You know what the real tragic part is? Anakin was a slave his whole life... From Tatooine, to the Jedi Order to the Sith. His only true freedom was death and his son.
a man with lived his life in chains be it the jedi the sith the force and to life itself. by breaking those chains of not only enslavement but of the force itself was he able to die a free man.
Can't help but notice that in that moment when Palpatine was killing Luke that he was hearing Padma beg him to return to the light. "Stop, now! Come back. I love you!" Jesus it brings out the depth of Vader. The pain and self hatred he must have had to go through to do all he did as Vader, only to turn away from all that to give his life for his son. #VaderIsTheChosenOne
I mean in a comic where Vader beat Maul. Where Maul was “the embodiment of hatred”. Maul asked how Vader could beat him and Vader was quoted as saying “No one will ever hate anything more than I hate myself.” Mind you this was after he killed Maul by impaling himself with his own lightsaber. So yeah he really did hate himself that much.
I cried so hard. Only because i felt Anakin on every level.. in every way.. the elders of my community always took me for a great person. Destined for holiness..as it ran in my blood with great power and medicine. I can't help but feel i steered from my path.. a path i was supposed to fulfill.. i let every one down.. this wasn't the way things were supposed to be.. this isn't my life. I know what it feels like to be on the other end of the saber.. to be a complete contradiction to what you're supposed to be.
If I have one complaint about this movie, it's that his relationship with Ahsoka wasn't really fleshed out, and aside from a brief glimpse towards the end, their battle at the end of Rebels Season 2 wasn't given nearly the significance I think it deserves. I'd have definitely drawn more from TCW and Rebels if I'd made this video, but then, if I'd made this video, it wouldn't be neary as good, because everything else about it is fantastic. :P
Agreed. It may be a relatively recent addition to the lore but Vader’s relationship with Ahsoka is pretty major part of his story, and his gradual descent to the dark side
I've watched this fan video so many times and I'm always blown away at how amazing the editing is. It's just phenomenal and I just love the music that goes along with it especially in the emotional moments. I've watched other videos by HFP before but The Chosen One is my top favorite and I watch it quite often because I enjoy it so much.
disagree about the music, I think it fit perfectly. Just missed some editing here and there, the original sounds came through randomly and meshed weird, but other than that..
I highly recommend reacting to The Old Republic: Rescue Mission - (2015) Short Film by Torrm Production. It seems to get overlooked quite often for some reason despite being really good. Plus, how often do you see a fan film set in the old republic? :)
Not gonna lie, I'm not a huge fan of the music either lol. Me or someone else should've mentioned that The Chosen One was one of HFP's early reactions and despite it being done incredibly well, is still below the quality of Kenobi, The Greatest Teacher Failure Is and even Kanan Jarrus: Jedi Knight. That said, nice reaction! I'm glad you let the video play and only chime in here and there. Reactors who talk the entire time, putting their 2 cents about each sequence really ruins the reaction. I love seeing the subtle nods you do and the hints in your eyes that you just saw something that really hit you. Does that sound weird? I don't know, maybe lol. I really just love watching people react to things that affect me so deeply. Can't wait for more and keep up the awesome work. You are seriously the most underrated Star Wars channel on UA-cam!
"Someday I'll even stop people from dying." Jokes on you Anakin. Rey could do it without a lick of training or experience. Hell, she didn't even know the force was real until a week ago. Stupid sequels.
@@h.plovecat4307 thats what doesnt make sense her explaination is always "she read the sacred jedi texts" dont you think literally every jedi in the order would? Yoda was 900, anakin was a jedi for 20+ years, luke had the texts for probably like 30 years, yet somehow shes the only one that has this extreme power from them. And someother peole have said its cause shes the chosen one thats bs george has said anakin is the chosen one several times, theres a behind the scenes that says "The chosen one featurette" about anakin, the mortis gods tell anakin he is the chosen one. I just don't get it but the only thing that I can guess is that disney didn't pay any attention
Honestly I kind of liked the background music. It was kinda nice as a breath of fresh air from the normal Star Wars music which is sooooo amazing. But it was nice to hear something else in my opinion
That moment where they brought Qui-gon back, bet part of the entire series. In my eyes, he salvaged the prequels, he made them epic. Imagine the prequels with Liam Neeson, stale right?
The lack of John Williams and the choppy editing sort of put me off too. But seeing his entire arc together, was sad. I don’t think there’ll ever be a tragic villain like Vader in cinema for a long time
I didn't miss it at all. I think it's over used a lot in order to mask poor story telling with nostalgia. Looking at you Episode "7, 8, and 9" .The important part is the story, and it is brutal, which I think the "choppy" editing brings out better than long flowing elaborate scenes.
TFA or as I call it Star Wars for girls, used the old music in order to get away with telling a sub par and frankly awful story. Had they not included it, people would have seen it for what it is. The same way people now see TLJ, and Solo. Not having to deal with musical induced nostalgia allows you to more clearly see the story being told. Nostalgia, like the dark side and anger, can cloud your judgement. On my point about the editing, I think it is meant to be somewhat "choppy", it helps lend weight to the tragedy of Vader's life. He made brash, choppy, decisions and paid for it with the ones he loved. Had it been slow and elegant, would have made it counter to everything Vader was. Did that help some?
If you've never done so, you HAVE to check out Make It Dirty's You Tube Channel. No one on YT does a better job making Star Wars videos than him (I could be wrong, but I am almost positive he works for Warner Brothers and puts together the trailers for all the dceu movies.) In fact, as good as this video was, HFP straight out steals a moment that Make It Dirty put in "Darth Vader Remembers". The moment when Vader is trying to decide whether or not to help Luke and you see and hear Padme say to Anakin "I love you" is exactly how MID did it in his "Darth Vader Remembers" video. I mean it's exactly like it. I would love to see your reaction to MID's videos. You and I have a very similar taste and a very similar mindset when it comes to Star Wars. So because of that, I'm telling you you will adore MID's videos.
Love this video, but what pisses me off is I feel like 7+8 completely ruin anakin's story. He brought balance to the force... then suddenly random Snoke? Come on..

People are tripping this music goes perfectly! Its beautiful
ANAKIN SKYWALKER is the TRUE Chosen One.
Not REY or BEN SOLO. PERIOD.
Nobody's arguing with you. Nobody said that Anakin wasn't The Chosen One.

Next one has to be “The Greatest Teacher, Failure Is.” probably the best video he has ever made.
Vortex Flash and one of if not the only thing to come out of the last Jedi
Yes he does need to do that one
The chosen one is better
I'd like HFP to do this video again. You can obviously tell his editing skills weren't as honed as they are now. Like a re-worked version
Remastered if u need the right word

I heard somewhere that if you're really skilled in editing you can like rip the original music off the scene or something and I've seen it done before
I think they should’ve been more subtle with the music, it was too loud through most of it
Another great one by them is "the greatest teacher, failure is."
I highly recommend reacting to The Old Republic: Rescue Mission - (2015) Short Film by Torrm Production. It seems to get overlooked quite often for some reason despite being really good. Plus, how often do you see a fan film set in the old republic? :)
Y’know, you’re right. You really don’t see many fan films set in the old republic era. Thanks for the recommendation, it’s added to the list!
