Great explore Tracy, that place was massive and pretty sketchy. Those holes in the floor probably didn't help much! That looked like a pretty good fall.
Hey Tracy! I know a bit about the abandoned offices as my Grandmother used to work there back in the 1960s. She always referred to it as the DEP (the department of employment) and she told me that it used to be government offices where they sorted out pensions and insurance etc. They used to have giant rooms with these big computers in them that stored files for the government etc. I know that my Nan used to work in a room on computers inputting stuff to do with pensions, but apparently there were loads of different sections within the building to do with different stuff. I also know that it wasnt just local stuff that they dealt with, it was stuff from all over the UK. But now there is plans go turn them into apartments and i dont know much more haha
Hallie Jones wow how interesting:) I couldn't find anything on these offices, thanks for sharing this had no idea what they were used for. Great bit of information 👍🏼
I admit, cool video, but it's not really a "find". It's a gargantuan building right next to the biggest shopping district in the entire town. Pretty much every "Too cool for school hip and trendy" Teen has gone to this place to prove a point.
I worked here on security from 95 - 2001. It was a great place to have worked back in the day. Shame to see it in such a demolished state. The place is full of asbestos, main source is the ceiling tiled. The large room with the raised flooring was the mainframe location, reason being for all the keypads and black box packs on the wall. Shame you never covered the ground floor or the plant room, you were so close. Good watching this, brought back some great memories of my time working there.
That was such a cool place Tracy, and it makes sense how you fell now haha! You should've put the firemen pictures at the end to prove it haha, they were brilliant
I can understand how you got lost in there, it's like a huge maze. I can't believe you explored that building on your own, it looks like the kind of place where right dodgy scumbags hang out! ...And that fire hose at the end.... You are soooo nuts ha ha
upalevel productions haha yes I'm bonkers I didn't even think about any weirdos being in there, this is why no one will explore with me I'm a death trap haha 😂
Sad to see such awesome places falling apart. Bet it was really nice back in the day. Great video Tracy hope you're doing alright that looked like a long drop!
My heart was in my mouth when you said there was someone in there!!! I can't believe the size of this place. Did you find out why the walls were wet? I hope you are ok having to employ SUPERWOMAN tactics to exit the place:)) You're one hell of a lady. Su x
That One Nature Song haha thanks su yes I was quite scared when I heard them noises to find out later there's druggies in there I probably shouldn't of gone alone 😳 I didn't find out why the floors were wet. x
Awesome explore! Glad your okay!(: that place was like a giant maze! I can't believe you went alone!! Incredible video as always! That looked like a long drop at the end ! Sheesh!!! Hope all is well👍
I guess you didn't use the compass method or even Google or Apple maps and zoom in to the site. You can drop pins especially with that large of a site. You can even place objects or make a mark on the wall or floor to mark your path. I've done it at factory sites. I do hope you are on the mend and feeling better.
Try the iPhone idea; satellite view is really good and set a pin where you walk in or if you just use the normal view that works. Compass direction even. A piece of fluorescent tape on the door jam... wall or floor is great too. (I like fuchsia/bright pink myself more than bright lime green. They are both not colors you will normally see in an abandoned place even when it is trashed. Door jams you enter/exit are a great spot at eye level.) Food especially if there are rats in the place... well you know the outcome there. These are just suggestions that I find work, no more, no less. I just don't want to see you get hurt again or even worse.
Great Explore Tracy, it sure is like a maze there maybe you could get a gps unit and then you can waypoint your start position back to starting point, I do this when I'm Geocaching! - Hope your ok thou my dear xxx
I worked in there for a year or so back in the late 1970s, and I was forever getting lost. It all looked the same wherever you went. It had a good social club though and a dead cheap bar. The DEP (Department of Employment). They would have torn the place down years ago and built houses on the site if it wasn't for all the asbestos in the building. With the Health & Safety, they are shit-scared to even try to convert it into apartments. I'm new to watching Urbex videos on you tube, and I'm finding them very interesting. Yours are really cool.
That was some smooth quick thinking there! too bad everything had to be soaked at the time Dx but it was still bad*ss lol I hope everything's good now, I'm glad you weren't seriously injured! and I'm glad whoever the heck was in the building with you didn't find you yikes
Another great video Tracy, always amazes me just how many empty buildings you come across.. You don't see any around here, but if there was any then squatters would move in on them straight away, and it takes forever to get them out, thanks for the share my friend... Carl
awesome video Tracy very creepy that you probably werent alone in there . would have loved to see you absile down that hose hahaha i wouldnt have climbeed that respect :)
Wow, what an adventure Tracy! As to the moisture, it might be condensation from the temperature change from the outside air warming faster than inside the building, like inside a tent. I would imagine a lot of the damage comes from people ripping out copper wiring to sell, but some of it is just nonsense and madness. So glad you were not injured too badly! Hope you always let someone know where you are exploring and when you plan to return, just in case. Be safe, we need our explorer! Sincerely, Ossie
Ossie Weinert thanks Ossie :) I do let people know where I'm going, I don't think I'd go somewhere this big on my own again it was so dark inside, it's was wet everywhere just the walls though, thanks for watching :)
Place is massive, people get lost when there is lights and actual signs. Now, I can imagine without any of that. Yes, someone was in around there, you did what you had to do. And yes, you were injured but it could have been much worse if you would have confronted some unknown person
Cool! I live over in Palace fields (like 2 minutes from there) and have always wondered what the inside of that building was like. Unfortunately I dont think its ever going to be flats, from what I remember the place is filled with asbestos and there have been multiple buyers, all of whom have auctioned it off again because of the cost it would be to get the place up to code. Kudo's for your exploring.
halochick08 thanks and this place is a death trap I regret going here it’s the worst place I’ve ever explored purely for danger and for being terrified ha ha cheers for watching and commenting
😱 I don't see how you do it. You have got to be one of the bravest souls. Just moved to Norway and have seen a few old abandoned places and walked around them but no nerve to go in. 🐣 big chicken lol Glad you are safe and sound with no serious injuries. Take care young lady. ❤
"The one I fell" lol when I first saw this that was my exact thought (is this the one?) lol One way in and one way out :o Place looks beyond huge. Glad you are okay! I kinda wanted to see the footage of the fall... o.o To see your after reaction :o and exactly to see what happened in hopes of not doing it when I go exploring.
Expl0re Life haha I was gonna film the fall but I had nowhere to put the camera, it was huge in there and so dark, the paramedics said communities live in there so lucky I didn't see anyone.
Tracy you have nerves of steel!! And you definitely think on your feet, so glad you are okay. Maybe next time take someone with you or invest in a nice can of Safehaus for backup! Stay safe!
hey Tracy girl it's me the georgie i have to say i have known a few lasses named Tracy nane of them give a rat's you will do4 me great stuff keep safe out there luv from Newcastle upon Tyne one more thing hope you are okay no bad injuries i look forward to watch the next investigation x
The second time you mentioned someone definitely being there, when you paused, I thought I heard rapid footfalls (going down stairs?) in the distance. Scary; but they were probably just as worried after hearing that they were not alone (you), and running away! Honestly, I would've absolutely wilted at the hose abseiling prospect! How high was that?
you are one Brave little lady you are one brave Little lady that some creepy office space especially in the dark like that. keep up the awesome work love what you do.
awesome tracey... i know exactly where that is, its byt the shopping city, or halton LA with the asda on the opposite side...... ive always wondered what it looked like inside, ive lived in runcorn for 22 years, as far as i knew they was some kind of council offices...... hope you recovered quickly after ur fall
OMG, Sounds like a pretty bad fall You must have had to be hurt. #Tracy, I called You a Courageous 'Warrior' not a Fae with wings, lol.. I'm sure You're more careful now... Yet, it didn't look that bad from the outside 'til You got in, thou'... That was a ways up on the roof to the ground & that tree didn't look like it had that many branches or leaves to slow down Your fall.. I hope by now You're mostly healed n' doing much better.. Sending Blessings to help with future adventures. c:
Betty Luckey thanks Betty I'm better now, I just didn't want to go back in the building there was someone else in there and it was dark so had come off the roof, that tree probably saved me from a few broken limbs haha
Tracy you need a side kick, when u do trips with norton and his lot use are all really funny. I like the explores and the info but some conversation and a laugh brings something else to the vids
I live right by this and every time I've been past when people are in there , a loud tannoy thing starts shouting to leave cause the police are on their way and stuff about asbestos health warnings :/
Bet you won’t answer me but it the walls and floors are wet cause kids set the place on fire and they needed to hose it down I’ve always wondered what was in the place
me and a friend went to day and went in at 4 ish we was on the bottom floor for a bit just having a look making a video and we a saw a car parked in the outside but on the grounds we didn't see anyone in it but 5 minutes later my friend saw a guy we ran out the window the way we got in but he followed us and stop us he didn't have a go he was nice about it he just said don't go in cus of safety we said that we just wanted to explore the place he said we can't go in he also said that people are always they like security so i was just wondering if that is true cus i would love to go back and have a good look at the place. (he said it had been like that for 15yrs)
Great explore Tracy, that place was massive and pretty sketchy. Those holes in the floor probably didn't help much! That looked like a pretty good fall.
Explore With Us thank you, yes was a sketchy place for sure

Place is massive, people get lost when there is lights and actual signs. Now, I can imagine without any of that. Yes, someone was in around there, you did what you had to do. And yes, you were injured but it could have been much worse if you would have confronted some unknown person
SoCal Urbex you impressed with my exit haha I know you probably would of glided down that hose with your military background I was hopeless.

Tracy Explores lesson learned then

Such a big place. I wonder how long it's been abandoned for.
Been in here before multiple times!. At night as eerie place an only way in or out was a small gap in a window
I live right by this and every time I've been past when people are in there , a loud tannoy thing starts shouting to leave cause the police are on their way and stuff about asbestos health warnings :/
Halo Rose I wish I hadn't gone in it was creepy and horrible
please try to be careful if your out alone great video though
Looks like a maze :-)
Giulio Z. It was , was horrible in there's :( so dark and creepy
I live near the city :) and I remember when these things were in use!
Bet you won’t answer me but it the walls and floors are wet cause kids set the place on fire and they needed to hose it down I’ve always wondered what was in the place
lukeyplays it’s horrible inside I’d stay away very dangerous in there
I always wondered what was in that place
BombSplash 2 it's a death trap
great video :)
UrbexLuca ✗ Urban Exploration thank you 😊
u should of shown the fall it would of made big tv haha :)
CJ Urbex I didn't film the fall had nowhere to put the camera
it was department of employment building I worked there in the 70s
All the windows are out now so you can see in there but all the inside walls are gone so I think they’re going to demolish it
where is it?
the JDM car life Runcorn near kfc it’s on east lane road across the road from the shopping centre
me and a friend went to day and went in at 4 ish we was on the bottom floor for a bit just having a look making a video and we a saw a car parked in the outside but on the grounds we didn't see anyone in it but 5 minutes later my friend saw a guy we ran out the window the way we got in but he followed us and stop us he didn't have a go he was nice about it he just said don't go in cus of safety we said that we just wanted to explore the place he said we can't go in he also said that people are always they like security so i was just wondering if that is true cus i would love to go back and have a good look at the place. (he said it had been like that for 15yrs)
