As someone who is transitioning from a run and gun style of street to more portrait oriented stuff, your videos are so helpful man. I like how you break everything down and actually narrate your videos and thought processes while you’re going through compositions. The think out loud style is so insightful. All around great stuff my guy thanks for your contribution to the creative space. And of course all the photos are dope. Much love from Pittsburgh
I don't know if you here this much but after watching many of your videos for the last 3 years or so, you guys have a healthy wonderful relationship and that is amazing and rare. Most often most couples have a lot of jealousy and insecurities which cause conflict when it is not even worth it over the bigger picture (no pun intended).
This is why I like your videos. Other photographers at your level would’ve put this video together and explained it like it was all planned and technical.
Dude! I freaking LOVE the "focus on the ground" trick to view the background out of focus for composition ideas! Brilliant! I am definitely going to start incorporating that into my shoot flow! Thanks!
I click on any video thumbnail with Diana in it without reading the title. Awesome mum, ever fresh model and great synergy with Manny. And Manny, I am just so used to your awesomeness at this point. You are a great teacher.
This was the best video I've ever seen when it comes to a really great process on how you can just walk into an area and figure out what you're doing. I never thought of these things. Thank you.
Great! You also highlight part and zoom in oh what you want us to look at, such as highlighting the two beams at 1:09. Very informative, thank you. Most pov (street) photographers will only show the surroundings and just tell you what you are looking at.
I swear I’ve learned so much from you man, my goal this year is turn the hobby into a lil side business and you have helped me so much with these tips. Keep it up man! Eres el mas duro de UA-cam en fotografia!
I love these so short straight to the point I've learnt more on these videos then some I've spent hours watching amazing stuff keep it up you're making a huge impact for young up coming photographers
Manny, I freaking love that you don’t use a lens hood. I’ve been debating to stop carrying them on my bigger lenses. I feel like they rob me of my joy in shooting. I’m happiest when I shoot without them. So many photographers say it’s a must, but I noticed you don’t use it a lot of times and you get the most amazing shots. I’m going to give not carrying them all the time a shot and see how it goes. You’re me hero for so many reasons 🥰🙏🏽
Honesty this video has boosted my confidence. I’m always worried about shooting outside and like not really knowing what to do or if I need a flash and stuff. But you have a camera and lens and focused a lot on the composition. Like this type of video is great cause you are giving some tips here and there, you can see the workflow and the thinking behind the shots. I’m getting ideas for my future shoots and it gives me some confidence to like have a better grasp on what to do. (As you can tell I’m A little new to the game)
what ive learn from your video...take advantage of the lights available and also look for it, you might find it where you dont expect it... thanks for this video
Shout out to Manny, I'm loving your tips you have been dropping here on youtube. I did my first run and gun photo shoot with my dj buddy yesterday around the city of Detroit. The pictures are coming out amazing. Wish I could show them to you.
Lo que siempre me sorprende de tus vídeos, es que en las calles nunca hay nadie. Yo vivo en España, y aquí eso es imposible. Tienes que hacer las fotos a las 7 de la mañana... Y los vídeos, todos magníficos 👍
no worries about hand shake and shooting wide open and no flash? think it's time to make that leap to mirrorless....looks so effortless. you two are a perfect team!
Love it man! I am just North of you in Wisconsin. Have you ever done any group sessions? Also, looking at the back of your display (5:18), I noticed you were set at 1/6400 at ISO 500. Any reason you wouldn't drop that ISO and shoot a little slower? I am always peeping your settings to see if there is anything I can learn from. Thanks.
Wonderful video. Diana and you always make for great shots. As much as I love the looks I can get with OCF, I do agree that on the go photography with natural light makes you much better at compositions. Gets your creative juices flowing. Great to see that again!
I have an idea for you. Although, I live near Chicago and shoot downtown all of the time, I’d totally buy an e-book from your website with favorite spots for portraits. I find myself going to the same locations with clients and I’d love to start hitting some new spots. Great video as always!
You should watch the new movie on Netflix "Army of the Dead" with Dave Battista.....one of the main characters bears a striking resemblence to you.....I thought he was you for a moment.......
Diana just single handed changed how I'm going to be taking photos 🤯 Every shot I take now, I'm going be like "Bam, Bam Bam, Bam, girl you got it Bam, Bam Bam" 🤣 Thanks for another great video you 2. My 85mm finally arrives tomorrow, and I can't wait to create with that.
0:47 That "de-focus" trick for checking the background! So obvious but news to me! Thank you!
Same here!
I'm wondering now if that's how I accidentally got a nice, unfocused shot.
you walking around one handed without a camera strap is getting me sweaty, love the trust in yourself
YES! I thought I was the only one. When I see people jauntily throwing around $10k in camera gear in their hand with no strap ALWAYS freaks me out.
It isn’t easy lol
I know right? I can't even watch this because I'm afraid he will drop it lol
How many times have you just randomly dropped your camera? I'm a careless SOB and I have never dropped mine
With a lens weighing over 1kg...

This man really just gave us a foolproof way to guarantee improvement on this craft we all practice. Bless up! 📸🙏

Really love this Straight to the point series!
Manny if no one else tells you bro the consistency and tips you give are priceless my guy keep it up bro much love to you and your fam!!!
What an appropriate walk around combination! 85mm1.4 and the 35mmf2.8... these two lenses stay on my two full frame SONY bodies!!
Dude! I freaking LOVE the "focus on the ground" trick to view the background out of focus for composition ideas! Brilliant! I am definitely going to start incorporating that into my shoot flow! Thanks!
that de-focus thing was freaking genius.
I click on any video thumbnail with Diana in it without reading the title. Awesome mum, ever fresh model and great synergy with Manny. And Manny, I am just so used to your awesomeness at this point. You are a great teacher.
Your videos are the best, soo informative! 😍 And real examples, not just talk behind the microphone and text. Luv it! Thank you!

you make it look easy
Great afternoon light and shadows in the location, and of course, Diana looked gorgeous. Liked the beam-across-her-eyes shot.
Between Manny's voice and Diana's modeling, I can't decide why I love these videos. #ChicagoGang #HollisterPoloGang
how long have you been doing photography?
Great show Mr. Ortiz!! I love the fashion on location/streets videos. Keep 'em coming!
I swear I’ve learned so much from you man, my goal this year is turn the hobby into a lil side business and you have helped me so much with these tips. Keep it up man! Eres el mas duro de UA-cam en fotografia!
Looking out for backlighting from a city building is sooo smart!!!
I love these so short straight to the point I've learnt more on these videos then some I've spent hours watching amazing stuff keep it up you're making a huge impact for young up coming photographers
'Chacho!!! Some fire shots Manny! Awesome job narrating how you get your shots. Thanks man. I always get inspired after watching your videos.

Unfocusing the camera and looking around for a background = mind blown. Subscribed because of that tip alone.

Manny you’re the man! I learn so much with your videos. Thanks bro !
Haven’t peeped a video in a little while (sorry) but the video quality is immaculate, I’m glad to see you constantly evolving and doing better!

Love these straight to the point videos! Thanks, man!
Really shows off the smaller form factor of the Sony A1. So easy to get awesome shots quickly without the weight and viewfinder of a DSLR.
Thanks a lot Manny youre awesome my dude, you have no idea how much I learned from your videos
Wonderful video. Diana and you always make for great shots. As much as I love the looks I can get with OCF, I do agree that on the go photography with natural light makes you much better at compositions. Gets your creative juices flowing. Great to see that again!

In the movie his name is "Mikey Guzman".....his name in real life is "Raul Castillo"....
