No Pain, No Rain, No Maine. Take it slow. Blood Mountain is no joke, and coming out of Neel's Gap up through GA/NC will test your resolve. Stay strong. I did the trail at 66, turned 67 at Harper's Ferry. It is a physical and mental challenge but it is doable. One foot in front of the other. Best of luck.
Frank, another thru hiker, Joe Heritage, reported Tuesday, February 20 that you had a medical emergency at one of the shelters and had to be removed from the trail. I sure hope you’re ok. If you’re up to it, please let us know what happened.
Amazing!!! Heading north! And you are the closest vlogger to me in terms of start time; I am dreaming of that view that I should see in less than 50 hours now... hope to see you on trail. Keep heading north and take care of yourself. #ATClassof2024
One step at a time. Hope you see lots of wildlife. Thanks for the views. Good to listen to your body. I usually ignore mine and end up regretting it. Give those legs a good massage. Congratulations on making it to Springer. Let the games begin! God bless.
Thursday, February 22nd: Sorry to hear about your medical emergency, Frank. Here's hoping you recover soon! Wishing you all the best! Good luck! Happy Trails! Ross08
Hi. Quietjohn from Pennsylvania here. I hope to follow you up the trail to near Port Clinton, where I can help you for a bit. Yes, the woods are so quiet Have a great hike.

Glad to see your hike is going well! I ran past you as you were recording a few minutes before the lady with the yellow shorts passed you. She works at Len Foote Hike Inn. I stayed there the night before, such a cool place! My adventure was an overnight to summit Springer and then back. Hope to one day do the AT thei-hike! I met Turbo on top of Springer after he finished his hike. Took his picture for him. What an accomplishment! I'll be following you along on your journey! Happy trails!
Thanks for sharing your Journey with us, I live in Georgia and hiked and camped on the Blood Mountain trail many times. And yes that approach trail is not that easy! I have a Hikers Prayer wall with over 300 names that is prayed over everyday, and just added you to it.
Thanks for the reminder! I like to donate to Fresh Ground and had forgotten. So because you mentioned him, I made a donation to Fresh Ground. He's amazing. Stay safe! I look forward to your adventures.
Congratulations on making it to Springer Mountain! Have you had direct communications with Hiram? He just stopped posting, so I never heard what happened to him.
Wow!! Thought we had got rid of that BS saying; “Heading North”!!! That guy was a Loser that made more Excuses then Carter has Liver Pills as my Grandfather used to say!! Let’s hope you don’t end up like Him!! At least try and finish the Trail without so many Excuses and you’ll be just Fine!! Be You and Hike your Own Hike!! Everybody Knows your heading North and knows where you wanna end up! Just don’t be a wimp like the other Heading North guy that couldn’t get it done because he was not ready for the Trail at all!! Just goes to show that Navy Boys just Can’t get it done on the AT!!! Go Army!!!!!
