    I too recently bought a high number of Sempervivum for only 99 Cent each 8 plants, and are currently planting these :) to multiply them. Awesome, SIMPLE plants! (I see them for 3,99€ EACH now, so I made a good deal!)
    I picked all the seedlings from them, which go into the HUNDREDS. Some I planted, some are sitting in my room with almost no light & water and still looking awesome!
    Some even turn red, cause of stress, which makes them only more beautiful imo.
    Glad to see I'm not the only one crazy for these !!! :) good vid

    These are beautiful and fun to play with. I replaced part of our front lawn with sedums and sempervivums dotted with dogwood trees. I call it my "sedum patch"

    I like your waist level raised bed. It is so nice to stand and work on plants (especially weeding). I plan on building some similar ones outside. I have a waist level bed in my greenhouse, and it is just so much easier to work on. Thanks for sharing.

      payton tanner thank you! I'm very curious to see which ones survived! Many say they will not make it in a raised bed so this was a big experiment to see what happens :)

      Thank you! I definitely will in the future. The reason why i didn't this time was because the bed was already built at the property we purchased. i just flipped it upside down and added plywood and mesh to the bottom

    I really like the raised bed especially for the semps... I want to do something similar... I was wonder how much direct or full sunlight does yours get through the spring and summer months?

    • @ExpeditionHomestead
      @ExpeditionHomestead  7 років тому

      mine gets full sun after 11am. so average of about 7 - 8hours or direct sunlight :)

    • @ExpeditionHomestead
      @ExpeditionHomestead  7 років тому

      It would be best to have morning sun though to avoid such long durations of lower temperatures from the night :)

    Hi😊love your channel! What kind of soil mix to you use when propagating from leaves? I have a bunch of succulents I'd love to multiply. Thanks n advance😊😊

    • @ExpeditionHomestead
      @ExpeditionHomestead  7 років тому +1

      Hi! :) Sorry for the late response. I can tell you that i have gotten the best results from a 50/50 mix of regular potting soil (without fertilizer) and peat moss! This has worked great for me all around the board from when they are young and even when they are adults. When using this method just make sure that you do not water them too much :) I choose to mist mine daily and then water once every two weeks.

    Lovely raised bed and beautiful plants!
    I have an unrelated question about your music. Are you able to monetize this video with the music in it? Every video I add music to gets demonetized by UA-cam. I appreciate your help!

    • @ExpeditionHomestead
      @ExpeditionHomestead  7 років тому

      Kristy Lee thank you! definitely going to make several more this year. and funny you say that because this video uses copyrighted music that is allowed but the owners monetized it. i have many other videos monetized though, you just need to use copyright free music that allows for use in such circumstances. i use freemusicarchive

    Question: Does it rain much there? If it rains how would you protect them or will they survive if they are rained on?

    • @ExpeditionHomestead
      @ExpeditionHomestead  7 років тому +2

      Brenda Delone oh yes this month it has rained every couple of days. The key is to have good drainage, thats why about 25% of this entire bed is nothing but rock :)

    What type of plant was that on the right hand side of the video in the beginning? I have recently inherited some plants and I have that one and I have no idea what it is. Maybe a cactus of some sort?

    • @ExpeditionHomestead

      Wisconsin Wonder Garden Awesome!! Thank you! Mine is outside right now and light green spots are forming on the leaves, is it getting sun burnt?

    • @ExpeditionHomestead
      @ExpeditionHomestead  7 років тому

      Yes, the Christmas cacti can get burnt pretty easily as they do not require a lot of light, which is why they are often grown indoors :) I would try bringing it in to a well lit location that doesn't get direct light for too long and see how it does from there!

    Wow 32 dollars for all those succulents that is amazing wish I could find them that cheap here in Australia
    Got a question mate what is your soil media made up of
    Thanks Robert

    • @ExpeditionHomestead
      @ExpeditionHomestead  4 роки тому +1

      It was a great deal! If I recall I think this was regular soil from an old gardening bed and then mixed in about 20% volume of those small rocks towards the surface. Not sure what kind of rocks they were

      Growing semps from seed is way way way WAAAAYYY slower than propagating, trust me.
