I lived in Dublin for most of the 70’s, during the worst of the troubles. I remember the Dubliners singing this, only they changed Belfast to Dublin, which bugged me.

this is an auld childs skiprope sang from the south of scotland/north of england. a remember as a wee boy we used too annoy the lassies when they were trying to skip.

I have always purchased quality "starter" and "adult" instruments for the family but considering size too. I expect our instruments to last a lifetime. Plus, I'm too poor to buy cheap. For a starter bodhran, try the tunable 14" by McNeela. My 18" drum by Brendan White is way too big for Francis!
