Actually, i think its that there’s such a thing as god, a devil, or anything to do with it. The devil is the prophet that starts a religion (for his gain and influence), and people follow it and do batshit crazy things in its name.

The funniest part is the best country for an Islamic Arab to live in is arguably Israel. About 20% of the population is Arab and lives peacefully there and has real power and participation is the governing process but also Israel is a nation where you can thrive economically and have freedoms that do not exist in Islamic Theatrocracy states. I am an atheist who was raised Roman Catholic. Your faith/relationship with your God is a very personal thing and in my opinion, should be practiced within the confines of your home. No religion or doctrine should be forced upon those who don't choose to be "of the faith". ALL religion should be kept out of the public domain. In my opinion there's a simple solution. Ban ALL public forms of religion and relegate it to where it belongs....the home. ALL religions are found....wanting. Opinions invited.
Public is collection of private. Everything that happens in the public domain is a view of an individual, happened to be shared by others. Therefore it is impossible to keep private views out of the public. Individuals have to do their due diligence and study to inform themselves not depending on hearsay and political correctness. The Quran for example is a book. Pick it up read it and come to your own conclusions.

For most of those 1400 years, reasoning with Islam actually WORKED. Between the Christians and the Muslims, for most history the tolerant and reasonable of the two were the seconds. But that stopped to be true a couple of centuries ago: the Christian countries secularised, taking away power from the churches and forcing them to change tune and switch to preaching tolerance and human rights (after centuries spent fighting against both), while the Islamic countries became more fanatical and conservative as a difensive reaction towards the influence of the western countries. Now, reasoning won’t work with (most) muslims from purely Islamic countries, and yet it would have worked with most people from the ottoman or Abbasid empire. In the same way, now reasoning works with (most) Christians from Christian countries, but it wouldn’t have worked with most people from the medieval europe. The problem is not intrinsic in the specific religion, but in the cultures their members are affiliated to. Everyone will always find a way to make their own religion say what they want it to say, and support what they want it to support. Religions adapt to the culture of their members, not the other way around.
That's correct, I reckon. In any debate about Islam, whether it's arguing about burkhas, or Sharia, the only point that any opponent of Islam needs to make is to list a few 'bullet points' on the subject of Mohammed's biography. Then Islam becomes an absurdity as a spiritual quality, and the debate can close on those points.
@@joarcokru Christianity evolved when there were no external enemies anymore that could pose enough of a threat to the Christian countries that could be used to convince the population to “rally around their religious traditions to fight against the influence of the enemy that want to destroy their culture”. Also, it evolved only when access to instructions and higher studies became more widespread and stopped to be entirely controlled by the clergy, so cutting down the fraction of population that would blindly believe to the clergy on everything because “they (literally) know better” and creating a class of intellectuals both highly valued to the society and with not dependent to the clergy anymore. Those conditions… are sadly hard to get in many Muslim countries, because now their clergy is savvy enough to make sure to control schools as much as possible and, in many cases, to keep the women uneducated to keep a significant portion of the population unable to “know better” and develop independent ideas/have access to different ideas. And also as long as the “top dogs” will be the western countries, populist demagogues will be able to paint them as “the enemy that want to destroy our couture, we must rally around our religion to protect our culture or loose our own heritage’. There isn’t much the can be done externally to change those countries, the best that can be done is push for better level of scholarship and access to internet help people to learn about different ideas, but in most cases that is directly opposed by the imams. But the assimilations of immigrants should be easier, at least for the second or third generations, as long as isn’t allowed the creation of “ghettos” populated mostly by the members of those religions and where they impose their own rules, like sadly happen in the UK. That is very counterproductive for the integration.

BTW, the highest death tolls in wars happened across the 20th century, and was agnostic at best... The funniest part is the best country for an Islamic Arab to live in is arguably Israel. I am an atheist who was raised Roman Catholic. Your faith/relationship with your God is a very personal thing and in my opinion, should be practiced within the confines of your home. No religion or doctrine should be forced upon those who don't choose to be "of the faith". ALL religion should be kept out of the public domain. In my opinion there's a simple solution. Ban ALL public forms of religion and relegate it to where it belongs....the home. ALL religions are found....wanting. Opinions invited.
Public is collection of private. Everything that happens in the public domain is a view of an individual, happened to be shared by others. Therefore it is impossible to keep private views out of the public. Individuals have to do their due diligence and study to inform themselves not depending on hearsay and political correctness. The Quran for example is a book. Pick it up read it and come to your own conclusions.
Probably impossible given that you need shared values for the justice system, unless you accept to first and foremost believe in some other source of justice bigger than God, case in which you're probably not a believer.

Just why do you think you can REASON with Islam? Has it ever worked in 1,400 years? NO! Stop trying to be understanding, accepting, tolerant, etc...they are laughing at you! Total submission to Allah there is NO middle ground. EVER.
For most of those 1400 years, reasoning with Islam actually WORKED. Between the Christians and the Muslims, for most history the tolerant and reasonable of the two were the seconds. But that stopped to be true a couple of centuries ago: the Christian countries secularised, taking away power from the churches and forcing them to change tune and switch to preaching tolerance and human rights (after centuries spent fighting against both), while the Islamic countries became more fanatical and conservative as a difensive reaction towards the influence of the western countries.
Now, reasoning won’t work with (most) muslims from purely Islamic countries, and yet it would have worked with most people from the ottoman or Abbasid empire. In the same way, now reasoning works with (most) Christians from Christian countries, but it wouldn’t have worked with most people from the medieval europe. The problem is not intrinsic in the specific religion, but in the cultures their members are affiliated to. Everyone will always find a way to make their own religion say what they want it to say, and support what they want it to support. Religions adapt to the culture of their members, not the other way around.
That's correct, I reckon. In any debate about Islam, whether it's arguing about burkhas, or Sharia, the only point that any opponent of Islam needs to make is to list a few 'bullet points' on the subject of Mohammed's biography. Then Islam becomes an absurdity as a spiritual quality, and the debate can close on those points.
Christianity was just like that in the 16th century and evolved. What can we do to Islam so it goes through the same progress?

Christianity evolved when there were no external enemies anymore that could pose enough of a threat to the Christian countries that could be used to convince the population to “rally around their religious traditions to fight against the influence of the enemy that want to destroy their culture”. Also, it evolved only when access to instructions and higher studies became more widespread and stopped to be entirely controlled by the clergy, so cutting down the fraction of population that would blindly believe to the clergy on everything because “they (literally) know better” and creating a class of intellectuals both highly valued to the society and with not dependent to the clergy anymore.
Those conditions… are sadly hard to get in many Muslim countries, because now their clergy is savvy enough to make sure to control schools as much as possible and, in many cases, to keep the women uneducated to keep a significant portion of the population unable to “know better” and develop independent ideas/have access to different ideas. And also as long as the “top dogs” will be the western countries, populist demagogues will be able to paint them as “the enemy that want to destroy our couture, we must rally around our religion to protect our culture or loose our own heritage’. There isn’t much the can be done externally to change those countries, the best that can be done is push for better level of scholarship and access to internet help people to learn about different ideas, but in most cases that is directly opposed by the imams.
But the assimilations of immigrants should be easier, at least for the second or third generations, as long as isn’t allowed the creation of “ghettos” populated mostly by the members of those religions and where they impose their own rules, like sadly happen in the UK. That is very counterproductive for the integration.

I know many of you will respond, how do we know who is right with so many religions. Same way we know anyone is right about anything, logic, research, reasoning and factual evidence. Just because many people think 2+2=5 doesn't mean that there is no answer to the equation, I see atheist use that same logic all the time, just because many have it wrong doesn't mean that no one can have it right, Christianity and the Bible is 100% historically accurate and Jesus prophecies have come true time and time again.
What I don’t understand is that he think Britain would be better under Sharia law. But why don’t you just live in a country that is already under Sharia law so that you can live your life in the way that you believe it should be intended instead of pushing your beliefs on a society that is not historically Islamic?
