Bernie was fighting for all of us when we didn't even know his name, not out of personal gain but out of sheer decency.
I'm a Canadian who has been following this entire campaign and I have been so touched by Bernie's message and the movement that is behind him. This video gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my manly northern eyes. It's time for real change everywhere. Not just in America, but here in my own country as well.

Look at all the times he spoke to a nearly empty room.
Look at all the times people left the room because they didn't want to listen.
Look at all the times he called out someone for saying something offensive, and got yelled at for it.
For years...long before we could ever hear his voice, for DECADES, since his high school and college years, he's fought for us. For the minority, and the majority.
Finally, we can hear his voice. Finally, someone heard OUR voice, IS our voice, HAS BEEN our voice, and finally we can use OUR voice, thanks to him speaking up.
Can you imagine how hard it must have been to stand there, with a speech you worked hard on, with charts you spent hours putting together, to give your speech until your voice is sore, and still watch people leave the room until only one person stays? How much courage and strength it must've taken to stand up to a crowd of hundreds who disagree with you, but still stick to your opinion?
He's done it dozens of times. From 1% of the vote, to over 70%, in one year. From one listener, to twenty-seven-thousand, filling up a stadium AND the parking lot. From barely making local news, to being covered at least once by every news outlet - social, commercial, government, you name it - across the country. From just a couple people locally endorsing him, to being asked to visit the Vatican by the very Vatican itself.
Without a single bank. Or corporation. Or government fund.
Only with the people, the ones excluded, the ones who can't shout loud enough to be heard.
We have our Superman, guys. He's in his 70s, has white hair and glasses, and a thick accent.

Bernie is my hero, and iv never had a hero
This fills me with so much emotion, it makes me cry. Thank you TYT, and most of all thank you Bernie for giving me hope in America again. Giving me hope that I can make a difference. Giving hope to so many others, and fighting so hard and so honestly.
After a 24 hour bout of depression resulting from the outcome of the New York primary, I regained my composure long enough to see things from a different perspective. Maybe a Bernie Sander's loss of the Presidency could be the best outcome in the long run. He has become an iconic force for the left, progressives and liberals alike. Books and songs will be written about him, documentaries and movies made, and parks and monuments will probably be dedicated to him in his honor. The protest candidate will get a lot more done if he is able to continue to protest. He could continue leading the progressive agenda long after the next POTUS is sworn in. The best part would be that his legacy would remain untarnished by the eventual compromises that inevitability would come about in the Oval Office. He would escape any backlash from the left that would ensue if in fact he had no other choice but to stray from his original platform. I am still holding out hope for his (what would undoubtedly be an extraordinary) presidency, however , with all he has accomplished so far, whose to say he isn't the next Ghandi or Mandela? They will forever be beloved and remembered, unlike many of our forgotten presidents. There is always a silver lining!

Not going to lie, it has been a sad day. As a proud NY-er I'm saddened after we let Bernie down yesterday. But this video has brightened my mood. It reminds me just how amazing this man is and how many people he has inspired.

mrbonzzai I agree completely bro and I understand fully that the fight only becomes harder the less of us that partake in it. I know what Kant's categorical imperative is, so I understand the need to push as hard as we can very much, especially considering that each 1 of our voice can counter the voice of every 1 naysayer or opponent. However what I was trying to say isn't about what we should do and strive to do, but that even if people do that there's simply a limit to what they can actually do without losing their sanity or completely giving up their lives, jobs and family. That's why I said Bernie can afford to do this as much as he does because it's his job. But it isn't as sustainable for normal people (not saying that Bernie isn't normal, but not everyone can be a politician). It sucks that this is the situation in the society we find ourselves in.
I'm not even American and I love this man and his ideals! Every person I have talked to here in New Zealand wants Bernie to win. Its so frustrating when it looks like the majority of Americans seem too lazy to do that little bit of research to realize he is what they need. The US effects all nations in some way so I really want to see a moral, honest person not only leading the United States forward but the the whole world. Keep strong Bernie supports and spread the word as there is a whole bunch of people looking in without a voice but just as passionate as you. There is always hope!

I would argue that those senators who couldn't be bothered to listen to Benie Sanders in the Senate were not just slighting him, but the hundreds of thousands who chose him to represent them, but to be honest I doubt many of them care about their own constituents so it's all moot.

That being said, he has already won... He has shown the path to a better society, he has shown mio. of people what can be done, without taking money from special interest, and if he plays his cards well, he will make a platform in the democratic party, that is far more effective, and more progressiv than what we have seen in many years... And next time, with almost certainty, the next Bernie will win (hopefully with the help of Bernie)

The Sanders campaign needs to do a supercut of archival footage of Bernie's best moments, and of Hillary's worst. Her speaking out against gay marriage, her support for the Iraq war, her talk about superpredators.
