  • In this video I walk through and analyze a students drop technique and demonstrate another way of doing drops on a mountain bike. Showing you the difference between a drop involving pressing into the bike for weightlessness, versus squashing the drop to get the bike down to the ground sooner.

Siren. Upload the video to UA-cam set it as private and send me the link in a private message. I’d love to take a look. And could use it in a video if you like?

That’s the worse technic you can ever do in a drop, don’t share something like this you will only confuse newbies

sorry brother - I would love to know a little more detail as to why you think this is an incorrect technique? I am a level 2 certified MTB instructor and have been running a business teaching drops for the last 4 years or so. These techniques are correct. Secondly I would always recommend when learning any dangerous feature or technique that people take a 1 on 1 lesson as UA-cam videos can do more damage than good. Hopefully you listened to the entire video otherwise you may have missed some important information about pressure control off the lip.
Would love to know your thoughts on why the technique is terrible? It has been taught this way by a worldwide recognized MTB organization for over 20 years. Always open to new ways of teaching if you have some ideas. Also the squash technique is a more advanced technique and the first technique is for more beginners. Just so you know. Thanks again.
