I don't care how old he is in the clips, Dean's voice, humor, and talent in every area is better than most present singers and thespians these days. Even when he was in his seventies, his voice was still beautiful, and, he could do anything as well or better than most in the business that could only do one thing well. Dean was the best, and no one could ever be like him again. RIP Dino.
I listen to Dean more now than ever. He was the coolest of those cool cats in an era thats sadly gone by. I don't know who wrote this tune but Dean pulled it off magnificently, with his friends setting him up so well. And Reagan was so charming in his reception of it. And I must admit in all honesty I have memorized every word of this UA-cam video.
Frank, Dean & Ronnie. The end of an era when entertainment and our country was better than ever. It just hasn't been the same since they're gone. That was class!
Dean was so damn cool . Who else could sit next to Sinatra , goof with Burt Reynolds and the Pres of the United States in a room full of stars ? Dino ..that's who . What an incredible talent .
He is so humorous. Dean Martin always made me smile as I watched him on his weekly TV shows! I will always remember his voice, his radiant personality.
How Cool was Mr Martin? How many people could be introduced by The chairman of the Board and NOT be intimidated?...and then be so relaxed when chatting to Burt Reynolds and The President of the United States. He was so in control and yet on top of his game too. He knew how to sing.and the humour was also pitch perfect.A totally gracious...class act.Thank-you!
Linda Shelley , I don’t think so Linda. I read Jerry Lewis’ book about him and Dean and he talked about how they were big fans of Frank. Dean filled in for Frank once when he was sick and couldn’t do a show. It was after Dean & Jerry started getting famous that Frank got to know Dean.
Just excellent and I loved seeing that clip. Even at the tail end of his career when that video was taken, he still could run circles around what the entertainment media says are stars of today. RIP Dean and it's sad to realise that we will never see the likes of someone like you again.
I had the privilege to see Dean in Las Vegas in 1976 the week that him and Jerry got back together after 20 years , I set close to the stage enough to touch his leg,he was so marvelous!🤗💖💋
Hello, thanks for sharing this vudeo!!! I love Dean Martin, and his lovely wife, Jeannie, his true Love. Here we are, 2022, still watch him, love everything He does. The tragedy of his loss, Deano, his son in 87 plane destroyed Him. His precious True love, Jeannie Was with him, to Hold and love him Again forever. That was LOVE 🙏 RIP to the family Crash,
Without any exageration Dean was the most Coolest Cat that ever walked this Planet...Class / Charissma / Style / Handsome Man / Funny / Super Smooth Voice....Some package go find another. you won't. Dean your so missed my Friend, a true Icon....
This is amazing Frank, Dean Pres. Reagan and etc these times will never be here again ever the country was great in the 1980s and people still had class and respect not like this anymore !!!!!
Chris Lythgoe More to the point, just two short years after this performance Dean lost his much-loved son Dean Paul, which was really the beginning of the end of the end for him... RIP to both of them (and to Jeannie, Claudia and Ricci, who have all now also passed on.)
Those were the days when talent, overshadowed politics and we had a Great Country. Now we finally have a Great President again..but he is overshadowed by fools like NBC....
I agree - we will never see the likes of entertainers like these again - the quality of life is deteriorating every week on reality tv ! Thank god for youtube.
dinobuick 30 years later and times have gotten so bad, you just wouldn’t see a Hollywood singer of today singing to our president. Entertainers back then had CLASS!!!!
Dean Martin was 63 when Reagan became President, Madonna is 60, so your right, he is an older singer, than someone today, at least by 3 years. Whoopi Goldberg is about 63. Robert De Niro is 75. And the rat pack supported a (dem) President Kennedy 20 years before Reagan. I guess good entertainment isn’t blinded by politics.
Very cute segment. Dean had presumably just completed the Cannonball Run movie with Hal Needham directing and Burt Reynolds starring. His health started to deteriorate rapidly after the untimely death of his son Dino in 1986. There really was, of course, a close relationship with Sinatra, emanating from the early 50s. Sinatra was instrumental in casting Martin in a signature role as the gambler Bama in Minnelli's "Some Came Running" in 58, which should have garnered an Oscar nomination for him.
MrImiller07 couldn't agree more with you. I also think Dean's performance in "Some Came Running" was superb, one of his best, as Shirley MacLaine would put it.
Dean and Frank will never be duplicated it was there time. They were born into this world and they followed there dream and found the Gold Pot at the end of the Rainbow and shared it with the World. Frank,Dean thanks for the memories , may you Rest in Peace. Ed Verdugo Montebello,CA.
Roger Lotz Elvis went with Dean Martin to Dean's house and met Dean's kids. Elvis told the kids, "I may be the king of rock and roll, but your Dad is the king of cool."
I love this video so much, thanks for sharing. If you think about it, Dean is really the most famous guy in the room, so he had no reason to be nervous. WOW, any of the other actors were probably dying to get to meet him. I would have. What a great video, and thanks for posting it. LOVE IT.
kklimpert , You’re right. I’ve read the two books by his kids about him. He really wasn’t impressed with big stars. He knew them all but preferred to be on the golf course.
To me, Dean's voice was the better compared to Sinatra...I loved his beautiful vibrato that was so smooth....excellent singer and funny too, loved him in Rio Bravo with The Duke, Walter Brennan and Ricky Nelson.
Frank is way too loud for me compared to martin lol .. I mean Dean could sing me a menu and it'd still feel so cozy so relaxing that it'd put me to sleep .
@James Henderson Yea, yea, yea - I know. I’m sure he was a racist, homophobic, xenophobe, Islamophobic, misogynist, child molesting, bank robbing, mass murderer too. I don’t recall asking anyone’s permission here to express my personal opinion. Neither do I recall asking to engage in a debate over something so subjective as one’s personal prespective.
Oh the music nowadays just ticks me off ! I get so dang tired of cussing and autotune . Humor was better just things were so much more enjoyable. I was born in the wrong era.
Everyboby loved Dean you can tell by the way Franks wife looked at him at .14 sec. But everybody loved Dean What a great guy that could do it all !!!!!!
I enjoyed watching the people expressions. Nancy genuinely laughed at Dean's jokes, President Reagan appeared slightly shy and humbled at the attention toward the end of the song. And Maureen's respect and love for her dad showed in her smile as she raised her glass.
I once heard some fuzzy audio of Dean talking about his piano player and said, “you’re the only guy who can sit on television and play with his upright organ” LOL
When entertainers were entertaining.
And no nakedness, or vulgarity. Pure talent.
They don´t make them like that anymore, pure class.
I don't care how old he is in the clips, Dean's voice, humor, and talent in every area is better than most present singers and thespians these days. yup he had such a wonderful relaxed singing voice. it's like creating a canvas with that andthen when he'd do a call out it had so much power.
love what you said mr king of cool was the best

Better than ALL present singers and, ah, just a sec, I have to look up that other word...
I listen to Dean more now than ever. He was the coolest of those cool cats in an era thats sadly gone by. lol totally
I also listen to Dean more and more these days. I really miss him.
Everybody loved Dean! and Dean loved Everybody. He was the best of all time!!!
@James Henderson You're an asshole. What an awful thing to write! Idiot conspiracy theorist!!
Frank, Dean & Ronnie. The end of an era when entertainment and our country was better than ever. It just hasn't been the same since they're gone. That was class!
Dean had style, charm and charisma at any age. Even here when apparently he's quite old, he's got it all 💗
Special time in human history.
God bless their souls.
Dean was so damn cool . Who else could sit next to Sinatra , goof with Burt Reynolds and the Pres of the United States in a room full of stars ? Dino ..that's who . What an incredible talent .
King of Cool.
Gotta laugh, swoon and cry. This is wonderful! He died 3 months after I was born. God Bless him 🙏 ❤️!
He is so humorous. Dean Martin always made me smile as I watched him on his weekly TV shows! I will always remember his voice, his radiant personality.
Jackie Mcmeekin , Me too. Always watched his movies and tv shows, specials etc.
Probably my favourite entertainer. Now my daughter loves him too.
What a sweet, wonderful, and heartfelt tribute. Dean was actually a very emotional person.
How Cool was Mr Martin? How many people could be introduced by The chairman of the Board and NOT be intimidated?...and then be so relaxed when chatting to Burt Reynolds and The President of the United States. silverbulletuk1 Don't forget that he and Frank were lifelong friends. They first knew each other in the 1940s, even before Dean met Jerry Lewis.
Frank wasn't the chairman of shit to dean. Dean did as he WANTED to do he needed no ones permission 😎😎
I was a child when he had his TV show. But at 6 fell in love with Dean. Talent for singing and comedy is irresistible even now.
Me too! I have loved Dean since I was a kid in the 1960's.
Just excellent and I loved seeing that clip. Even at the tail end of his career when that video was taken, he still could run circles around what the entertainment media says are stars of today. RIP Dean and it's sad to realise that we will never see the likes of someone like you again.
An awesome force even at the setting of his sun. He left them laughing and loving him. Grazie Dino.
Our beloved Deano ....a time like no other. Our world had joy then. Frank, Sammy....oh what a time it was!
Dino not Deano
Darn Autocorrect... I typed Dino. Either way I love him. 😊
What absolute magic! Dean was sublime.
We never got to see this in Australia. I love You Tube. I could sit and watch Dino for ever. He turely is Mr. Wonderful. R.I.P
So much classier and elegant than anything going on today. I miss the more polite society.
I had the privilege to see Dean in Las Vegas in 1976 the week that him and Jerry got back together after 20 years , I set close to the stage enough to touch his leg,he was so marvelous!🤗💖💋
Wish we had more people like Dean and Frank in this world!!!
