This man is living history. Respect.
To be fortunate enough to hear my Elder bestow this historic account fills me with such pride and the utmost respect for Our Elders without them we surely would never had been!
i hope one day this country's history really comes out
I'm full Lakota sioux. Also a grass and traditonal dancer anf proud of it
So much injustice in the world, peace and love is what we need NOT GREED AND POWER........
Such injustice has been done - and is being done still - to these beautiful people. God bless you all.
have great admiration for these wonderful people we could of learnt so much from them.
Wow.. Looking at his face was like a glimpse into the past.. You just don't see faces like that anymore. He's beautiful.
You can see the honesty in his eyes and hear it in his voice. The Lakota have retained that part of their cultural ethos. They learned about lying from the Wasichu. Totanka Yotanka
was along with Crazy Horse, Gall, Crow King, American Horse
Rain-In-The-Face etc. a member of the Non Treaty Sioux whom
were forced into a war by the Grant Administration when they
were on their Unceded Tribal ground when they were attacked
by the US Army in violation of the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868.
I AM FROM THE GREAT MOUNTAINS OF SOUTHERN ALBERTA CANADA WHERE THERE ARE SO MANY OF SIOUX INDIANS WHO LIVE HERE FOR OVER 100 YEARS NOW AND WE ARRIVE AROUND THE SAME TIME AS WHEN SITTING BULL CAME TO CANADA AFTER DEFEATING CUSTER. SO THE ELDERS IN MY RESERVE SAY WE CAME WITH HIM AND AFTER HE WENT BACK HALF OF SITTING BULLS TRIBE STAYED AND VENTURED FURTHER INTO CANADA. BUT WE ARE NOT CALLED LAKOTAS..WE ARE THE NAKODAS BUT WE STILL SPEAK THE SAME LANGUAGE AS THE LAKOTAS.
Yes, this is also why the Apaches were finally captured/taken down. They were the last standing fighting Indians who hadn't been encamped. They were amazing fighters. The ONLY way they were FINALLY taken, was because of the govt use of other Apache scouts. They knew the secrets to the area and why/how the Apaches were always able to have the upper hand and stay ahead. So it was their own who were their downfall. Maybe it was envy/greed or perhaps simply self preservation? Sad no less.
You deserve an applause for recognizing and saying that!!!! KUDOS to you!!
Sitting Bull was a great warrior and hero to all native tribes .U must feel proud and honoured to have his blood running around in your veins
I have seen some pictures of tatanka iyotake but yes there is something like him in this man`s face!Vote him fore president!!
What captivated me when I first saw a photo of the great man was his bright eyes. It's amazing how his great grandson has them too...
Having watched 'Bury my heart at wounded knee' with great interest - I can't help feeling the casting of Sitting Bull was 'Spot on' when looking at his grandson face to face - the resemblance is very close
Sitting Bull was not an American, and moght have been offended to hear himself referred to as such. He was a citizen of the Hunkpapa Lakota Nation. American citizenship was not extended to Indian people until 1924.
Love this. Thank you for posting
I am honored greatly to Have Sitting Bull as my spiritual guide.
Yes, he is the Great Apostle Sitting Bull's Great Grandson.
Must learn more and teach my children.
Sitting Bull gave the money he.made with William Cody to his people.
Through my eyes, he is one in few, who is of a spiritual nature. He is the descended of a spiritual human beings...
thank Great Spirit for reelcontact A'ho
Thank you for this story.
Congratulations. I'm a white man and I love the history about the american natives. I think you need to be proud of this, kind regards, Ulysses.
Thank you for sharing your story! :)
Thank you for the upload. Love to listen. Wish it was in Lakotah with subtitles.
the American Indian are the true AMERICANS
That's what I say!
I can see Sitting Bull is his face
Amazing just amazing. I can't get enough of the Lakota or other tribe's people telling the story as they see it and saw it. It makes me so ashamed that we used a spy against a man who was trying to keep his own people from harming themselves with this desperate fanaticism.
I am so glad that native tribal people are still here. I will not let them be abused further if I can. They are part of me. I love their music I want to hear more. I'm a rock musician. I think I understand their spirit.
I am proud to have Ojibway and Cree blood from my grandmother.
Ernie here, he's the real deal. A true Lakhota and a true gentleman. I had the pleasure of getting to know this wise, warm, brilliant elder and I cannot wait to see him again when I head west for a visit! =D

Mitakoye Oyasin, Ernie! Hokahey!
Wow so Ernie looks like his greatgrand father as they where twins beautyfull to see that Sitting Bull's line is stil here.
So sad to see what all these whites have done sickening.
This is a very sad account that Sitting Bull's Great Grandson gives... I can't imagine a worse fate. It's very sad that the great Sitting Bull was betrayed by one of his own people...
He looks like my grandpa
I support Sitting Bull's and his family's rigths must be returned by US Government..
Hey Out There . . . From I was a child I been thinking abaut what has happent to all the Great Folk you come from . . . Today I hear your story . . . I dont know why but I feel much love for you and I want you to know that . . . Love from Danmark . . .
Your grand mother was very smart lady. I wish you peace and blessings.
Very interesting interview. Thank you for sharing. You can certainly see the family resemblence between Sitting Bull and his Great Grandson Ernie LaPointe. I have long had an interest in the stories of the Native American people and recently put a song I wrote on You Tube. Wounded Knee by Keith Beasley. It is my "small tribute" to all Native Americans. Thank you again. Peace.
Thank you.
Sitting bull was one of the great man we not see man like him again
Lots of Native people died because of traders. We're proud to be Cherokee.
This people are the original owner of this land same as my ancestors the aztecs in Mexico
I have trouble hearing this -even with volume full high level.
Is discusting how these ppl of peace were treated.
Good clip.
Yes, the sad fact of history is that big struggles are usually won by those who can get spies into their enemy's camp.
sit and listen... all you ever had to do until your days come.
Thank you for this video. I hope to see more. 5*****
THANK YOU ERNIE LaPOINTE..YOUR METIS BROTHER HARVEY GREY WOLF

I Really Like The Video Ernie LaPointe, Sitting Bull's lineal great grandson, tells his great grandfather's oral history From Your
im not making this up but sitting bull was in my family history somehow through my grandpa,
Wind Talkers WWII. They talked in their native language and the Germans etc could not translate. This helped to win the world.
I AGREE!!!
@hillybilly1212 I think it was Sitting Bull who went to Canada before he surrendered to the U.S.
Indians of all nations will be here long after everyone else is gone
I so agree with you winlinuser.
Thanks
thats realy cool hamsterman ur the decendant of a great warrior and chief im just a part of William wallace we are from the same country lol hahah pleasure to meet you from Evelyn
Respect.
It's difficult to hear this. Is it my computer or the film?
It was hard to hear him during the background music playing. But what I could hear jibs with other things I have read and heard. The people who know how to manipulate others, lie and cheat will win mostly because they can do these things without any remorse. But eventually they will think they have buffalo'd everyone and will get taken down.....
@visionfirst1970 How do u predict that?
very awesome !
We need to bring back the real customs. The sweat lodges, sundances, all of it. Tribal leaders make and enforce the rules and help keep the tourists at bay. Old wounds need be closed.
Proud to be 1/2 Chickasaw.
Thanks lakota66...will definetly read it!!!
Wow! All I can say is I'm glad my background is Hawaiian...my people were busy climbing trees for coconuts. I would be ashamed to feel like my ancestors persecuted these people.
one bull was jealous of Sitting Bull and a big RAT.
