1995 what a year. I tried to find the internet in 1994 but couldn't find it. I looked in the school computer room (singular). It was early in this season when I found it for the first time this season at a different single and again at the public computer room again. Times were fun then.
This is such a special memory. I think I have a tape of this game somewhere, as well as the Eagles win the next year when Aikman threw a pick in the end zone that was run back for a TD.
My mom was watching this game back in 95. When the Cowboys botched that 4th and 1 the second time, my mom screamed so loud that my dad literally thought she was being attacked or something and run like hell to the living room.
LOL!! I can relate. One of my co-workers who grew up in Cherry Hill was an insufferable Cowboys fan and the last thing I wanted to hear was her busting my chops so I remember screaming my head off when we stopped them the second time.
It was an absolute miracle that the Cowboys never lost again after this. If you know the story of the 1995 Cowboys, you'd know it was defined by three words: drama, drama, drama. Rarely do we ever see talent trump all the controversies, but they somehow did it, and yet even to this day, players from that team can only describe that season's end as a "relief" instead of a satisfaction.
I was at that game and I don't remember ever being that cold in my entire life. It was my last year having season tickets before moving to Florida.I miss the Vet even though it was a dump. The Linc crowd is nothing like those Vet crowds. The old stadium was louder and the energy was completely electric. We beat Detroit in the first round of the playoffs that year after Lomas Brown predicted a blowout victory for the Lions. The opposite happened.
The 95 Cowboys are a testament to high end talent. They weren't coached AT ALL. Switzer was the NFL version of a substitute teacher. Dysfunctional all the way around. And won the Super Bowl because aside from the 49ers, they had hands down the best roster in the NFL. It really is as simple as that. They were built so well, they could lose a great coach and still win a championship. One of the great dynasties of all time, even if it ended prematurely.
Im a cowboys fan, so tell your teams to stop it please lol blue Jersey's jinx sucks lol good news tho, besides the fact that Jesus can save your soul, if you call on him. It looks like Dallas is going to win this year's division title :) but eagles are still on the hunt tho.
Bobby Taylor made two HUGE plays during the last drive of the game. Bobby was worth every penny as there lock down corner against Michael Irvin. He never had a big game against the Eagles with Bobby in the secondary. #FlyEaglesFly 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅
I was at this game at the Vet and there was ice and snow everywhere in the stands that my feet were numb when I tried to stand to leave! I also flew to Dallas the next year to see the Eagles game and I was there when Willis intercepted Aikmen in the endzone and lateraled the ball to Troy Vincent for 104 yard TD near the end of the 4th quarter! I have been lucky enough to have been to two of the greatest Eagles games against the Dallas Cowgirls!
I was at this game as a kid, with a friend of mine. His dad had gotten tickets and couldn’t make it so he let me go in his place. Main thing that sticks out is this being the single coldest I’ve ever been in my entire life. Was freezing ass cold this day.
@@ericradford2142 how long did it last , i can't recall ...i miss pat summerall , he was the best . i read a biography on him and learned he was a severe alcoholic ...i was suprised to hear that .
It’s pretty amazing how in real time when u watch the last play over, that aikman knew Erik Williams gave up the sack. Easy for us to c but for him to know it is pretty impressive.
I mean, Twitter was defending Belichick for going for it on 4th and 2 at his own like 29 against Indy a few years ago. But the narrative was Switzer was an idiot, so you're probably right...social media loves low hanging fruit.
@@manuginobilisbaldspot424 Belichick had already three titles though by that point. So it's probably easier for him to get away with a decision like that among the general public. Switzer hadn't won anything, and it was his first year as an NFL head coach with a Super Bowl roster. He'd be grilled, and compared mercilessly to Jimmy Johnson in the same situation.
@@astrostar49 As much as I wonder why Bellichick chose to go for it on fourth down in his own territory leading the Colts in 2009, the only possible justification was that he didn’t want Peyton Manning to run out the clock while leading the Colts to a winning touchdown. Switzer here had NO reason whatsoever to fear Rodney Peete of all quarterbacks would lead the Eagles down the field for a winning drive.
I remember watching this. I also remember what Dallas did to Favre and company a few weeks later. The Pack just couldn't get past Texas stadium to save their lives. Thanks for the memory! (I think)
One thing missing that really adds to this is Madden, coming back from commercial break tries to explain how the ref signaled for the two minute warning before the snap, only to see the snap happen first and correct himself. Ball don't lie.
So upsetting for us Cowboys Fans. We are so heartbroken that we went on to whip the Eagles in the playoffs and win the Superbowl. But you Eagles fans enjoy your 2 little plays.
John Madden could barely contain himself over that 4th and 1 call. Tied ballgame, in FG range already for Eagles if you don't make it. They get a break with the 2 minute call, but RUN THE SAME PLAY AGAIN.
I was at this game sitting in the 700 level, and there are two things I will never forget: 1. How loud the crowd was when the Eagles stopped the Cowboys the second time on 4th and 1 2. I lost feeling in my feet because the wind chill was EIGHT DEGREES at kickoff! No doubt one of the coldest games I have ever been to, and it was worth it.
Three things I recall from this game (and two of which I enjoyed re-watching here)... 1. Bobby Taylor was magnificent that day, to the point that I sensed that the future cornerback prototype would be taller to combat tall, athletic wideouts. Oops. 2. Aikman going ballistic at Erik Williams (snap count? understanding the step drop? still not sure) at the end, and my old man saying "I'd be damned if I were a lineman that I'd take THAT from a quarterback." Years later, I watched the A Football Life doc on Aikman, and saw that he became a lot more demonstrative and demanding in the Switzer years because Switzer wasn't going to hold people accountable the way Jimmy Johnson had. Upon seeing that, I immediately recalled this end-of-game moment and thought "whatever the hell he did or didn't do, Erik Williams messed the eff up." 3. Studio analyst Jimmy Johnson (this was pre-Dolphins, mind you) somehow holding back a smile in the postgame show on Fox. He was very magnanimous in spite of what he was witnessing and had been through with those same Cowboys players, but he didn't hold back his criticism of the 4th and 1 decision, either. Never rooted for his teams personally, but I gained a new level of respect for him that day.
I was there!!!! Top section end zone behind my boys! With my dad!! I was cocky all game UNTIL 4-1...TWICE!!!! Barely escaped with our lives wearing boys gear.
My dad's friend has his baby's christening during this game and the place where the reception was didn't have a TV- we snuck out to the car and heard Merrill call this live on WYSP- I was 11, good times
It's still crazy that on Dallas' final possession, Aikman twice underthrew Irvin. If he puts the pass where it should have been for the first one, he beats Bobby Taylor for a 60+ yard TD.
For the tape of this game we have the end of the second quarter was missing so the Eagles field before half is missing. We are very sorry about that!
Broncos @ Chiefs 2015 for this Thursday Night Game!!! pleaseeee

LOL! Lifelong Eagles fan. I would have loved your mother! Remember this game vividly
This was on my birthday!! December 10, 1995 one of my best birthday present ever!
Correct
Definitely. Aikman was more the head coach than goofy ass switzer.

Read “Boys Will Be Boys” by Jeff Pearlman
Manu Ginobilis Bald Spot Cowboys were far and away the best team of the 90s hands down.
It looks odd when Eagles chose to wear white jersey on Dec. Maybe it was their tactic to force Cowboys to wear blue jersey....
Sung Mo Hong Redskins also do the same. Blue jersey jinx.
Im a cowboys fan, so tell your teams to stop it please lol blue Jersey's jinx sucks lol good news tho, besides the fact that Jesus can save your soul, if you call on him. It looks like Dallas is going to win this year's division title :) but eagles are still on the hunt tho.
@@tonigather9685 Looks like the cowboys chocked in December like usual lol. Same thing will probably happen this year
The Eagles wore white at home for every game in 1995
The Eagles wore the white jerseys for all home games in 1995
Back when football was football
It was always football. It will always be football
True
Bobby Taylor made two HUGE plays during the last drive of the game. Bobby was worth every penny as there lock down corner against Michael Irvin. He never had a big game against the Eagles with Bobby in the secondary.

Need him now 😄
Troy Boy under threw 88 severely.
Thank you for posting this great games
John Madden. The greatest ever. Rest In Peace Sir
An absolute classic game!!
Let’s see Bills vs Dolphins highlights!
I agree man Jim Kelly vs Dan Marino that is a classic!
I have been lucky enough to have been to two of the greatest Eagles games against the Dallas Cowgirls!
back when I first started watching this smahmouth era!!
One of the only great highlights of the 90's Eagles. They won one playoff game in 1995 and fell apart until new coaching staff in 1999.
I was at this game as a kid, with a friend of mine. His dad had gotten tickets and couldn’t make it so he let me go in his place. Main thing that sticks out is this being the single coldest I’ve ever been in my entire life. Was freezing ass cold this day.
I was 15 watching that game from Arlington TX and I remember hating me some Barry Switzer at that moment.
One of the greatest Eagles regular season games
Debut of NFL on Fox piano version that six years later became the FOX injury music.
Good point !! ...now it's the sad jingle when a player is down and they go to commercial break !! ...lol.
Michael Koszowski it’s more like acting responsibly towards an injured player and a sensitive story.
Yes ..i know ..true.
Michael Koszowski however the debut of the piano version of the NFL on FOX was an opening montage of the Cowboys and Eagles.
@@ericradford2142 how long did it last , i can't recall ...i miss pat summerall , he was the best . i read a biography on him and learned he was a severe alcoholic ...i was suprised to hear that .
Cowboys jerseys were awesome 😎
Was there, great game at the toilet bowl Vet. Damn, can't believe that's 25yrs ago...I'm old:(
Also, great to hear Madden/Summerall once again.
It’s pretty amazing how in real time when u watch the last play over, that aikman knew Erik Williams gave up the sack. Easy for us to c but for him to know it is pretty impressive.
This was 90’s as it gets people! Uniforms were fire 🔥
Such a joy to hear summerall and Madden doing the play calls
Please post the 96' game in Dallas between these two teams. The Birds won 31-21. I would appreciate it!
I love them uniforms Dallas Cowboys are wearing.
Not me, they were UGLY ! 😂
I remember being so pumped for this game when I was 14 and was so upset to lose this game. Burned into my memory.
We won the rubber match a month later ( a 30-11 drubbing that wasn't even that close) and won the SB.
Twitter would explode if a coach did what Switzer did today. Can you imagine?
@@astrostar49 it was switzer’s second season actually
@@vadimzdonutube oh yeah forgot
@@astrostar49 As much as I wonder why Bellichick chose to go for it on fourth down in his own territory leading the Colts in 2009, the only possible justification was that he didn’t want Peyton Manning to run out the clock while leading the Colts to a winning touchdown. Switzer here had NO reason whatsoever to fear Rodney Peete of all quarterbacks would lead the Eagles down the field for a winning drive.
10:55 4th & 1
This was childhood right here. Pat summeral and Madden were the sound track to the 90s
GREAT PLAY AND GREAT CALL BY THE BEST NFL COMMENTARY TEAM EVER!! 11:54
☑️🦅🦅🦅🦅✅️
I remember watching this. I also remember what Dallas did to Favre and company a few weeks later. The Pack just couldn't get past Texas stadium to save their lives. Thanks for the memory! (I think)
One thing missing that really adds to this is Madden, coming back from commercial break tries to explain how the ref signaled for the two minute warning before the snap, only to see the snap happen first and correct himself. Ball don't lie.
14:16 Aikman was pissed! Cowboys kept 6 in to block 3 guys. And they couldn't do it.
Back when I felled in love with my bird's... #flyeaglesfly
Those Cowboys Uniforms need a comeback, hell bring back the Kelly Green
Nice NFL throwback 👍😊
Tyson coming thru with the commentary 😂
So upsetting for us Cowboys Fans. We are so heartbroken that we went on to whip the Eagles in the playoffs and win the Superbowl. But you Eagles fans enjoy your 2 little plays.
We will, thanks!
I love Mike Tyson calling the quarterback rule ridiculous lol. The NFL isn't the same without John Madden and Pat Summerall calling games.
If The Cowboys didn't win the super bowl that season the coach would have been fired quickly after that bad decision in your own territory
John Madden could barely contain himself over that 4th and 1 call. Tied ballgame, in FG range already for Eagles if you don't make it. They get a break with the 2 minute call, but RUN THE SAME PLAY AGAIN.
I was at this game sitting in the 700 level, and there are two things I will never forget:
1. How loud the crowd was when the Eagles stopped the Cowboys the second time on 4th and 1
2. I lost feeling in my feet because the wind chill was EIGHT DEGREES at kickoff!
No doubt one of the coldest games I have ever been to, and it was worth it.
It was the kick in the ass the Cowboys needed to win the rubber match the following month and the SB
If you grew up in the tri-state area like me. ( Wilmington DE ) The 4th and 1 game is one of the greatest moments that's reached mythical statis!
Fly eagles fly what a game I love games like this keep you on your toes to the end now games are usually over within the first 5min
1:57 Damn.....Mike giving Emmett CTE. lol
Upon seeing that, I immediately recalled this end-of-game moment and thought "whatever the hell he did or didn't do, Erik Williams messed the eff up."
This is my favorite damn channel in always on here commenting lol💪💯
Love it!
Miss John Madden's commentary! This is a all time great rivalry! Dallas Cowboys vs Eagles next up! I got Dallas 27-20!!!
