Sums it up that a farmer would protect his tractor bonnet but not his head. It's not so much bits of hedge the window guards protect you from, it is a flail coming off that will kill you. But hey who wants to clean mesh out? Poly will cloud if left forever in the sun, but taken off each season and stored not so much. poly can also be buffed back if it clouds.
Great video Adam, a fair job putting it on by yourself, you can’t beat having a couple of bodies when hooking up machinery, but to be fair you set that up very well
@@Adamhayteamtv might be as safe in the long run .........2 people is fine 99.9% of the time ......... i very nearly lost my hand putting on a rotavator on a tractor a few years back because of the man in the tractor , was not fully concentrating fully ............

😱😱🤦♂️🤦♂️🙈🙈 Good man Adam, you've very nearly rang that first nut. You were losing, it looks like that anyway to me. 😂😂😅😅🤣🤣👏👏👍 Great video aswell. 👏👏👍👍
It’s only hard work when it’s new as it’s not set up for the tractor.. so next time we put it on it will be done in half the time.. 😃thanks for watching
@@Adamhayteamtv only a once a year job .........i find that you always leave it on till you are finished cutting .........i can see the end in sight for me for this year thank god ..........
I for one like your bonnet guard, does the job and once bolted up looks good plus shaped to tractor. Be good to sort a door/window even if it is weld mesh that needs clearing at times, I know a contractor that hit some old barbed wire grown into a hedge , a 2 or 3" long piece of barbed came through the side and straight into an eye. Was not a good outcome.
How often do you attach it? How long it takes to attach it ? Is it a specific position of the flail when drop it off? I prefer the arm along the line with the tractor, not perpendicular.
I've been flailing for years and I aswell as people I know never use guards , I've had self sets as thick as my wrist smash of the bonnet and windows and it's never smashed anything. Each to there own but just makes it look like something out of robot wars 🤔
Smart tidy/handy set up that 👍 I trim with a TM 155 its just a bit long for turning round in narrow lanes. Ever thought of putting a side wiper on? Be ideal on t6 cab. Best thing I ever done! 👍
Don't forget to fold down the lifting eye and bolt it to the pin as it can hit the top panel and dent it when you lift it all the way up cutting high hedges.
how do you find the view with the T6. I currently trim with an 8560 but thinking of changing to a 6080 iv heard the view is not great compared to the 60 series or tm any truth to that
Hi Adam great video , a lot of hedge's needing taming, I'm in the same situation late hay season lost a month of trimming time and still not hitched mine up yet , l,m stuck in office on end of year accounts
Bet ur getting giddy to get out with her. Iv used both xtc control and evolution both have there plus and minus points tbf. When we hook up we raise the cutter side link arm a touch so in theory the cutter side level on the tractor when working
I’ve been out trimming with her already. The 5 ft head makes a real difference.. Yea that’s what I did in the end to level her out abit.. I didn’t say it in the vid as I did it after 😂😂
I do the same, also would change those F14's, never used them myself on a Tuff cut head but have heard a few horror stories from my friends ripping rotor lugs off Multi-cut heads, on the plus side the flail didn't break. I got onto F11's (Competition) they seem to work well if you meet a stone.
Great job Adam one's you done it first time next should be easy I would put the arm on header side up A little to level Don't know about control I still have cable's 😬it's good you can leave on I have to take mine on and off when I can because I need tractor for other work
Hi Adam just noticed might help if you used the right end of the spanner on that first nut Working on sunday hope Justin is paying you overtime haha catch you all soon and you all keep well
@@thehayteamtv6830 wait till you go to put it back on , watch you dont put you back out trying to hold it up and get the pin in , ive a 8560 on axel brackets mcconnel needing a redesign on that leg imo
To be honest I built the bonnet guard with stuff we had lying around on the farm so it didn’t cost us anything. At the end of the day it’s just a guard
Daire O'Reilly it’s in the video you have a nose on top of the A frame and that slots straight into the gap on the top link hole.. put your pin in and raise the trimmer to your height.. then adjust the A frame top link to level the trimmer out..
If we were doing a lot of close hedge work then possibly but I don’t really see the point in a wheel guard. We don’t really get a lot of flailings hit the wheel..
You don't need to explain yourself to anyone. Keep up the great work
Thankyou mate

well I've got hedge cutter envy now!!!!!
agree totaly on the motion controls have it on mine and love it, mcconnel lovely machine to

Great job Adam
Nightmare on your own.
Don't forget where you put the stands 👍
Thankyou mate.. they are somewhere so safe I will forget where, by the end of the season 😂😂

Hi Adam good video nice to see new kit setup next video of it in its workings clothes Wil mid wales
Thank you mate.. next video will be of it working
What’s the Maktia impact gun like ? Looks nice and compact. I’ve got a Milwaukee plenty of power but quite bulky
I’m really quite impressed with it mate.. not the most powerful gun.. but it’s really light and does pack a punch..
Lovely trimmer. I can only fit a Bomford Raven on my jd4720. Just waiting for a dry spell.
Good stuff! Well explained. Deadly job!

Thank you mate.. yea we need to crack on with ours now fingers crossed the weather holds off abit..
Nice video. What size tires are you using front and back and do you use offside weights?
We are using 600s back and 480 front. And no onside weights
Once I put my hedge trimmer on and lifted the hedge trimmer fully up it snapped the casting that holds the top link on
Nick AF 😂😂😂
We thought that about the big joystick but its awesome after you get use to it.
I just like how you feel everything with the smaller joystick.. but to be fair we haven’t tried the big joystick so can’t really comment..
Bradley Rowatt it’s because you have very small hands...

do you mind doing a video on how you set up the three point stabilizers up straight mine like to wiggle about
I’m sure we can at some point
So you guys can do serious vlogs. Good informative vid Adam. Was Justin at church seeing its a sunday. Lol.
Oh yes mate we can be serious sometimes.. Only sometimes tho 😂😂
Yes the odd serious vid now and then. But not all the time.😂😂

Working on sunday hope Justin is paying you overtime haha
catch you all soon and you all keep well
Hi john both sides of the spanner are the wrong size.. I couldn’t be bothered to walk to the workshop.. to get the right size.. 😂
Adam have you got any video from cutters hedge with your new hedge cutters and when will it be uploaded please
Video of it all working will be up within the next couple of weeks
how did you get on pinning the stand up out the road , behind the oil tank ??

Why don’t you get a engine cloth that looks exactly the same as a new Holland bonnet
To be honest I built the bonnet guard with stuff we had lying around on the farm so it didn’t cost us anything. At the end of the day it’s just a guard
What’s the best make of hedge trimmers looking for to go on a jd
We’ve had mcconnels and a orsi all been pretty good!
The shelburn Reynolds looks pretty good to
Can’t you mount it on the front
No you can’t.. it has to be a trimmer made for the front.
What way does it put all the weight on the a frame, maybe I missed it but it’s different to the way farmer p does on his
His trimmer would be totally different to put on compared to ours..
Adam Hay team tv yea, how does yours put all the weight on the frame tho ?
Daire O'Reilly what frame you on about? The actual trimmer A frame?
Adam Hay team tv yea where it goes into the toplink whole on the tractor
Daire O'Reilly it’s in the video you have a nose on top of the A frame and that slots straight into the gap on the top link hole.. put your pin in and raise the trimmer to your height.. then adjust the A frame top link to level the trimmer out..
Have you thought of making guards for the wheel like Andy has for his 6215r
If we were doing a lot of close hedge work then possibly but I don’t really see the point in a wheel guard. We don’t really get a lot of flailings hit the wheel..
Adam Hay team tv I see...thanks for replying and look forward your next vid...👍
Will u show us how the hedge trimmer works
Teo Nocera of course
Your safer than some Adam on you tube times I’ve seen PTO shafts spinning all for a couple of minutes to fix a chain on.
We do try our best for safety... because as we all know. It only takes a sec of not thinking and well could be fatal..
I had a go at hedge trimming once, the hedge was growing back quicker than I was cutting it 😜🤣
😂😂😂
you know that stuff they put on mobile phone screens would thet work on the windows
It would just go cloudy in the end.. because its always out in the elements..
Have you finally worked out that the t stands for telescopic yet 🤔
Wayne 🤣🤣 Adam did say it sarcastically... 😉
Good video Adam 👍🏻
Thankyou mate
Do have just one hedge cutter
Yea we do

Short joystick for a short guy lol

can you still drive a tractor on a provisional license?
No you can’t on the road. Only with someone who has a full licence
