No it isn't another Road Sofa or Step Up seat video...make sure to check this one out as I feature one of my favorite Saddlemen Seats that I feel is very underrated and not talked about that often. I will show you all the components of the seating system, give you my real world experience with the seat after approximately 8,000 miles and give you a comparison to a very similar seat that is sold by CIRO at a much higher price point. I ordered the Dominator after watching your vid. I just got the Mustang Deluxe and tried Sad road sofa but not too sure about it. Any thoughts on Dominator vs Sofa /Mustang deluxe ?
@Pach696 Thanks for watching and commenting. I can't comment on the Mustang as I've never ridden with one. The Dominator and Road Sofa two seats I've put a lot of miles on. The Road Sofa is definitely the ultimate touring seat for me. I use that seat typically when I'm going to be riding all day and over a number of days. for a passenger as well. I run the Dominator daily on two of my bikes. It's a great seat as well and I have also used it on long trips. The Dominator set up is not as comfortable for a passenger as compared to the Road Sofa. Saddlemen seats are firm due to the Gelcore and high density foam construction. In my opinion, a firm seat is a good seat as they don't break down like a lower quality seat. I've ridden 50,000 plus miles on Saddlemen seats and they don't break down and look as good as new after years of riding. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
Thanks Ty for watching and commenting. I really like the Dominator seat system...gives a bit of flexibility to the set up and you don't have to order it all at once. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
Hi Rick! Thanks for this review. I’ve been trying to decide on a new seat for my 2021 street glide special, this review is very helpful. Another quality video with great insight.
Bought a dominator extended seat last year for streetglide st. Great looking seat and well made for sure. Took about 5k mileage to bed in as quite hard from new. Sits about 11/2 inches higher than stock seat. I’m 240 lb and 6ft, find the seat too narrow, needs to be 4inch wider. Pretty comfy seat, though not much different to stock on long haul, and that’s with ohlins shockers, uk roads a pretty poor though.
Thanks for watching and commenting. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
I have the Dominator, the backrest and the touring pillion. Love it! It’s so comfortable! I’m 5’10”, 30” inseam and have no problems flat footing my Street Glide. Biggest complaint, I guess the only complaint really, is when I have the pillion on it pushes me forward an inch or so. But I ride 95% without it. Saddlemen also makes a matching fender bib that I have as well. Bonus-you can leave it on and the pillion fits over it.
Thanks Roger for watching and sharing your experience with the Dominator set up. Thanks for your continued support to the channel. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊✌️👍
I have the Saddleman road sofa. After the last 10k miles I can confidently say it’s like riding an $800 brick cover in leather. Trust me - I regret not having my stick seat every day.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Saddkemen sears are a firmer seat and not for everyone...fortunately they work well for me and its the only seat brand I will run on my bikes. I found the stock seats too soft and once the foam broke down, my tailbone was causing tremendous pain...almost to the point that I couldn't ride. Then switched to Saddlemen and no more tailbone pain. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍

YES! like the seat and on your recommendation I did buy it. Went to install and found hazing on clear coat from stock seat... polished the haze out and installed the saddleman 👍✌️👍
Thanks Cory for watching and commenting. The hazing from the stock seat is almost a given unless you take it off immediately. Thanks for your continued support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
Hey Rick thanks for a great review on the Dominator seat. I have a 2013 Fat boy low and will be ordering that seat very soon. That's the best review I have seen on the seat. For some reason the most popular seat for a softail seems to be the Saddlemen Explorer. The Dominator is way better looking and the real cool fact is it can broken down to a single seat. Thanks Rick
Thanks for watching and commenting. Glad you enjoyed the video. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👍👊
I rode my 2024 Ultra for 500 miles and immediately ordered the Saddlemen Dominator low solo with backrest and the Dominator touring pillion and the Dominator king tour pack pad.. All total $1081.00, I didn't think that was bad for comfort.
Thanks Bob for watching and sharing your experience. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
I purchase this seat also but haven't been abke to ride on it yet, i also upgraded my suspension finally from stock 16 sgs crap to the wilbers nivomat and cant wait to ride with both, if I could do it all over I would do suspension and seat first before anything

I have heard nothing but good things about the Sadlemen seats. I have the ASR seat. Will look into the Saddlemen seats sometime. Thanks for another great video and explanations
The asr is the same seat as the dominator. Just some cosmetic touches. When I researched seats before buying my dominator I found that the asr is made by saddlemen for ciro
@ssbolts88 Thanks for watching and sharing that info. That would explain why the price is higher on the ASR. Everyone has the make their money in the chain. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
I want to get a Dominator but no dealer around the Stl area has one for demo. I just picked up a road sofa from a guy in Jeff city for $200. I demoed the road sofa and liked it.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Have you checked at Gateway Harley? I was just there today, but didn't notice if they have a Dominator to test. Give them a call and talk to Jeremy in parts. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
Thanks for watching and commenting. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍

Man. I have the extended reach dominator, with backrest, and the wide pillion. We did 870 miles this weekend and even with a sheep skin over it to help with the heat. We were absolutely miserable after 150 miles I have about 2k miles on it and I have a road sofa coming to replace it. It looks great and is comfortable for short rides. I'm going to chalk it up thst my 40" waist is to wide for a 12" wide seat. My tailbone hurt, pain where my butt cheeks meet my thighs. Wife butt kept going numb 🤷 No hate on the seat though. What works for one doesn't work for everyone
Does the seat itself have any back/hip support with that back lip? Seat looks great, right now I’m using a cvo style amazon seat that is comfortable, looks really good, but is too soft for long rides and no support.
@jackbos4691 Thanks for watching and commenting. The seat has great support and is not soft like the inexpensive and even Harley seats that just are foam padded. The GelCore built into the seat is a game changer. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
Thanks for watching, commenting, and subscribing. I'd say definitely go for the tour version of the pillion for more passenger comfort. If you ate not doing long days or days in a row on the pillion, she should be fine. If you plan to do frequent long trips, I'd suggest the Road Sofa as this would be the most comfortable for both rider and passenger. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
@rickygandley5438 Thanks for watching and commenting. The one in the background is the regular step up with the tuck and roll. I also have the tour step up in tuck and roll. Earlier this year I did another video comparing several of the Saddlemen seats I run. You can go to the Saddlemen Playlist on the channel to check them out. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍

If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so much. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
I have a pretty sensitive tailbone due to an injury so I have been looking into seats with a recessed middle. How would you say the pressure on your tailbone is after riding with this seat? Thank you!
Thanks for watching and commenting. I too had tailbone pain when riding on the stock seats. Once I switched to Saddlemen seats...no more tailbone pain. This particular seat is designed with the lowered middle section specifically to have little to no pressure on the tailbone. I'd definitely recommend it. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
I refuse to buy anymore seats I went back to my stock Harley seat. I spent just under 4 grand on all sorts of seats. I’m done buying crappy seats. So for no one I won’t buy a seat until the seat company sends me a seat and if I like it In 3 months I’ll buy it. But so far nothing
Thanks for watching and commenting. Sorry to hear you can't find the right seat for you. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
