Hi, this cake is gorgeous! Just wondering what gold dust is that! I usually end up with orange tinted gold dusts which is quite annoying and unrealistic. 😔
I am making this type of cake for my brothers wedding. What is the easiest way to get black fondant without making it hard to work with? Also what are you using for in-between the cakes?
In between the 2 bigger cakes is just another single layer cake. For the fondant, ai would just buy black fondant instead of making it. The amount of food coloring you would need would for sure make it hard to work with.
The cake is stunning I was just wondering what is the need for that one single-layer between the two tiered cakes? Thank you for sharing and keep on caking 💜
Rewatching older tutorials. Forgot how gorgeous this cake is. I absolutely love it. You can't tell where the buttercream ends and the fondant begins. Thank you for sharing and keep on caking 💜
How you do your buttercream because I try to freeze my cakes and the condensation kill my buttercream if you got a tip or recommendation please help me out I will appreciate it
Condensation can be a huge problem. I used to work out of a commercial kitchen and they had a huge fridge and freezer, which sound great but the doors were opened so much that my cakes were drenched all the time. I ended up having to relocate. I like a residential fridge because they seem to be dryer. Are you working with a residential?
Hi Mary great work. Question I notice while you were icing your cake, the color was more of a deep gray. How did you achieve the cold black afterwards? Will the icing darken as it sit? The cake is absolutely beautiful.
Typically I just use rolled up packing tape. There is always a cake board under each tier so it is food safe. If it is a foam cake dummy, I use hot glue;)
Beautiful Mary. At first I couldn't see where the design was going but you have a great vision. Thank you xx

Hello, is there a link for a video with you using the plexi glass?
Why do you use a combination of buttercream and fondant? Can you do all fondant instead?

You might have better luck with using the fridge instead. Just let it set up a little longer. Like 20 minutes instead of ten in the freezer.
Hi Mary great work. Question I notice while you were icing your cake, the color was more of a deep gray.

Will the icing darken as it sit? The cake is absolutely beautiful.
Thank you;) Yes the color does oxidize over time. Also I wipe off the cornstarch with shortening or water and that deepens it up.
I just realized you might be asking about the buttercream. That was purely the oxidation;)
Hi.... thank u
What do you use to attach your bottom tier to the mdf (base) board?
Typically I just use rolled up packing tape. There is always a cake board under each tier so it is food safe. If it is a foam cake dummy, I use hot glue;)
👌👌👍🇲🇦🇲🇦
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Beautiful cakes.😍Could this work on whip cream icing?
I honestly wouldn't use it:( It does not have the stability needed for this design. So sorry:(
