  • Austin Forkner’s Pro Circuit KX250 is a melding of factory parts, Pro Circuit components and some secret sauce that we aren’t allowed to discuss. But, in truth, many of the parts can be bought from the Pro Circuit catalog-so you could build your own Austin Forkner Replica-to a point. Mitch Payton uses what he feels are the best products. Of course, if Mitch doesn’t like what’s available, he builds it himself. No expense is spared-which is why Pro Circuit has won over 200 AMA Pro races and more titles than any other team.
The MXA wrecking crew decided to break Forkner’s 2019 Kawasaki KX250 race bike down part by part. It is an extensive list of mods, but it gives you a good idea of how far a modern race team has to go to stay competitive.

Great video, great technical explanations. But even greater would be to have more riding at real speed without music and more riding feedbacks. We all knew from the start that this bike must have great suspension and power. Fantastic machine, for sure. Thanks for these videos.

Parts should be made available to general public

Why? Sure it would put people on equal equipment. But in the end it does no matter if the guy at 18th - 25 place gets work parts he is just not as good as the top dogs anyway. I might agree that certain parts should be granted access to privaters. But if people think that someone with less skill will turn into a contender because he get access to some works parts they are simply wrong. It might improve a little bit but for a full race at the top level you see the same pattern over and over wich guys falls into wich position in the field based on their skills (not saying they are bad riders far from it) but in racing there is always someone better and if you fall under that category you will also earn parts or land a major ride.
If anything i think they should all be on A kit suspension for the lights class and everbody on the gate should have access to transmissions due to the risk of falling into neutral or breakdown.
As for the average Joe , you can almost by everything of the showroom floor from PC and KTM sure some secret parts and what not but call mitch and say i want my kawi to be literally the same as forkners and he give you one except japanese and unobtanium parts but would you need those parts, absolutely not except for being cooler in the pits. I would like to add that four strokes are not greatful to the Wallet for anyone and indeed not for the privaters or the general public and it makes it hard for people to race. But to get secret parts you should also perform and utilize that part, they are made for a reason to push the rider and machine to an extent only a certain handfull in the world can.

Who will pay 20-50k for suspension and a full race engine?

    • @devinwillard6747

Why? And if you can afford the parts the factory teams have. Then you could probably afford to hire someone to make your own factory parts. Shit is expensive!

Cool, so far that's PC, RB KTM and Honda running illegal suspension in the 250 class. Must be available all season to any pro rider for a certain price point. I think it is 5,800 for the forks and $2,600 for the shock.
Great job, AMA/FIM. Give Tickle a question mark suspension which includes him not being allowed to race events you don't don't hold water to all for a fucking trace amount of something not even performance enhancing in a nasal spray and dock guys points for illegal fuel with trace amounts of something in it... but allow full works suspension keep going by in a restricted class for the last few years and do absolutely nothing.
I'm over it, I'm not renewing my AMA membership. Glad I didn't waste $ on a lifetime. Dick head pencil pushers who have never even sat on a bike are ruining racing for everyone while handing all control to corporate media and a sanctioned European racing body who should have zero pull in how our racing is held, much less controlling it.

It's happened before multiple times, most recently in Arena Cross. Factory support racer bikes stolen (Travis Sewell/Cody Vanbuskirk,) the day before an event. A local shop provides bikes. Sewell qualified first, finished first in his heat, and finished fourth on the night. Vanbuskirk finished 6th on the night. I think the outdoor tracks will greatly favor the heavily modified bikes, but in supercross/arenacross where the tracks are tighter and power potential of the bike isn't fully used, as long as the rider is happy with the power tuning and suspension, they will still likely be competitive. Remember Andrew short would pull holes hots every week during supercross over all the factory riders and he was just a privateer/support rider. If it wasn't for his stamina/training, he could have been on the podium many times.
