good portable head unit & another top car touch screen.
I go through the full Carpuride installation & go through how to install a dashboard screen in your vehicle.
I also show how to connect the dashboard console to your car via bluetooth, so you can still use hand free steering wheel controls. This is a must for any aftermarket digital dashboard, making the W901 Plus one of the best car infotainment system on the market currently.
Being able to watch Disney in a car, or stream movies on the road is a must to keep kids entertained on long journeys or to relax when you're on the side of the road.
The W901 Plus is essentially an Android 13 tablet so it's great there are finally dashboard consoles that download apps, as well as use bluetooth Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.
The screen is HD with a 9 inch 1024x600 pixel touchscreen & a built-in microphone. On the back there is a built-in 2W speaker & a dashboard mounting point. On the side are the ports: a DC 12V to 24v 3 amp port for power with the cable provided, a USB-A port, a 3.5mm AV out port for an aux cable, a 3.5mm reversing camera port, a micro-sd card slot & a 3.5mm microphone port. You can mount the portable head unit with an included suction cup or sticky pad mount.
The Carpuride W901 Plus runs on Android 12 & can be upgraded to Android 13. It has 2GB of RAM & 32GB of internal storage. It can connect to WiFi &, by logging into your Google account, you can download any app from the Play Store to the device.
The screen is bright, sharp, really responsive, and actually a pleasure to use. It’s very usable and you don’t have to tap buttons multiple times to get them to open or wait for the screen to catch up.
I also installed a full HD one from Carpuride which can be used in two ways. It comes with a 6 metre extension cable, plus a 0.5m cable attached to the camera. Plug the 3.5mm cable into the W901 and press the rear camera button and you’ll get a lovely full screen view of the rear of your vehicle. The red wire is to be spliced into your reversing bulb wire, so when you put your vehicle in reverse, the Carpuride 901 will automatically bring up the reversing camera instead of having to press the button every time.

I like using wired carplay because when i use wireless there's a audio delay if I'm watching a video or a TikTok when I'm parked with aux cord i can still use all steering wheel controls. The dual Bluetooth is good only if your trying not to have that many wires hanging around i was able to tuck all my wires in so you cant see them to me its more reliable wired .

so my concerns would be screen glare for passengers, for people who don't want to remove the device all the time hot summers would likely damage the battery, do you know if either of these issues are addressed?

Hi, the screen is dimmable so glare isn't much of a problem, plus with night mode on maps it the screen is quite dark, and it doesn't have a battery in it so nothing to worry about there

what is the difference in W103 Pro vs W901 Plus? Why is W103 Pro more expensive than W901 Plus if W901 is the latest model?

I'm not sure what the reason for the price difference is but the main difference between them are that the 901 can install apps from the Play Store and bluetooth steering wheel controls work. The W901 Plus is definitely the better model!
