So glad I found your channel, I've been struggling trying to decide between hygiene & nursing. I know y'all mentioned North Carolina, do you mind telling me which school y'all went to?! I am in the raleigh area!

When your friend said she took chemistry in high school so she didn’t have to take it, did she take high school chem or AP chem?

Do you have to take like social study classes in college? I’m a jr and my family didn’t go to college so I don’t have a lot of info, are there any required classes in college no matter what you are majoring

Every college is different on the very specific classes you need. I'd say generally you will need English, Math, History, an Arts & Humanities class (Theater, Art, Music, etc.), Psychology, and Sociology. With some of these classes you can test out of them if you have a certain ACT score on that subject or on the entrance exam. Before you will start college you will have an exam, mine was online but I know some places it's when you first get to the school. But they do that just to figure out where you are and what levels of classes you need to take. Every major is different for some classes though. For Dental Hygiene you will also have Microbiology, definitely Anatomy, and possibly Chemistry. But to answer your question: yes. If you did dual credit classes in high school that will help but with any major you have to have the general classes I mentioned earlier no matter what your major is. The first year especially you will mostly just be taking these classes. I'll be starting the Dental Hygiene program in the Fall and its taken me two years to take all my classes. The time can differ though for how long it takes to complete those courses based on how many classes you have each semester and if you had any completed in high school before you came to college. I hope that helped! If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Did you graduate with a associate's degree or bachelor's? Do you plan on going back to college for a higher degree?

Silly question- I know your nails have to be super short and no nail polish, do you know if jobs let you have a little longer nails- I know this isn’t an important question

Brianna Bucello yes they do , most jobs are more laid back and you can have nails ( not too long of course )

Love your videos! They really gave me a lot of information about the dental hygiene program, but I have another question I was reading a lot of stuff online about a lot of dental hygienists only work 2-3 days a week and employment hard to find? I was curious about your thoughts about this, especially with my husband being active duty and the chances of moving a lot with him.
