My Titanium Kizer Varatas with s35vn is still my favorite knife I think I’ve ever owned. It just checks all my boxes to be the perfect EDC folder for me. The Hawk is looking pretty sweet though!
I think that the Varatas is one of the best knife they ever made. Blade, execution, micro milling, action etc. For me it's Come before the Militaw. I own both and the Varatas is a beauty. Enjoy
@@Oneoneone111One it’s why I put “second” in quotations. Tongue-in-cheek, but I still think it’s confusing they don’t have one yet. Super lock shows they aren’t afraid of new locking mechanisms. Sure, their plunge-button locks are the best in the biz but the ceiling is so low on how good they can be compared to the button-actuated liner. Vosteed getting the button-liner out *immediately* AND going hard in the paint with the vanchor, makes Civivi’s delay puzzling. That’s all I’m sayin. Elementum 3 Button Lock first to debut their button-liner, I’m calling it now!
I wish the flickin’ hole on the Hawk was a different shape, or a thumb stud instead. It doesn’t match the other design elements, IMO. It distracts from an otherwise awesome looking knife. (Actually, I’m glad. It’ll save me some money. 😂)
Yes i have full videos on it and I've explained in many others, the end of the plunge is where the grind meets the thickness of the primary bevel if it's very close to the Edge you will hit it when sharpening making it look ugly
Thanks Jared for the video. I have a question. I want to get the Hawk. But in Canada, we have the choice S45VN or M390. No mention of the hrc. Witch one would you prefer and why ? Thank you
Pleeeeeease test Kizer’s heat treat on the S45. Hate to say it, but I think you’re gonna be bummed out. Kizer knives are great collector knives, but not the best if you use your knife a lot. That may offend some folks, but the data doesn’t lie.
@ the data he’ll collect when he does his testing. Not sure how new you are to knife collecting, but the reason Jared said that about Kizer’s heat treat is because unfortunately Kizer has a history of not always having the best hardness. I’ve been collecting 40 years and I can say Kizer has gotten a tad better, so I think they’re starting to listen to the concerns brought their way. But like I said, they’re great for collecting. Awesome looking knives, but versus let’s say a Spyderco for actual use…well that’s a huge no brainer. And that’s because of Spyderco’s great heat treat. Hope that makes sense. Thx for the question. I love seeing questions like yours. It shows your not just believing everything folks say on UA-cam 👍

NEW KIZER DROP TONIGHT AT 8PM CENTRAL THANK YOU FOR WATCHING
I got the dlc hawk a few days ago and am thoroughly impressed
Right!!

But have you tried the Militaw!?!

The black one of the Hawk in M390 DLC looks really sick. I wish they had kept the copper accents on that one too. Would even look better imo.
Kizer drops a “second” button liner lock before Civivi gets their first 😨 come on Civivi
It’s the same model
Nah civivi had one like 40 or 50 years ago.....
@@lonetrader1 lol 40 years ago?? what are you talking about?? Civivi has been making that for over 80 years at least.

Is that the hawk 1 or the hawk 2ah?
Both
You went there bro? hahaha
I like the last one, I've just never been a fan of "speed holes" in the scales.
It's soo good tho
No speed holes just seems like a no brainer. They're tolerated but rarely ever preferred. I don't understand why companies throw them on knives
@WillLiam32 exactly, tolerated not preferred. I woulda liked to see the clip side milling on the show side as well.
These are great, I prefer crossbar locks always have to keep an eye on what kizer bring out . Always great video brother 🏴🇺🇸
Love the knife, but speed holes? I just can't do it.
Can you explain what you mean when you mention the plunge grind and having a couple sharpenings in there?
Yes i have full videos on it and I've explained in many others, the end of the plunge is where the grind meets the thickness of the primary bevel if it's very close to the Edge you will hit it when sharpening making it look ugly
@@NeevesKnives Thanks
Thanks bro
Would LOVE Kizer to make a large Grouper with a 4 inch blade...
Oh, Brian Nadeau's gonna love the Hawk 😬
Thanks Jared for the video. I have a question. I want to get the Hawk. But in Canada, we have the choice S45VN or M390. No mention of the hrc. Witch one would you prefer and why ? Thank you
How do I convince my Mexican buddy to be my “sharpening cholo”?? I feel like he’d be a good fit.
I just told mine to be that, no "convincing" lol
Like he's gotta choice.....
@ yeah good call. Use my supremacy!! 😂
Screen shot this and send it to him lol
@@lonetrader1like he’s got a choice? Wtf is wrong with you?
How is this not racist?!
My Escort w/clutch lock is on the strongest setting.
Hey brother! Where might one find that green and gold holiday drop bear? I love it. Thanks!
I just ordered the hawk really wanted the polished dlc but the coupon I had wasn’t working so went with the same one you have
The Hawk is dope! I need one.

Carlos Elstner is the designer of the Hawk
Where do you buy the Xmas version of the drop bear Jared?
Shot shot shot shot shot shot shot shot shot shot Everybody!
Wheres the drop?? Cant find that Christmas drop bear anywhere, not even on kizers site
Why is the D2 Mini grouper basically the same price as the more premium ones??
That's what I was thinkin
I for some reason dont like blade holes or cut outs but god damn does that Kizer Hawk look gorgeous.
It's so great tho I'm carrying it now I like it even mofe
@@NeevesKnivesI feel like I should of ordered the dlc version idk if I like the copper backspacer

@@mikesummers8141 I see. Yes I always like seeing hardness and cut tests. FYI I'm about 30 years deep in the hobby.
Love me some Kizer
The Hawk is bad ass.
I’m kinda sad I ordered the satin version before I seen there was a dlc one 😢to late now lol
Does the Mini Grouper work okay for lefties?

Hawk?
HAWK TUAH! 😂
Hawk is hideously ugly
Why do all the people showing knives say "bam!"? Differentiate yourselves guys, there's wham! Bang! Pow! And many more.
Their Halloween and Chirstmas themed knives are so corny. Who buys that stuff!?
