I can't believe you didn't go to Ed Fernandez for this Birria video. Ed Fernandez is the best Birrieria in San Diego although the places in this video did look good.
Thanks for featuring my fav place and the shout out! Birreria La Lotería is a family owned business that deserves all the shout outs! So yummy and authentic. ❤
Hi Jay, thanks for your video. We once had Mexican food in San Diego old town. What you showed looked delicious. Next year we will do another tour and then I definitely want to eat burritos and tacos. I would love to see a 2nd part of this..thank you..greetings from the Netherlands👌👌👌
Hey Jay I love your content. I'm going to San Diego this January and would love to see an asian food tour. Also how is the weather in January? thank you!
Those are all solid places. Hopefully soon Tuetano Taqueria will open up in Chula Vista and you can experience a bone marrow version that will blow your mind.
Agave birria leucidia was the first time we ever had carne asada fries and fish burrito and we absolutely loved it. Highly recommend it. Only found it because we stayed in leucidia after watching your videos 👍
I mean, hopefully you not only do a part 2, but also parts 3, 4, 5 and 6!!! Birria is where it is at, and we have so many top tier options here in San Diego!
So happy to see SD content again!! You should do a tamale video, lobster roll, the zip line in Ja Jolla, food in Julien… Thank you for the content Jay!!
Ok, there is a lot to unpack here. IMO a restaurant that has one birria item is not a birria restaurant. I absolutely love Quiero/City Taco (Mike Hess just sells beer). They make amazing Tacos. It is one of my fav taco joints, but it simply is not a birria joint. Hell consomme is not even an option. To be a birria restaurant birria needs to be an actual menu item. Simply having an item or two that contains some birria meat does not qualify. You need to be able to order birria. It usually comes in a cup/bowl sold by the pound/kilo and you get the fixins: tortillas, cabbage limes etc. and you construct tacos that you then dip in the provided consomme. That is the birria experience. It is like going to a carnitas restaurant. Having some items that have carnitas does not make that location a carnitas restaurant. I think you know what I mean. You have been to Ed Fernandez. I understand why you did not include that as you have never been there before. Another big problem: nothing from Broadway Chula Vista. You really need to do some reporting on that location. Simply put: Broadway Chula Vista is hands down the location of the best Mex food in San Diego. Having a best of anything Mexican food in San Diego without mentioning BCV is just wrong. Old Town is a touristy joke in comparison (although Tuetano really does kill it, but they moved from CV to Old Town so there is that). You did include some wonderful food choices, but not once did you go to a place and just order birria. It also appears that you only ordered beef birria. Lamb or goat birria sould also be conidered. You should really do some more Broadway CV exploration. Most tourists don't even know it exists.
What a waste of money $6 for 1 taco to go at the first place I don't think so Definitely not going To that rip-off place in San Diego no matter how good The taco is no taco should ever be $6 unless it has like kobe beef in it But even then no $6 is crazy for one taco
Thanks Jay will have to give a couple of these places a try.
Great video! Hungry now lol

Hello 👋🏽 Jaycation Yum 😋
LOVE Birria! As a San diego local I do say I do not recommend Mike's red taco. Kinda gross. Just my opinion what ever :0
Maybe I just went on a bad day 🙃

Stand Birria! 😮
This looked so risky, with the light colored Taylor shirt... just saying😋😋😋
