Just did the crossing both ways in July. On the way into Syria it took start of opening at 8am one hour to get out of Jordan and then one more hour to get into Syria. Not that bad I guess but not a breeze. On way out a week later it took two and half hours out of Syria and then two and half more hours into Jordan. And the actual Jordan part of out of car and look at bags took only 5 min so all the rest was wait wait wait and really the lines of cars not that long. So be prepared it could be a very slow process. No idea what normal is but regular summer day was brutal and hot hot hot.
