I love how Mr. Anurag Kashyap appreciates all kinds of cinema from a variety of directors. He is a director who revived the hindi cinema with his brilliant films. I wish to meet him one day and have a long talk about movies in his DVD library.
We share the same dream. BTW check out all the directors that I'm gonna mention below. BTW... Is there any chance that we'll work on a movie together?

@@Kieslowski1989 Saw some of your other comments. You've listed Stalker in your top 3. Absolute gem of a movie by Tarkovsky. I'd absolutely cherish the opportunity to work with another person who isn't only about mainstream cinema but really likes to indulge in the art of filmmaking with proper emphasis on writing, cinematography and exploration of various genres, themes & emotions.
Here's a glimpse into my top 10(incomplete and not in order):
1. There Will Be Blood(period drama)
2. Barry Lyndon(period drama)
3. Seven Samurai(period epic)
4. Memories of Murder(crime thriller)
5. Chinatown(neo-noir)
6. Blade Runner(sci-fi thriller)
7. The Lighthouse(psychological thriller)
What are the last five movies that you've watched which you thought were good?
Here are mine:
Pulse(Japanese horror)
The Wailing(South Korean horror)
Gattaca(sci fi)
Straight Outta Compton(biographical)
Ponniyin Selvan(historical epic)
@@debiduttapradhan9260 I haven't watched Barry Lyndon yet... I am not able to find it anywhere.
The last 5 movies that I watched and adored... Umm... In a particular order
5) Meghe Dhaka Tara
4) A Brighter Summer Day
3) Samsara
2) Sans Soleil
1) Dekalog
BTW... Can you name your favourite Filmmakers (can you arrange them in any order?) I feel that I can get a knack of your technical likenesses by that.
My favourite Filmmakers
1) Abbas Kiarostami
2) Andrei Tarkovsky
3) Jean-Luc Godard
4) Federico Fellini
5) Martin Scorsese
6) Satyajit Ray
7) Akira Kurosawa
8) Ingmar Bergman
9) Krzysztof Kieslowski
10) François Truffaut
Sadly, many favourite Filmmakers of mine are not in top 10 like Francis Ford Coppola, Alfred Hitchcock, Edward Yang, Wong Kar Wai, Rainer Werner Fassbinder.
BTW... Just saw you have Lighthouse in your top 10... Absolutely loved Lighthouse. One of the best minimalistic movies of recent years. BTW... You should check out works of Chris Marker and Ron Fricke. They direct documentaries.
@@Kieslowski1989 Sure. Here are some of the filmmakers whose works I absolutely adore(Not in order, except Stanley Kubrick. For me he's and always will be numero uno.):
1. Stanley Kubrick
Before researching him, I was just your regular movie buff who had a knack for photography. Then when I found out that he also started out as an photographer, I started to watch every one of his films that I could get my hands on and boy everyone one of them is a cinematic masterpiece. I have yet to read about his creative process for which I've ordered a book. Stanley Kubrick - A Life In Pictures. Also I haven't watched his Fear & Desire, Killer's Kiss, Lolita & Paths of Glory.
2. Orson Welles
3. Paul Thomas Anderson
4. The Coen Brothers
5. Akira Kurosawa
6. Bong Joon-Ho
7. Hayao Miyazaki(I love anime films and series too)
8. Elia Kazan(On The Waterfront & A Streetcar Named Desire are absolutely devastating. Marlon Brando just had it all. Good looks and masterclass acting abilities.)
9. Alfonso Cuaron
10. Ridley Scott(a visionary in true sense of the word)
I've yet to watch the works of French and Italian filmmakers. Their works are hard to come by. Where did you find them?
@@Kieslowski1989 I assume you've seen A Brighter Summer Day.
Probably d best thing seen by me on you tube for a long long time...

😃
Taking good care is also an option
This man literally breathes movies
When I watched Battles Without Honor or Humanity, I knew Kinji Fukasaku had a great influence on Tarantino.
Battle Royale is among Tarantino’s favorite films.
@@krishshautriya5170 It's truly a masterpiece.
