No kidding huh? Because I don't remember having ever having signed one. And why's it still called a 'contract' anyway?
Just cut down to the chase: people obey the laws, which for the most part they have neither been consulted about or have had any input in framing, of a society because if they don't there's the standing threat of being punished through the loss of property, liberty, reputation and even life in some cases (or even a lot of cases if you're just suspected of having broken the law if you're Afro-American in the US).
Anway, that's 1 minute and 34 seconds that I've wasted only to have it confirmed to me that the whole notion of a "social construct" is nonsense talk.

And it's enforced on only one of the "parties", and where it's always happens to the same, that "breaks" the "social contract".
The brutalist and tyrannical Fascist regimes underpinned by the philosophy of the social contract - the way I see it.
