That "God..." at the start of the third verse is like bedman realizing his situation and near breaking down into tears, but he picks back up later, as if he hates where he is but won't let it stop him from protecting Delilah. Beautiful song.
We Strive players now own the shape of a circle. Anytime someone talks about circles, we’ll always be there to say “IIIIIII SEE THE CIRRRRRRCLE *aaaaayayayaaaaaa~aaaaayayayaaaaa*”
I first listened to this song right before going to sleep too. It's been two weeks, and it's still playing on repeat in my head. I can't sleep. It won't stop looping. It has no beginning or end. ya know, like a C I R C L E
the thing about engrish lyrics that I love so much is that they're much less literal than traditional english songwriting. it makes the meaning and themes much more open to interpretation since the language is being used to express emotions far more than ideas
I actually started playing Strive recently at the recommendation of a friend (who also got me to play Persona finally, she's gonna get me into every game she plays at this rate), and I've been going through the OST learning how every song goes incredibly hard. The Circle is definitely... odd to say the least, but it fits a character as odd as Bedman. Personally I'm a Chipp main and my favorite character theme as a result is Play the Hero, but all of them are pretty solid. I actually didn't know how much I'd like Guilty Gear since I'm not that good at fighting games, but it's actually the first fighting game I've been decent at since Smash Ultimate in like 2019, so it's actually been pretty fun so far!
@@coimbritos7025 I've worked for the past few years under the assumption that if a game has good enough music and I'm even slightly interested in the game itself, I'm gonna play it eventually. That's how I started Persona 5, I've been listening to some of the music since Joker came to Smash and even though I'm not generally the biggest fan of RPGs. As it turns out, I started Persona 5 this February and have been addicted to the series since listening to the music on a daily basis. It's a pretty solid basis to figure out what games you wanna try honestly! If you don't like the game you at least paid for the countless hours of music you've listened to before playing!
you know at first i didnt like this song and thought it didn't fit the vibe of strive but after I spent a whole week only listening to this I can say it may have become my favorite song in strive that or fausts
Honestly Strive songs are like shoes, they may be uncomfortable at first, but then when you break it in they actually become some of the best video game music of all time
I see I'm not the only one playing an air bass when the song starts! Glad as always to hear your covers, Jerod. Keep on drummin', even tho I don't need to tell you since it's plainly obvious that you love doing it :>
I remember this video! I made a comment about bedman? Being a Murphy bed at 3:23, and seeing the reactions from both Jerod and Del was hilarious 🤣 Also, it goes without saying that this song is STILL stuck in my head, it’s really catchy!
This is another of my favorite themes in the game! It also helps that Bedman? was the first character that really caught my attention and made me want to learn more about!
Can someone try and tell him to do Sin's Theme "The Hourglass", I don't know if he's heard it but it's such a feel-good vibe song that I know he would love.

The audacity of the modern performer daring to interpret such profound music through the medium of percussive rhythm - your endeavor, however is as admirable as it is misguided. Your rhythmic interpretation of the divine's perception of light, chant, and warmth, while entertaining to the untrained ear, fails to capture the critique of divine apathy and humanity's need for validation from a higher power. The subsequent lines, which you so enthusiastically drummed out, suggest divine indifference to human suffering, a concept that seems to have been lost in your performance. The dichotomy of "Pitch black, pure white" and "Endless, finite" represents existence's dual nature these contradictory states are one and the same, a concept likely too complex for your drumsticks to convey. "Consuming ten billion years in an instant" is a poignant reminder of time's fleeting nature a concept that your rapid drumming ironically embodies. The promise to come "without a second thought" could be seen as a declaration of unwavering commitment, a rarity in today's self-centered society and yet, it seems to have been reduced to a mere drum fill in your performance. In conclusion while your drumming skills may be commendable your understanding of the philosophical depth of these lyrics leaves much to be desired. But fear not, for art's beauty lies in its ability to evoke a response, regardless of understanding. And in that, at least, you have succeeded. -- Bedman imitation exercise aside, I always dig your Guilty Gear covers. Great stuff.
“I may not be able to make you smile but I’ll never make you cry not even once” is such a good line god I love this song
At first I didn’t like this song
On the third run through I understood. It slaps, you just gotta know why it slaps.
I guess you saw the circle
You saw the radiant light
You heard the beautiful chant
You felt the tender warmth
But nothing here
“Whats the circle?“
“Only the most sophisticated musical experience ever created by humans. And its circular! *CIRCULAR* “
This version of Bedman reminds me of Bioshock Big Daddies protecting their Little Sisters.
Oh my GOD that is TOTALLY what I’ve been trying to think of this WHOLE TIME. Thank you 😂😭
I'm a simp for robots protecting small children
