That was a great video! Pace, knowledge, skills, clarity, editing all spot on! I've been meaning to dig into Opal and now I have the inspiration. Looking forward to watching more of your content. Thanks!
Bought this a few months ago and still down the opal rabbit hole....brilliant device. Excellent video. But I'll have to watch it twice to tote get it. Good work dude.
Nice tutorial thanks! I have two issues when routing audio from opal to different tracks: - First when I print audio from let's say Gem to an audio track that is grouped with the main opal midi track, I can not hear only the audio track, I keep hearing the opal midi track going on and on when I press play. I don't really know how to fix this: soloing the audio track doesn't work. And I can't see what you mute/unmute on your screen because your camera is often on top of the mixer section. - When I try to export this as a preset in my user library it creates a copy of the opal.amxd file right underneath, which doesn't seem to be the case for you. How can I fix this? Many thanks
Hey, sorry about the camera blocking the channel! I think you need to solo the engine inside Opal. Second thing, I just dragged and dropped the group into my user library, simple as that. Hope this helps!
@@impulsecontrol I did. Problem is, that the OPAL System has the Randomization wizard built in in the sequencer only. If you use the Synth+Seq, no midi is let through to the synth engine. Tried so many ways. Would like to have my main melody notes coming from somewhere else (Stepic or Melody Sauce) AND use the "Surprise me" button.
@@impulsecontrol but essentially you can only have 1 sample loaded at a time correct? i can’t sequence say like 4 of my own samples in the same engine at the same time?
@@NealCaenThere’s another Max For Live sampler I can recommend that would do exactly that! Up to 2000 samples, Is that enough? 😅 isotonikstudios.com/product/coalescence-by-dillon-bastan/?ref=IMPULSECONTROL
The guy who owns Fors and does the development/programming used to work for Elektron. He designed the Digitone I believe and I’m sure some of the other machines
The editing and overall presentation of this video is fantastic. This is the most thorough demonstration of Opal that I've found.
That is lovely to hear, so happy you found this useful 🙏🏼😌
Great video fella!. Was waiting for a simple detailed version of this device. So much fun!.
Thanks! 🙏🏼😌

I think we will never finish learning things about this device! So unique!
I like that they offered all the parts as modules. Opal ctrl with orchestral stuff from spitfire, or a drum rack of chiral and the other fors synths
It’s actually a big part why I love this device, haven’t seen any other plugins that offer that feature
Nice! Digitakt sequencing in ableton ⚡️
And only £750 cheaper 🤨
Yeah man, Opal is 198% a monster of a device and the modulation options make this what it is.
Why not 200%? 🤨
good video, the workflow reminds me a lot of my syntakt, I'm sure the creator has one
Looks good!
Indeed!
I just like to see what you do on your channel. Bought a couple of Opal devices a few months ago. I'm still amazed about them.
Thanks! Appreciate that 🙏🏼😌Everything they make is brilliant!
Elektron in Ableton, nice!
And much much cheaper as well!
So cool
So cool indeed!
Bought this one! It’s great 💎
Nice one!
Opal is one of my most used plugins.
It’s too good!

@@impulsecontrol absolutely nothing to be sorry about, thanks for the answer and the great video
@@TristanBaldiWith Pleasure!
need your help please :) how should i do to make screen of opal bigger ? thanks
Hmm I’m not quite sure, try looking at the manual
Im very curious about this device but haven't been able to understand what it is fully.
What about it you don’t understand?
Would it be possible to the midi from the sequencing part to another vst?
Yes, when you buy the plugin you get a standalone version of the sequencer and all the different engines
Can you use the sequencer for other plug ins ??
Yes absolutely!
Hi , how can I reset the pattern to start from Scratch. Thx
Hmmm I’m not sure 🤔
Can you use this device inside Push?
I have no idea, sorry
I would like to use Opal synth with the randomizer but with the DAW internal sequencer. It's not possible :(
When you buy this plugin you get all the different engines as a separate plugin too!

@@AntiPattern123I see, unfortunately I don’t have a solution for that, maybe email Fors with that suggestion?
this thing makes me want to sell my op-z haha, is it possible to load and sequence your own samples ?
Yep, Slate is a granular engine, I think it’s Technique 7 in this video

@@NealCaen just duplicate the track 4 times on Ableton and change the sample in each one?
@@a2kjao yes that could work, but it’d be alot cooler to mess with the samples all in one instance of opal, just like you would in a drum rack.

Seems like the Elektron Digitakt and sequencer in software form.
And a different of £750 in price 🤨

I am talking about a jeans 👀
I hope you bought Opal after making this video if you still use it. you should be supporting independent developers.
I don't think so. He is promoting the product.
I just spent a whole week producing this video, promoting their product for free 👀
Best video out there for Opal….Great job sir
