I love this. And miss 😢this simplicity
I remember when more people believed in the US Constitution and stood up for civil liberties. Rallies for freedom and our rights. When freedom meant something more than a slogan.
When people still knew that our rights didn't come from government and that government was a necessary evil and should always be held in check by the people and checks and balances.
how old are you
Just what the current administration is trying to destroy -- checks and balances.
heavyd777 . now America that has turned into a communist country to Constitution don't mean nothing today America operates under Maritime laws that oppress the people and its so call citizens
@@king4life210 What are you? A sovereign citizen/freeman-on-the-land/etc.? Because only people like those would believe that the U.S. court system operates under maritime laws.
Remembering this just helped me answer the question of when the constitution was established!!
"We the people, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, secure the blessing of liberty to are self's and are posterity do ordain, and establish this Constitution for the United States of America". 8th grade assignment Preamble
On one of my my 9th grade history class tests, 1978, we were told to write out the preamble of the US Constituion. You knew when someone was on that part of the test because you would hear them humming this song. I wish they had done a song for the Gettysburg Address.
RIP George Newall, the 🧠 behind Schoolhouse Rock. He died earlier this week.
I loved this when I was a kid, I could recite the preamble just by remembering this song.
Does anyone else get a little choked up by this?
Yes I am choked up and grateful to have lived through the Greatest Era of our Country.
Christ well that says à lot
Oh yeah.
yes, I do ,too...brings back such happy, carefree childhood memories...agree that I learned more from this that most kids learn in school today
yeahhh even at the part where they cut down all the trees and replace them with houses
I heard this song ONCE during my 4th grade history class and still sing it to this day (im 29 now). The one thing I always get out of this experience is: I'll never understand why my brain choose to engrave this in my memory. I thought I dreamt or made this whole thing up because it was such a blur and a onetime moment until I finally looked it up and lo and behold....it's real. Any neuroscientist or psychologist here feel free to give your interpretation why brains just love holding on to catchy phrases/songs cuz it's beyond me..
american exceptionalism at its finest wish it worked this well
Happy 50th Anniversary to Schoolhouse Rock 🥌 Blessings and Hugs 💖💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕!
great to watch while high thanks teacher
I was Blessed as a child to learn these songs while being educated! This was on early on Saturday morning I wish they could continue these instead of some really horrible cartoons... 😎❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Bless my 5th grade history teacher that made us learn this backwards and forwards. My 8th grade History final is in 25 minutes, so thank you.
2:00 there were two Indiana signs and I'm truly amazed considering Indiana is the least used state in movies, or entertainment. I'm from indiana lol
We had to memorize the preamble in 7th grade. After the first two or three students came up and sang this version, she asked us why we were singing. We told her about the video and then my WHOLE 7th grade class sang this for our teacher. We all got As!
I had a test 2 and this extremely helped and I aced it. It was so easy
Have the dvd
Is cool to still watch
Cool songs and learned a lot
We need to bring these back
Wonderful Saturday mornings as a child.
I clearly remember watching this as a child.
These great little cartoons would air in between
the various regular cartoon shows we were watching.
Several of these School House Rocks shows influenced
my childhood understanding of the government and how to
speak English.
I love the moment at 2:35. where it shows modern people voting. But the little girl gets pulled away by her mother since the girl is too young to vote.
Right on! Always loved that part as a child...
WOW 😲 I learned more with this than History class.
Stop the cap 🧢
How do you learn anything from this? The preamble doesn't really say anything substantial.
Been stuck in my head since I graduated 3-4 years ago love this song
I remember this song from the 70's...long before America was run by Satanists
Not as emotionally moving as "No More Kings." That one still gets me.
If you wanna comment something like this then comment it on No More kings 😂
Arguably, *this* should be our national anthem. Either this or "We are the Champions".
The preamble was extra credit on a history test and I got a great grade by singing this in my head as I wrote it out. Good times.🐱
;et's all try and remember Our Constitution together Recap..Beautiful...
Liz Cheney
@Liz_Cheney sent me and AOC here! They need to bring these back so that the youth of today understand our country and our history!
Charles Farley Mike Huckabee has put out a wonderful new set of DVDs animated and teaches kids how our country was formed and how God influenced our forefathers.
nice and loud sounds fantastic!! 🙂 Thanks, l love this stuff, from a long way back.
So many politicians need to listen to this song
Lynn Ahrens wrote the song "The Preamble" from the 1975 Schoolhouse Rock! episode of the same name. The song explains how the Constitution was created, and includes humorous images.
I am 25 and I use to have to listen to these in my 5th grade social studies class!!
I’m in 5th grade and my teacher played this today
me too
are you at my school?
