Mac & Rachel 1985-Rachel Reunites With Ada, Matthew & Amanda

Ada welcomes Rachel home, and Rachel replies, "Thank you...Mom."
Ada says Rachel doesn't have to call her that if she doesn't feel like it; Ada answers to anything: Ada, Hey You, What's Your Face. Rachel says she'll give Mom a shot, and Ada replies that'd be nice, because she's kind of used to it.
Ada then asks Rachel if she's up to seeing the children. Rachel says Mac went to get them, and she understands they're terrific kids. Ada says they're great--they take after their grandmother. Mac brings Matthew and Amanda in then, and Rachel hugs the children as Mac and Ada look on and smile.
Mac tells Rachel she'll find their bedroom at the end of the East Wing hallway. Rachel apologizes and tells Mac she hopes he understands. Mac says of course he did. After Rachel heads upstairs, Mac leans against the mantel and says aloud to himself, "Yes, of course I understand." Thanks to Eddie for the scenes.

I started watching in 1998 and only knew Amanda and Matt as adults. I always wondered about them as kids. Thanks!

Soaps are amazing! After everything Carl Hutchins did to Rachel and Mac she still fell in love with and married him. Even though he tried murder Mac. He kidnapped Nancy and herself and shot her in the process while she trying to protect Mac. Years later Carl put a contract out on her to be killed. mac saw the good in Rachel and I guess she saw that in Carl Hutchins. But Rachel was never that evil!
